#125987 Why I won't buy the Wii U (please read)

Posted by Gamejunkie on 08 November 2012 - 10:47 AM

Im a big Nintendo fan, I wanted to buy the Wii U so I can play all the old NES, SNES, N64 games etc. and the new Wii U games all in one console. It's perfect.
But now I'm hearing the old games cannot use the Gamepad or even the pro controller..
So nintendo really expects me to buy outdated controllers in the form of a wiimote and a classic controller to plug it into the wiimote, just to be able to play the VC games? That is pathetic, greedy and so intentional by Nintendo to make more money. Why can't we use the gamepad to play VC games?

It's your decision whether you buy a Wii U or not but your reasoning not to I'd just ridiculous and pathetic. You obviously have no clue as to what's involved in making the new controllers compatible with the old games. It's not as simple as you make it out to be and not worthwhile for Nintendo to do so. Buy or don't buy a Wii U  your choice but stop whining and complaining.

#125026 GAME expects to sell out of Wii U hardware prior to launch day (EU)

Sales wise, yes, the WII was successful. You look at the Wii's Library you see nothing but a bunch of shovelware titles, Nintendo titles, and no third party support. The Wii was a terrible system.

I disagree. Yes there was a lot of shovelware especially from third parties but there was a decent number of quality titles both first party and third party. The Wii was far from being a terrible system. It was a huge success commercially and was pretty good regards software support. I have at least 25 games which are AAA quality if not close to it and there are probably quite a few I don't own as they are not to my taste. As far as first party games go Nintendo are far better then Microsoft and definitely give Sony a run for their money. At the end of the day the Wii was not designed for the hardcore gamer or the long time Nintendo fans but a new larger casual gamer market. Nintendo wasn't trying to compete with Sony and Microsoft but going after a different market and was a big success as a result of it.

#124242 A question on pre-ordering

Posted by Gamejunkie on 04 November 2012 - 09:17 AM

That's lame!

Maybe so but that's the way it is. Personally even if there was an option to pay the cost off in advance I still wouldn't do it. To me it's a silly thing to do as they're making profit and probably interest on something I don't own yet. I rather just use my credit or debit card to pay for it when I pick it up. Also if I change my mind I don't have to worry about cancelling the preorder and having to get a refund. I don't agree with paying up front and don't understand why people would want to do it.

#119429 will the Wii Lan Adapter work for wii u?

Posted by Gamejunkie on 20 October 2012 - 04:38 AM

Wait people actually still use wired internet connections.... LOL

Not sure whether you're being sarcastic or serious. My Xbox 360, PS3 and Mac all use a wired connection. As fast as my wireless connection is the wired one is a lost faster for downloads, has less lag when playing on line and buffers less when streaming content.

#119383 will the Wii Lan Adapter work for wii u?

Yes it will work with the Wii U. Apart from the fact that technically there is no reason why I seem to recall Nintendo mentioning it at some point.

#108445 Pro controller question

Posted by Gamejunkie on 16 September 2012 - 06:18 AM

With the wii mote you can use it as a controller as well playing with it with NSMB made me feel like I was playing with an NES controller

I rather use the controller pro though.

#107086 ZombiU premium pack

It was actually mentioned in our Nintendo Direct, but I dunno if that means it's official.

Yes I take back what I said. Looking back at the Nintendo Direct it seems like there is limited edition bundle for the EU with Zombie U and a pro controller but only GAME is listing it so far in the UK.

#103511 Black Wii U at Launch

Posted by Gamejunkie on 31 August 2012 - 12:34 PM

black wii u is just as likely as white wii u, there has been no official confirmation of which will be available at launch but common sense tells us both will be there at launch cos they keep showing both off. actually i think a nintendo rep did actually say black is definitely gonna be there at launch, i swear there was a post about it

This.

#96967 Upscaling the wii games

Posted by Gamejunkie on 01 August 2012 - 07:00 AM

Okay...so I mean what discribe in the first sentence. How is it possible that a software emulator can change the native render resolution of a device? If this can be done via software then I sure as hell want it in the WiiU. Would be an excellent fan service.

There is obviously a technical reason why it won't be enabled on the Wii U. In my experience from up scaling on the PS3 and Xbox 360 it's overrated anyway and doesn't make a significant different as the rest of the graphical aspects like textures, detail etc remains the same.

#92502 Bedroom?

I would love to have a life like your's;)

Yeah I think the same :]

Well I have a pretty good paying job and not a lot of expenses so I have a decent amount of disposable income to afford all that. I guess I'm just fortunate in that respect.

Huow thats a lot of thibgs : O

LOL. I guess I'm really into my gadgets. That's not the half of if as I also own a 3DS, PSP Go, Vita, iPad, MacBook Air, a Windows PC as well as a bunch of retro consoles. The retro consoles are all packed away and the a Windows PC doesn't really get used much anymore though.

I've already got a home entertainment setup in my bedroom which also has the only full HD 1080p TV in the house. The TV is on the wall with an A/V rack below it on the floor which houses my surround sound receiver, Xbox 360, Wii, PS3 (also used for Bluerays), Mac Mini, HD DVD player (used for DVD's now) and my Sky + HD box for my TV needs. The A/V rack is full now and pretty crowded with electronic devices but I'll have to make room for the Wii U. So that's where the Wii U will go. No one else in my family plays video games so having all that stuff in my room is ideal. I've also got the 5.1 speaker setup for HD surround sound.

#81244 Wii U name change

Posted by Gamejunkie on 28 May 2012 - 02:24 AM

Guys, its a name, get over it! "xbox" wasnt exactly the coolest name...it was a box...with an "x" on it, xbox360 isnt even a circle...but people still bought them and had fun! Gamers dont care about console names, they care about the games on them...SNES wasnt the most original idea after "NES", and its still one of the best consoles of all time...we should give the benefit of doubt this time and see what the system can do for us.

Agreed.
