#227441 Time has passed, now, Who won E3 2013?

Posted by SolxBurst on 29 June 2013 - 07:44 AM

Sony won E3 in general, but for me, Nintendo won. But that's only because Nintendo just had more that applied to me, and had games that got me to want them immediately. I got instantly hyped for Super Smash Bros., Super Mario 3D World, Mario Kart 8, The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, Wind Waker HD, Bayonetta 2, X, Pokemon and Wonderful 101. But for everyone else, I was excited for very few things, Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII (Current gen), Final Fantasy XV, Kingdom Hearts 3, Destiny, Star Wars Battlefront, and Transistor, all of these games are multi-platform releases and weren't limited to a single developer. Now right after E3 I am guilty for jumping on the Sony hype train but after taking a step back from the entire situation, I realized that I didn't care about 1886: The Order, or The Division, it's all cool, and when I get the PS4 I will probably get these games, but nothing said to me that I needed to buy a PS4 day one, and I wont be doing that, I already have too many games on 3DS, and Wii U as it is....

#227133 Is true JRPGs dying?

Posted by SolxBurst on 28 June 2013 - 08:47 AM

I have a feeling they won't get bought out as a whole, but rather seperate franchises to different companies. I see Nintendo gwtting Shin Megami Tensei so the crossover with Fire Emblem can still occur, and Sony might nab Persona.

Problem with that is that Persona is a part of Shin Megami Tensei. For example, Persona 4's full name is Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4.

If Atlus goes under JRPG gaming may be dead as we know it. Face it FF15 is an action game and X lacks true grinding (I'm not saying it's bad i'm just saying it's more adventure based) so without Atlus RPGs will be a thing of the past. It was my favorite genre too. Your thoughts?

You can't really say if X has true grinding or not, we know basically nothing about it...

Project X Zone, X, FF15, KH3, FE:A, Shin Megami Tensei IV, Tales of Xillia, Bravely Default, FFXHD, and Rune Factory 4.

Yuuuuup, they're totally dying.

Don't forget Pokemon, Blake. Pokemon is one of the most Japanese RPGs out there. And also, of all the games Blake just listed, only one was an Atlus game. And while Atlus does make a lot more than most publishers, there are obviously a lot more JRPG styled games still being developed.

On a side note, with the whole "Atlus dying" thing. I'm pretty sure that Atlus is a rather profitable company for the most part, and so I'm pretty sure someone will buy them out... Possibly Nintendo with how buddy-buddy they have been lately, but I'm not sure who would buy them out if needed.

#224978 Guilty Gear Xrd may come to wii u if we get enough people to sign this pettio...

Posted by SolxBurst on 21 June 2013 - 07:53 AM

Since when has a petition actually worked? The only one I can think of is the one that localized xenoblade and 1 or 2 other games.

Sounds like you have solid promises that it will happen if we sign.

What proof can you show me of this ?

The company themselves posted it.

#224975 IGN: if you only buy a WiiU "you're an ass____"

Posted by SolxBurst on 21 June 2013 - 07:51 AM

Brian Altano is known for being like this, he obviously loves Nintendo and loves the games they make, he bought a Wii U, plays tons of their games, etc.. And what he is saying here, in the most un-delicate way possible, is that if you only get the Wii U, you are truly missing out on a ton of great third party games. Of course, on the flip side. I could say the same thing about anyone who only has a PS4 or an Xbox One. I honestly don't know what he thinks he was getting across with that comment.

I still like this guy, I still like this site, and the way this thread was posted was clearly to sensationalize IGN and Brian Altano.

#216178 Are tags a new feature?

Posted by SolxBurst on 05 June 2013 - 12:37 PM

It's an old feature, but very few people implement tags into their threads, so that's why we never see them.

#215578 Latest Nintendo Minute

I like these, it makes Nintendo always feel a bit more connected to its user base. While I would rather see Bill Trinen and Reggie Fils-Aime in these videos, I know that wont happen, still, it would be cool.

#215522 Deus Ex: The Fall teaser trailer

Posted by SolxBurst on 04 June 2013 - 08:47 AM

This prob won't come to Wii U, if their investing Human Revolution into Wii U, something that already came out, then this won't happen, unless we support HR on Wii U, then they might port it later, but as someone stated before it prob wont come to it

Since The Fall has obviously been in development for a while, they probably already made the decision on whether or not its coming to Wii U. Keep in mind that Human Revolution Director's Cut for Wii U still isn't out, so they cannot have already made a decision on sales alone. They also have Straight Right developing the Director's Cut, and not Eidos Montreal. This means that Eidos Montreal developing this for Wii U is still a possibility as they already have the tech/resources from Straight Right from where they developed Human Revolution DC. I would be surprised if it doesn't come to Wii U, but according to the teaser, we'll find out more info today.
