#215367 Deus Ex: The Fall teaser trailer

Posted by SolxBurst on 03 June 2013 - 10:26 PM

This is 99% confirmed for Wii U, why port a two year old game if not planning to bring the sequel to the console?

Also the date in the video is 05.06.13 and today is 04.05.13 so no need to wait for E3 it seems
Or mabye that's an American date? :s

If it was American then it would have happened back in May.

#215160 Nintendo Land Reviews

Posted by SolxBurst on 03 June 2013 - 12:29 PM

While by yourself this game does indeed have it's own charm, it really shines when playing with others. So if you decide you want this game, bring some friends, you'll need them, after all, it is dangerous to go alone...

Presentation: The graphics are gorgeous and really stand out among the launch titles for Wii U, the theme-park aesthetic really resonates with me and really drives home the setting of this game. While making your way through each of the attractions, you never forget that this is supposed to be a theme park, and it is genius. Aside from Nintendo Land's main theme the music is pretty much a mixed bag of classic remixed tunes from each attractions respective game, and each song is just as good as you remember it, maybe even better.

Gameplay: The gameplay is hit and miss depending on which attraction you play. All of the "Competitive Attractions" are variations on similar mechanics which are essentially tag, but each with their own spin on the concept. For example,in Mario Chase, the gamepad user has a map and is able to see where each of his/her pursuers is, the people using the wii-motes have to communicate with each other to ensure victory, as simple as this attraction is, it is extremely fun, and a great party game. The Cooperative Attractions are great too, with the Zelda's Battle Quest being the favorite with my family. Metroid Blast is the best for single player and for deathmatches with your friends. And Pikmin Adventure is fun, but its kind of forgettable compared to the others. The Single Player Attractions are where it gets spotty, Donkey Kong's Crash Course is great, but very challenging, Takamaru's Ninja Castle is really hard to get used to, but its fun throwing ninja stars, the Balloon Trip game is weird, and I know people who like it, but I did not. Octopus Dance is awful, each stage is too long, doesn't have any good music, and is just boring. Then the F-Zero game, it can be good, but it could have been so much better if they just made it a racing game in this mini-game collection.

After each game, in each attraction, you get coins, these coins can be used to get special items in a special mini-game, these items are just character models, items models, and music tracks from the other attractions, and collecting these can become very addictive, and makes this game much more than just a mini-game collection. That's what is so special about this game, it mainly is a mini-game collection, but has so much more depth that actually makes this game have tons of longevity.

Overall: This game is a great game, and a few bad mini-games should not detract from experience too much, but you know that the bad ones could have been better.

8/10

#209093 Ocarina of Time 3D or OoT VC + ?

Posted by SolxBurst on 20 May 2013 - 12:14 PM

I highly recommend the 3DS version, it has better graphics, has more content, and the touch screen functionality is a great addition.

Interesting! So is the Master Quest only unlocked after beating the normal version once? And it includes remade dungeons?

Yes, and Master Quest mirrors the entire world, increases the difficulty of the enemies, causes you to take double the damage you usually take, and remakes most parts of the dungeons to increase difficulty. The dungeons aren't completely different, but they are different enough to make it interesting.

#202159 Rare Designer, Who’s Stereoblind, Can See 3D On Nintendo 3DS

Posted by SolxBurst on 30 April 2013 - 03:35 PM

I don't know why, but this story made me a little teary eyed. This man would have never known 3D without the 3DS... It shows just how a amazing this industry is... Here is the quote from the stereoblind (meaning you cannot see 3D) George Kokoris, a senior designer at Rare Ltd....

I had never known it was possible for reality to look this way—for things to look as solid as they feel.

Yet there I was, holding this little chunk of plastic and silicon in my hands, tears streaming down my face because I had never known it was possible for reality to look this way—for things to look as solid as they feel. I couldn’t look away. I got a 3DS of my own the next day, and later replaced it with an XL. I revisited Hyrule in Ocarina of Time 3D, stopping and staring at every piece of architecture. I still spend more time running aimlessly through Super Mario 3D Land’s gorgeous environments than I do trying to beat the game.

-George Kokoris

Wow... Just... Wow

#199141 Satoru Iwata to become the new CEO of Nintendo of America

Posted by SolxBurst on 24 April 2013 - 05:48 AM

This is a good thing. This means that Reggie Fils-Aime will report directly to Iwata, instead of him having to go through a "middle man", Reggie can go straight to his boss who would also be the president of the company, now if Reggie has an idea he can get it done faster because his boss is THE boss.

This is actually a very good strategy and as they said, it increases their agility overall. I hope that this actually turns out as well as they think.

In an interview the guys from 8-4 play (the localize-ers of Fire Emblem: Awakening) did with the creators of the game, the creators said that they would love to work on another, but they'll just see how it goes. So nothing official, but it's a possibility.
