Banned because he'd better be happy with who he married.

#23217 the dream i had about the Wii U

Posted by Hank Hill on 21 August 2011 - 05:31 PM

I had a dream that a kid...that was probably like...5 years old? Was yelling at me for stealing his whistle...although he almost broke my arm. o_____o;;;

I am a disturbed man.

#23102 E3 2012... im a little worries.

Posted by Hank Hill on 21 August 2011 - 05:32 AM

Seems like I am the only one to agree with TRON to an extend.
Of course we don´t know the specifications of the WiiU yet, that´s what we have to keep in mind. Nevertheless they assumingly won´t be "top-notch", it´s more likely they are even far away from it.

A comparison: The Xbox 360 was launched at the end of 2005, with a GPU (Xenos) based on the Radeon R520 architecture. The R520 was at that time a few weeks to months old.
The WiiU will (as far as we know) launch in 2012, with a GPU based on the Radeon R700 architecture. The R700 will then be about four years old.

Of course, the GPU is just based on the architecture, so it could - under certain circumstances - have a lot more power. But I don´t really think so.

And yes, I do actually believe the "Xbox Neo" (Whatever. Just don´t call it "Xbox 720". That´s gross) will be announced in 2012. Maybe not at the E3, nonetheless in 2012, with a release in the following year.
Some people said Microsoft won´t release that early, because it has to milk with Kinect every drop out of the casuals first. Which I agree with. But Kinect was released at the very end of 2010. They have already sold more than 10 million units, and I guess they make the money with Kinect itself, not with the games for it (similiar to the Wii).
The point is, Microsoft has more than enough time to sell casual carp (pardon my language), announce Xbox Neo in 2012 (which the casuals won´t even notice), sell more casual carp by the way, and release 2013.

And looking at the R700 architecture in the WiiU, it will be easy for Microsoft to outplay Nintendo technically. Lots of folks here seems to think this would be an expensive thing to do, but it wouldn´t. Microsoft could use technology from now - from 2011 - being cost-effective to produce in 2013 an later on, and still having an advantage of three years to the WiiU (at least regarding the GPU).

P.S.: Before hating begins: That´s all just from the technical side of view and has nothing to do with the quality of games.

I think I'm just going to drop this here...http://thewiiu.com/t...12-known-facts/ and know for a fact that you pulled the 'identity' of that processor out of your butt...they never said what model of GPU they're using, just that it's Radeon-based. They never said any part number.

#22650 is nintendo being cheap?

I don't care how necessary it is, I still want a dang coffee machine :P

I'm still holding out for my built-in toaster.

#22277 GameCollector's Game Sales Thread (New stuff and things!)

Just posting to let everyone know that I personally gave Gamecollector44 permission to start this thread via private message, so don't go ragging on him for violating rule #7. :)

Horray for nice admins! :o

#22252 The Nintendo 3DS Forums are starting to become a cesspool for Sony/Microsoft...

Posted by Hank Hill on 16 August 2011 - 08:31 PM

I have never registered on those forums before but I have checked them out. I don't get why there are so many haters on a Nintendo forum, just unreasonably silly if you ask me.
Besides, if your talking about trolls coming down here, that's not going to happen. As for rude people on 3DSforums, I can't assure you that some mean people will come on here eventually.

I also find it sorta funny that while all the Sony/Microsoft fanboys flock to Nintendo forums to mock and ridicule the Nintendo fans, that Nintendo fans don't do the same thing on the Sony/Microsoft forums. o_o...

As for rude people/trolls: I know you can't keep everybody away. You've just gotta keep doing your best to not let them overwhelm the forums. ><

#22231 The Nintendo 3DS Forums are starting to become a cesspool for Sony/Microsoft...

Posted by Hank Hill on 16 August 2011 - 07:37 PM

Has anybody else noticed this? I seem to notice more "Nintendo's going to die" threads than anything else on the forums...share your thoughts on this?

(P.S. I reaaally hope the Wii U forums never gets to the level the Nintendo 3DS forums are at now...)

EDIT: Not to mention the admins for the 3DS forums are...non-existant. o_o;...

#22122 So...I haven't done a introduction thread yet? :|

Posted by Hank Hill on 16 August 2011 - 02:49 PM

Well, hello. I have seen you in other topics. I hope you like the site so far.

It's rather nice. Most everybody's at least mature in their discussions.

#21834 Console made for both first party and third party developers!

Posted by Hank Hill on 15 August 2011 - 12:09 PM

Thank you for, saying all this man.:)

People, don't be negative Nelly's, Metroid isn't wrecked, casual games don't suck, and the wiimote pointer is awesome.

My pleasure. It just burns me when I see somebody post something as ridiculous as all that he said. ><

All i can say is time will see and the thing about casual games is they SUCK!! who cares if mario is in it or not. And u r in denial if u think the wiimote is good for fps"s. After thinking about the wiimote sucked. The first time i played wii sports i loved it but after that it just sucked

Then if Nintendo's casual games suck (as you're saying now), then how come Sony/Microsofts are awesome? (As you said in your last post) And if you ask anybody on this forum in the chat, and they'll tell you the exact same thing that I said, and that is the Wiimote is good for FPS. Metroid Prime Trilogy is a stellar example of that, as is the CoDs they have for the Wii.

#21650 Console made for both first party and third party developers!

End of the day guys comes down to how much money the first role out if games make. Pretty much all 3rd party games will be ports aside from a small few which will try and incorporate the tablet and will most likely fail or be mediocre(like the wiimote wrecked metroid). The wii u is too risky for developers to focus on it. Unless everyone goes crazy over the system. If u put a pc gamer in a room with s xbox ps3 and wii u see which one he picks up first there is ur winner

Thats exactly wat the xnox and ps3 are now

You lost me at "The wiimote killed Metroid" which is the single biggest lie I've heard in a very long time. I think you're just annoyed it doesn't use a dual-stick controller. (Why do people think that the Wiimote makes FPS worse/harder? I find it a heck of alot easier than fumbling with the dual-stick controllers...) Also, while the PS360 has now been getting more casual games, Nintendo will simply win over those with their first party releases...Little Big Planet for the PS3 has sold...almost 4.5 million units. (Source: http://gamrreview.vg...ittlebigplanet/), while Super Mario Galaxy has sold...just a small amount under 9.5 million. (Source: http://gamrreview.vg...r-mario-galaxy/) And I'm honestly not sure what 'casual'-genre smash-hit Microsoft has put out, but as compared to the multitude of Nintendo's casual games (Mario, the Mii series, etc) I'm not sure that Sony/Microsoft could come up with anything just as memorable as Mario.

Pretty much all 3rd party games will be ports aside from a small few which will try and incorporate the tablet and will most likely fail or be mediocre.

Wii U exclusive Tekken title, Ghost Recon Online, Aliens: Colonial Marines, Killer Freaks from Outer Space...those aren't ports. o_o...

Also, let me clear up what I meant by "Perfect storm". What I mean is that this system will get very, VERY good casual games from Nintendo, and other publishers from the past-generation Wii (who also made casual games) will have a system they can still make games for (with the Wiimote and Tablet) and a system that more 'hardcore' developers can get behind.

The wii u is too risky for developers to focus on it. Unless everyone goes crazy over the system. If u put a pc gamer in a room with s xbox ps3 and wii u see which one he picks up first there is ur winner

So, let's put a PC gamer in a room with the PS360, and the Wii U, your assumption is that they'll go for the systems that've been out for 6 years, instead of trying out the new game tech? Riiight...

#20629 Do you think Nintendo should move to the iPhone?

Posted by Hank Hill on 11 August 2011 - 02:55 PM

No...just no. I've said it once, and I'll say it again. At this point in time, people are majorly overvaluing the iPhone market. Yeah, apps are generally 99 cents. Because that's what they're WORTH. Most apps aren't even worth the 99 cents they're asking. I'd rather pay $40 for a game that lasts me 60+ hours (I'm looking at you, Ocarina of Time 3D) than pay $1 for something that can only get me a couple hours of gameplay over the course of a month.

#20385 Console made for both first party and third party developers!

Posted by Hank Hill on 10 August 2011 - 02:29 PM

Warning! Large assumption ahead! DO NOT KILL THE FREE THINKER! X_X

I think that this system could almost literally be a perfect storm in terms of games. It can play the casual, easy to pick up games with the easy-to-learn Wiimote/Nunchuck combo, and it can play the more 'hardcore' games with the Wii U tablet, and vice versa. This could be one of the best systems released. (Please no fanboy stabbings/rageflaming my thoughts Dx)
