Wow, the game itself is looking pretty impressive. You have to hand it to Sakurai, he jammed those 40 minutes packed with info... Not a lot of filler.

Otherwise, I was overjoyed to not see Isaac during the Assist Trophy reel. There is hope! =D

I hope it's the real successor to Super Mario 64/Super Mario Sunshine.

But at the very least let it be an original theme, and not Galaxy 3.

Doesn't look legit to me... It includes The Sims, which is an odd choice considering EA has stopped releasing titles for the Wii U.

The Nintendo Direct will start with an announcement that both X and Bayonetta 2 have been canceled. They will follow that up with twenty minutes of footage and info of Donkey Kong Country Returns Tropical Freeze, once again revealing Cranky Kong's playable status, as if it hasn't been revealed a billion times already. They will then show Super Smash Bros. 4, revealing that Pichu and Dr. Mario are coming back, and that their movesets are completely unchanged from Melee. They will also announce that Mewtwo will not be returning, with an image showing Lucario laughing. They will end the ND by revealing Wii Music U.

Well... My point is, don't get too hyped. This is Nintendo we're talking about.

I really want to get excited, but it's very hard.

The GBA was confirmed to come to VC, what, over a year ago? And now they're revealing new console additions when they haven't even given us any remote idea of when the one announced a year ago is coming? Are you kidding me?

The way Nintendo runs the VC is absolutely pathetic. I can imagine, at this rate, seeing a year from now the very first DS title, and that being Super Mario 64 DS. The next being some unknown title that nobody cared about, released months later.

Nintendo desperately needs to get things in order. The fact that they have to release titles over and over and over again (and at an extremely slow rate, with that) just because they don't have a unified VC is painful. So very painful. I'm still yet to make any VC purchases. I look at the selection, and there's nothing I'm even interested in purchasing because instead of adding the titles I missed out on because I was young and had to rely on parents, they're always releasing Mario Bros. and The Legend of Zelda, games that I own a billion times already. It just makes me sad.

Although I do have to say that the DS is an incredibly strange addition. The games can still be played on the 3DS, the current generation handheld. I really don't know what's going on in Nintendo's mind here. First announcing GBA VC games for the Wii U and not the 3DS, and now this...

Well that's a few more months of my Wii U collecting dust.

I actually *liked* the motion controls of Skyward Sword. Which is saying a lot, as that was really the first time I saw the motion controls as anything more than a pain-in-the-butt gimmick.

Nevertheless, they weren't perfect. I remember getting killed by a Beamos countless times because the motion controls weren't responding the way they were supposed to. But... I found the motion controls to overall be a positive experience in SS.

More of my friends have a 3DS than ever did a DS. And by that I mean, very few of my friends had a DS, while the majority of them have a 3DS. That's a pretty big deal, I'd say.

That there 3DS sure did tank, just like they predicted. Lol.

I think some of the problem here is that you're trying to lump together the entire fandom as one person with one opinion, when the fandom is instead composed of different individuals with very different opinions.

For example, just because a number of fans complained about the linearity in recent Zelda titles didn't mean that all did. Nor does it mean that it was a big deal to everybody to begin with. So for them, other complaints about the game might surface. It's not the fandom asking for one thing, and then getting it but finding other things to complain about. It's individuals who wanted one thing, didn't get it, and weren't happy in the end.

I do think it's a bit strange to complain about Super Smash Bros. 4 being rushed, and I certainly agree with you on the whole console wars nonsense, though.

Wow, they confused the heck out of me with the SSB4/Mario Kart 8 ending. I was like... "Kirby in Mario Kart 8 or is this a SSB4 trailer?"

Honestly, I still have no clue what that was all about.

Regardless, it was a more exciting ND than I thought. They did waste a lot of time on stuff I didn't care about, but they still managed to show both SSB4 and Mario Kart 8. Mario Kart 8 is still the best looking game for the Wii U, and it IS gorgeous. That cloud course is beautiful!

Rosalina in SSB4 is "meh", though. There are so many Mario characters that deserved it over her. She only slipped outside of the Galaxy series with 3D World. Meawhile Toad has been around forever, and even Bowser Jr. (who I personally hate, I must note) much deserved it over her.

Oh well, nothing can be done now. I only hope he won't waste any more slots on undeserving characters.

While I'm happy to see the mention of "Wii U", considering the last two Nintendo Directs were all about the 3DS, I'm still not getting hyped.

While we may all want to get excited thinking about Super Smash Bros., Mario Kart, and possibly further, we have to remember that this is only for up to Spring 2014 titles. Mario Kart 8 may be shown (assuming it is still a Spring 2014 title), but probably not so much SSB4.

I'm expecting a mostly 3DS focused ND, with Donkey Kong tacked on. Probably advertising Cranky Kong yet again.

But if Nintendo wants to create hype, they have to do more than they said they will in the Direct.
