#212000 [concept] Super Mario U

Posted by Envy on 27 May 2013 - 06:06 PM

I definitely want open world level designs. That's what set Super Mario 64 (and Sunshine) so far apart from the 2D series. Now that the 2D series is getting frequent new releases, the 3D series needs to set itself apart more than before.

Not sure I care about the idea of adding levels from past games. I especially don't want to see anything from the Galaxy series.

#211997 About Pokémon

Geez, could you have combined anymore of the stereotypical "Pokemon sukz nowadayz!!1!1!" statements in one post? It's to the point that I actually almost have a hard time taking this topic seriously.

I still think that Generation II's games are the best, but I really don't understand your complaints. I've found plenty of Pokemon to love in Generation III and beyond. Even in Generation V alone there's quite a few Pokemon designs I love.

Sawsbuck is actually personally one of my favorite Pokemon designs altogether.

#211738 De-Hyping E3

Iwata said that "screens" would be shown, that same day Sakurai tweeted that there would be actual footage shown. And since "screens" is extremely vague I'm thinking there will probably be some sort of trailer, at least a teaser.

Oh, interesting. I never heard of Sakurai tweeting that. Although, does footage equate to a trailer? Could it just mean that it's screenshots of the actual game?

So you guys believe that we won't be seeing a SSB4 trailer, even though there will be playable demo at e3? Hmm.. that doesn't really match up in my world

Where have you heard that it's going to be playable? I'm fairly certain that has never been said. Nintendo has always said that it will be Mario Kart and the new Super Mario 3D platformer that will be playable, not the new SSB. Do note it has to still be pretty early on in development. Remember how long it took for Brawl to get released? This is where you'll really get let down.

#211670 What is your favorite gaming system?

Posted by Envy on 27 May 2013 - 05:45 AM

The Gamecube.

Nintendo did a lot of things right on the console. The sequels to the games I loved on the N64 were absolutely fantastic, such as Super Smash Bros. Melee, Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, etc. And then new franchises that were introduced such as Animal Crossing really made the console something special (I know that Animal Crossing existed on the N64, but it didn't in the US).

SSBM and Animal Crossing were games that I played for years and enjoyed endlessly. The games that I felt disappointed with I've realized in the end were only disappointing to me for reasons I can't put my fingers on. So unlike the Wii, where every game on the console I have played has easily definable flaws, sadly. The GCN and its games came from a completely different Nintendo than the one that made the Wii.

#211390 Beautiful SMG3/SMS2 Box-art.

I suppose they are well-made. Although I prefer the SMS2 one, and that's not just because I much prefer the idea of a Sunshine 2.

Whatever they do with the 3D Mario, at the very least don't make it Super Mario Galaxy 3.

#197496 I fail to see any evidence of Big Guns from Nintendo at E3 :|

Perhaps I'm just coming off as nitpicky, but why does everybody keep on saying that Pokemon X and Y will show up at E3? Pokemon games (or at least Gamefreak's) do not show up at E3.

#195319 Nintendo E3 2013 Lineup

Posted by Envy on 16 April 2013 - 05:01 AM

Since when was Pokemon X and Y confirmed to be shown here? Since when has Gamefreak ever shown off mainline Pokemon games at an E3 event?

They don't do things that way, you're setting yourself up for disappointment.

#178046 What HD remakes of nintendo games do you want on wii u?

Posted by Envy on 01 March 2013 - 05:44 PM

If they actually remade games and none of this retexturing and adjusting lighting of the original nonsense that's going on in 'remakes' nowadays, I'd love plenty.

Like Majora's Mask. A real remake of Majora's Mask would blow my mind.

Super Mario Sunshine would also make for a gorgeous remake in HD.

But if they're just going to remaster them like Wind Waker, forget about it.

#178044 Do you think nintendo can get enough 3rd party support

Posted by Envy on 01 March 2013 - 05:40 PM

To be a 'success' financially?

I'm really not sure where we'd be able to draw that line. Nintendo draws appeal to me over other consoles and PC because I have interest in their first party titles that I can't find anywhere else. So, for me, Nintendo's consoles have a unique appeal that others can not have.

However, seeing that the Wii U is a HD console, I was hoping that perhaps it'd be able to catch all of these third party titles that the Wii had to miss out because it was an entire generation behind. Every single third party title I could have wanted has completely missed the Wii U for no reason, and it frustrates me. What exactly keeps them away from the Wii U? The PS4 didn't look very impressive to me, but maybe I just didn't see enough.

#30266 Kingdom Hearts 3 On PS3 And WiiU?

Posted by Envy on 19 September 2011 - 07:01 PM

Final Fantasy is not relevenevent in a discussion about Kingdom Hearts. Nintendo has yet to see a solid kingdom hearts title hit their systems.

But they're talking really big about Dream Drop Distance, as if its on par with the numbered games.

#25039 Super Mario Sunshine 2

Posted by Envy on 30 August 2011 - 05:35 PM

I wish!

Super Mario Sunshine is my favorite 3D Mario platformer. I don't know if they'd ever actually do a sequel to it, but I would be happy if they did because I'd love to see the return to the less linear Mario platformers. Sunshine was actually a nice balance, you had the regular levels which were all open-ended, but then you had the Secrets which were more linear. As much as I enjoyed the Super Mario Galaxy series, I'd much prefer to have open-ended levels.

If they were to make a sequel, I definitely want it on the Wii U. It'd be a really pretty theme to introduce Mario to HD.
