Ps4 wins over a 150m sales
So hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on. Let me see if I have this straight.
The $400 console that isn't marketed towards the family/casual market whatsoever is going to sell more than the $250/$200 Wii, which, if I remember anything about the last generation, completely caught on with the family/casual crowd, completely blew any and all sales expectations out of the water, and still only sold almost 101 million consoles worldwide?

the way i see it...
Ps4 wins over a 150m sales
xbox one will be about 30-40m , it will be the gamecube of this generation.
wii U is doom and glum about 15m, like never existed... Nintendo will make a new console in 2 years I bet. If we monitor the lifespan of their consoles, they play between 4-6 years for each platform... If wii U cannot make it, they will release a new one in 2+years. (this year is very critical for wii U, lets wait and see, after mario kart8 and bayonetta, how it goes).
overall.... Sony stays, nintendo will make another platform, microsoft may leave.
What are you smoking... 150m for PS4? Not the way the world is currently.

Not yet, but there is still time for that to change.
Well they're struggling financially at the moment and that's even with their handheld system being the best selling console of 2013. They're chasing the casual market yet again by delving into the smartphone and tablet industries and they're opening up to the idea of leasing out their IP's.
Nintendo may not be doomed, but the fact the founding family of Nintendo are set to sell of their entire shares to Nintendo says everything to me.

So...the DS destroyed the PSP therefore, the Wii U is going to somehow destroy the ps4/xbox one? Seriously, what is the point of the article? GAMES sell consoles, handheld or otherwise. The DS has good games, the psp, not so much.
I don't care how many DS's were sold, I still think touchscreen gaming is inherently casual. AHH, ignore me, I just get frustrated when people just keep spouting Nintendo's old successes when I'm trying to find awesome games for TODAY.
You misunderstand the point of the article.

Nope it did not. It was unprofitable so they scrapped plans for a sequel.
