OK, I'm just thinking... if all these shop managers know all this, wouldn't some of it have leaked to the internet?

So what do you think about this?

#101446 "F1 will not see a yearly release on Wii U" says Codemasters

Well, if they refuse to release hardcore games on a platform, because they anticipate that platform to have few hardcore gamers, then that will be a self-fulfilling prophecy.

#99698 Developers could have done better with original Wii's "power"

I would have chosen the Wii versions of Resident Evil just for being able to use the wiimote. I have liked a few fps:s on PC, using a mouse (The Half-Lives and Bioshock at least) and I never liked them on console until I played Metroid Prime trilogy. I know there must be more people like me, who loves the combination of couch+TV (i.e. console gaming) and a decent controller (i.e. keyboard+mouse OR wiimote+nunchuk). The controllers are more important than the screen resolution.

On topic, yes, it's strange that developers didn't invest in the Wii, because I'm sure a lot of people would have chosen Wii over other consoles if there were decent ports available of the most popular games. Which there weren't. Especially since there are so many Wiis around.

#85327 Maybe Nintendo is targeting the hardcore long term after all!

Your reasoning makes a LOT of sense. I didn't think of it this way, but now you say it, youre totally right. The Wii had a quite good launch lineup but soon enough I noticed the lack of games. The Wii U will appeal to the hardcores. And I think that the Wii U's launch lineup is really good. We've got FPS (Aliens: Colonial Marines), 3rdPS (Ghost Recon Online), Strategy (Pikmin 3), action/adventure (ACIII and Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge) and a lot more... Reggie is really right when he says that western developpers take awhile to jump to the next gen. Am I the only one that has a good feeling about this e3?

Yes, I think you're right. I think that the main reason for showing some of the "casual" stuff, like sing/dance/fitness, was that they knew that they would get some press from this, and the people interested in that would see it and think "hey, a new Wii!". The devoted gamers of course already know about the WiiU and they will buy it if the games get good reviews, regardless of what was shown at E3. I think they have a good strategy this time.
