#156800 E3 2013 looks good already

Posted by Falconberg on 06 January 2013 - 08:46 AM

The thing about Nintendo is that they rarely care what the other companies are doing. They aren't going to blast out a ssb or Zelda trailer just to steal attention from their competitors. They've never done reactive marketing like that. They aren't looking to the competitors for where to draw the lines in the sand.
Isn't that what makes nintendo awesome, though? They don't just mimic their competition & call it innovation. They are the innovators! It's Sony & ms that mimic nintendo. The so called "big boys" haven't had a truly innovative idea yet.
The only thing that made them superior in the last set  of consoles was third party support.
I'm hoping nintendo has a good e3 because I want them to, but I'm not banking on it just because the others are supposed to.

2012 e3 was a joke but lets not think 2013 will suck because of it. In fact, the opposite should be happening because all the stuff theyve been working on wil finally be revealed. No more Wii U pad 30 minute talks, our first glimpses of nintendo games in HD for the first time ever aside from a little Zelda tease, ps4/720 are coming, etc.

Go big or go home is 2013 .  Last year, sony and ms had nothing to show since everything was PS4/720. Nintendo knows they are coming and will need to up the stakes. No more nintendoland , no more developer interviews talking about the wii u. This is it.

They forgot Aliens... I wish some third party games would suprisingly come out in Q1. Especially bioshock.

You my pal, have no taste ;) if you have not played them, how can you say they are boring?

You are right, it is really connected, but if you removed the seas and stitched all together, how small would the remaining world be? It was a nice original concept but I really missed the overworld forests, etc. Yet....i'd love to see the seas, skies and trainconcepts return, but as an element, a world, dungeon or special place to visit, but not as the overworld.

Actually I have played some, and they are BORING. Stop being a nostalgic f@g. 'Kay? ;)

Agreed, they should not make 1 retro version. Yet they could do how they do it with mario. There are the Galaxy and Mario3D games, and you have the NewSuperMarioBros2D games. Why not bring us a full 3d motion gesture/gamepad game for WiiU and the 2d retro game for the eShop?

Ps: you should really try to play a classic once, forget the graphics and just let it go....you'll be suprised.  Maybe not....but take it from me and the 'older gamer' (how you nicely mentioned it) that those old games where really good and hold up very good to this day!

Yeah a retro e-shop game would be cool. And i have played A Link to the Past and Minish Cap which are both decent games, but theres just nothing that beats the feeling of riding through hyrule field on Epona! I dont think the games themselves are outdated, i just think that style for a modern game would feel outdated.

#154588 Retro's Untitled Project? Speculation thread

Well considering the rumors recently and nintendo saying its going to be something we wanted for a LONG time and it would be unexpected I feel that it could be diddy kong racing 2.

What do you think dope or nope?

#155226 Nothing a little software update couldn't fix

There's already a 5 brightness settings for the GamePad, no need for more.

#97067 New GTA V rumors, Take-Two and Rockstar deciding whether it should be on Wii U

Posted by Link707 on 01 August 2012 - 01:51 PM

I know Rockstar was complaining with gta4 that the xbox360 had to less of storage on 1 disc compared to ps3 bluray. What system uses the wiiU?

Proprietary format very similar to bluray but not to close to infringe patents. Gets the same amount of storage

#96967 Upscaling the wii games

Posted by Gamejunkie on 01 August 2012 - 07:00 AM

Okay...so I mean what discribe in the first sentence. How is it possible that a software emulator can change the native render resolution of a device? If this can be done via software then I sure as hell want it in the WiiU. Would be an excellent fan service.

There is obviously a technical reason why it won't be enabled on the Wii U. In my experience from up scaling on the PS3 and Xbox 360 it's overrated anyway and doesn't make a significant different as the rest of the graphical aspects like textures, detail etc remains the same.
