#275839 Nicalis Founder - "Wii U Gamepad is a waste of time and resources."

Unlike you, I suppose, I use the gamepad most of the time when my family is watching TV. I just think the OffTV feature should be one of the highlights when promoting.

#272817 When this forum explodes

Posted by Lupaie on 16 February 2014 - 08:23 AM

On a sunny morning I tried opening the WiiU Forums but received a notice that the forums were offline. A refresh did the trick but the scenario still reminded me to a time when our unofficial xboxforums we're hacked and taken offline. Back then we had no back-up scenario, (we did back-ups though) I mean in a way in which we (the users) could find each other in case the forum were fubar. We got it back online and no harm was done. But what if the admins (who I selden see) decide to not take the effort anymore and let the forums die...(or not re-animate it after a crash).

Are our bonds deleted with it? Most of you have NNID's but I only connected with a couple of you. Maybe you'll see some invites in the next couple of days ;)

#268148 “Nintendo was dead to us very quickly” says EA

Posted by Lupaie on 23 January 2014 - 02:41 AM

The "kids ip platform" has a little bit of truth in it if any game not rated 18+ (or M or whatever you call it) is a kids game. But Nintendo games sell better than crappy sports titles and shooters because they are of higher quality and more fun, not because they are suitable for kids. Oh well we all know EA are just being babies anyway.

Sorry, I love Nintendo, but EA talks sense. You however, no offense, sound like a fanboy. I often feel the need to protect and stand up for Nintendo too, but I think we've all seen to many cases, news and articles to just ignore it. EA and Activision...moneywolves as they are...would they not seize the opportunity to make even more money? Yet they didn't see any points to do so, and they are much closer to the source than we...the fanboys. All that we do is ignore and defend, and I'm fed up with it. Once again, this is no personal attack.

#267221 Why 2013 has been the worst year in gaming.

Posted by Lupaie on 18 January 2014 - 05:50 AM

Most of the reactions here make me wonder if the commenters even took a look at that film. And if so, if they're competent enough to understand what the movie was about. It actually says that 2013 had a lot of good software but its focus is about what publishers and first parties are doing with the marketplace and us as consumers. Sure it is not only 2013 but earlier signs too, yet I hold my breath for what is coming next and hope that we as consumers dare to stand up against such practises.

#265773 2D versus 3D Zelda

Posted by Lupaie on 09 January 2014 - 10:33 PM

I Love the new 3ds 2d game. But wait, the 3d in this game is really brilliant. It feels so natural and really adds a an extra layer. (Most 3ds games just use 3d layers as eyecandy, and I turn of 3d function after some rounds because it tires my eyes. Not so in this Zelda game. I never play without the 3d)

Many concepts of the Nes and Snes originals where lost in translation to the 3d games but returned in the new 3ds Zelda.

Not only enemies and dungeon, but the general feel of exploring with minimal hints and a maximal feeling of freedom feel are absolute brilliant.

I have been hoping for this game to happen, and it surpasses my dream in all aspects.

Whenever a new 3d zelda pops up, I hope they use their newfound vision on that as well. Never thought that old concepts could feel so refreshing.

Hun

The best argument I've heard is that if you outlaw guns, only outlaws will have them.  Though unless you stop producing guns entirely, the black market will find a way to get them to SOME people who shouldn't.  Personally I think we just need to make the conditions required to own a gun stricter.  You hear plenty of stories of some guy who is mentally unstable walking into a store, buying one, and walking out without any trouble.  Or there's some guy who leaves his out in the open or unlocked where other people can get at it like their children.  There's a startling lack of irresponsibility with them.

Conversely, I have an uncle who owns a few guns which he uses to go hunting every year.  However, he keeps them under tight lock when he is not using them with no exceptions.  He's never had a problem.  It would be nice if there was a much more difficult process to get them, so only responsible people can get them legally.  But of course, heaven forbid congress look at that issue in any other way besides "all the guns vs. no guns"

Hunting guns and guns for sports are legitiem in The Netherlands too, but you be must tested, and member of a group, at adult age and you need to apply for a license too. Which is a hassle.

Sure, criminals will always find ways to get their hands on weapons, yet starting wannabe gangsters will find it much harder to find it, let alone use it. Really, that "if you outlaw guns, only outlaws will have them" is so American, I just don't understand why it doesn't apply in the rest of the World. If everyone in my street would have a gun, including me...some old fashioned fist fights would have resulted in one of the weaker residents grabbing guns. And then the spiral would start. You simply need to stop allowing it to end that downwards spiral and concentrate on which groups will be pardoned.

I guess I'll never understand Americans. Exactly the same as with weapons. I don't understand why they are allowed to carry guns. The same not logic is that its the only way to protect them selves from violence. .... Isn't it just the other way around? This works well in almost the entired world...but in America there is much more violence... Duh..  If everyone can have a gun

#258730 The White House begins to try and push the already flopped Obamacare.

Posted by Lupaie on 03 December 2013 - 08:23 AM

It's subsidized healthcare for the people who can't afford it.

In our country this has been forever. I don't understand the Americans that don't want it. It should be a truly collective, civilized and human thing. But indeed, it should be for everyone, by everyone. When you or your loved ones become ill, you would not have to worry about doctor costs too.

#258706 This animation I'm doing...

Posted by Lupaie on 20 December 2014 - 04:18 AM

I don't speak dutch, and all I got out of it was something about a school and it's students and teachers.

Yeah, you're right. It is an animation about the vision of a university and where they want to focus on

New animation. Need to visualize an excisting area. But all buildings are very different and don't match. Also, a web of different roads kills the mood. So I decided to stylize the area. When playing Mario 3D World I took a good look at the over world map and decided that I wanted to partially go that way but a little more realistic and more serious too. I'll try to animate the tiles as in Bastion. Well, here's a first test render in progress. Still checking out the software.

Oh, I just like how I always find inspiration in videogames. The bottle animation ^^^ was influenced by the bottle-mix of different fruits in Pikmin3.

I started using Behance for my portfolio. I just started with a new project. Still figuring out for which style I'll go. The project is here https://www.behance..../897971/1626311
