#308243 If you could have any sequel...

Posted by BanjoKazooie on 05 February 2015 - 03:46 PM

Alright, if you could have a sequel of any game ever, or even a spiritual successor, what game would it be? And also, what would you want done with the game? Is there any changes from the original that you would make?  The game doesn't have to be a possible game, in fact it would be better to discuss games that definitely won't happen!

For me, it is a tie between two games. first, Banjo-Tooie (pretend Nuts and Bolts doesn't exist), and second, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning.

1. Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie were the best 3d platformers of all time in my opinion.  They were both full of diversity, challenge, fun boss fights, and a million things to collect and do.  They both had things that were better than the other, but together they were two of the funnest(and funniest) games ever made.  I would love a sequel that introduced a new enemy that uses Grunty to destroy the isle o hags and kidnap Banjo and Kazooie.  The world would be enormous and full of diverse landscapes and interesting ideas, but just as quirky as its predecessors.  Though this game only exists in my dreams, it is still fun to think and theorize about.

2. Kingdoms of Amalur Reckoning (KOA) is one of the greatest RPG's of the last gen in my opinion.  While many view it as a tired entry into a saturated market, there was something about the world that left me amazed and in awe.  Whether it was Detyre's vast cliffs and the city of Adessa's amazing and awe inspiring archetecture, or if it was Rathir's towering enormity that with the immediate sight of it I was taken back.  Whatever it was, the game hit a sweet spot in me.  The story was interesting, the lore was deep and complete, the world was spectacular, and the main quests were very well done.  However, there were some things that lacked, such as meaningful side quests and a completed and well done combat system.  Also, the world was broken up into segments that required load screens to go between, both of these things the developers planned on fixing in the second rendition before they went bankrupt.  Now the fate for this gem lies in the hands of Nordic Games, who are instead fixated on reviving a ten year old, ill recieved game.

One last thing, the music in both of these games is absolutely fantastic, and both games are composed by Grant Kirkhope, who is a legendary game composer.

Now,what games would you like to see made? Would you enjoy either of these games?

#308173 Official Xenoblade Information Thread

Posted by BanjoKazooie on 04 February 2015 - 03:09 PM

I've actually recently got my hands on the original xenoblade, and I've already logged nearly 50 hours in and i do not see an end in sight.  I cannot wait for this game.  If it is anything like its predecessor I will be a very happy man! I do not care as much about world size as world life, and looking at the trailers i think this world has plenty of that!  Hopefully Aonuma  is taking notes and asking questions.  I'm also quite excited for the online implementation, and to take on some of those late game beasts shown off!

#308172 Hyrule Warriors US Sales AMAZING! Over 1 mil ship WW

Posted by BanjoKazooie on 04 February 2015 - 02:57 PM

I got this game and played it through and am indulging in the DLC as well! I've never button mashed so happily, honestly all the appeal was in playing as Ghirahim, my personal favorite villain. I am not surprised it is selling so well considering it carries the Zelda name brand, probably the second most iconic franchise in video game history behind only Mario.  And thanks for posting the Wallpapers!

#308170 metroid prime trilogy wii u

Posted by BanjoKazooie on 04 February 2015 - 02:50 PM

I'm currently playing it for the first time.  10$ was a steal.  I don't know if I will play all three of them but I at least needed to play the first.  So far I am impressed, very impressed.  The world design is fantastic and the sound is beautiful and additive, I am also impressed with the open endedness of the gameplay, and how having to read the notes makes it seem like you are truly alone and it feels like a true adventure instead of todays "Go here and do this then come back" approach to most games.  However one thing I am dissapointed with is the constant revival of enemies that take sometimes minutes to kill and yield no reward, it eventually becomes extraordinarily tedious.  But overall I love the game and am very happy Nintendo put it up for sale.  Lets hope they start releasing gamecube games soon!!

#287663 E3 2014: Big Third Party Xbox One Exclusive

Posted by BanjoKazooie on 01 June 2014 - 04:57 PM

Will Gaben revert into a vapor form and invade every Microsoft employee's body and activate every single brain function until their fragile minds can't take it and explode?

yes, precisely. And all Xbox ones will activate their self destruct mode in which every one of them will overheat and blow up.

#287629 Tech Feedback on review Mario Kart

Posted by BanjoKazooie on 01 June 2014 - 12:53 PM

In the site poll the majority have rated it 9-9.9.
So buck what the reviewers think, the players obviously love it.

amen. I got it yesterday and I love almost everything about it. The only things that could use improvement are the battle mode and the vehicle parts having more of an effect on the performance rather than most of them changing almost nothing. I think other than that the game is spectacular and I've played it solely with my younger brother and I see no issue with frame rate.

#235416 "Nintendo is going to be here in 100 years"

Posted by BanjoKazooie on 27 July 2013 - 05:22 PM

Iwata is the man. I used to not like him, but after I heard him say this a couple weeks ago, my respect level for him went up by a thousand. This is a man who stands up to his millions of share holders and says "NO, that isn't what I'm going to do". Lay offs are bad, and he knows it has negative affects on morale, and that will show through in their games. He deserves a slow clap.

#234577 Disney defends the cost of new Infinity game

Posted by BanjoKazooie on 24 July 2013 - 05:26 PM

And then it gets low sales, will they still defend the cost?

no they will just blame Nintendo and say games can't sell on wii u. Seems to be the trend with games nowadays.

#234237 What would you do in a zombie outbreak?

Posted by BanjoKazooie on 23 July 2013 - 12:18 PM

I would sacrifice myself to them, and just when they begin to eat me or what not, they realize that I soaked myself in cobra venom, and injected it into my veins. They then all die, but since the took all the poison for themselves, I live :)

#231851 What game character best relates to you?

Posted by BanjoKazooie on 15 July 2013 - 01:36 PM

Probably Ganondorf, I have always dreamed of obtaining power through force and taking over the world, and then start a reign of terror and death, I just like the idea of people fearing me. Like, if I roll into town all the mothers hide their children type of terrible, too bad it would be the last time they would ever see each other. I have always loved to see fear in people eyes, I love to know that I can mean the difference between life an death, and they have no choice. Like when me and my friend walked across a railroad tresle, I was so tempted to push him to his death, I could see it in my mind, but he did my math homework, so the loss wouldn't have been worth it. I also like hovering over people when the sleep with a knife in my hand and just knowing I could kill them, and there would be nothing that could stop me. I have spent entire nights doing this. So yes, Ganon would be a good fit for me.

I'm just kidding, that is freaking MESSED UP! I would actually have to say Mario, because I love chasing after girls that are WAYYY out of my league.

#231584 watch dogs visuals PS4 vs Wiiu

Posted by BanjoKazooie on 14 July 2013 - 06:10 PM

From a graphical standpoint, the PS4 will most likely have a slight edge. But gameplay, wii u will win hands down. This is a game that will benefit greatly from a second screen, and I have a feeling once you play it on wii u, it will be nearly unplayable on the other systems. Hopefully Ubi takes advantage of this opportunity! I will support this game for wii u, but they have to come through with it, I don't want a half assed 360 port with a mini map on the screen. I want something that makes me say WOW!

#230785 I am getting kicked out and need help.

Man that sucks, I would move to Indiana. There is a lot of opportunities for you there. If you can get back on your feet, then you could try to move back to NYC and see your brothers.

#230485 Miyamoto hints at his new IP to be released in 2014

Posted by BanjoKazooie on 10 July 2013 - 09:08 AM

I am very interested in this. Every new IP that Miyamoto was influential in revolutionized the genre it was in. Donkey Kong created platformers as well as introduced a storyline. Super Mario Bros introduced scrolling levels. Zelda introduced open-worlds and exploration, F-Zero created 3D racing with Mode 7, Star Fox introduced 3D models on consoles, Metroid Prime combined FPS and Exploration Pikmin showed that RTS games can work on a console. That's not even mentioning the later installments in these franchises. Super Mario 64 introduced a movable 3D camera in a 3D world, Ocarina of Time showed how 3D Adventure games should play, Super Mario Kart furthered Mode 7 even more than F-Zero by adding multiplayer, F-Zero X got 30 cars on screen at the same time while maintaining 60 frames per second in a time where a lot of games struggled to show a lot and maintain 30, Yoshi's Island pushed the SNES to it's 2D graphical limits by requiring a new Super FX Chip, etc. Every new IP he creates is gold, and whatever this is will be no exception.

You somehow forgot to mention wii music. Man that revolutionized... Nothing at all.
