Where exactly is the data stored? I thought it would be in the center of the disc.

The bubbles are on the inner ring right? The clear plastic part?

#130842 My video game store got 3 basic wii u in today

Posted by Spleenzorio on 16 November 2012 - 11:09 AM

This is why I still wait in line even with a pre-order.  Perfect example - 1999 for the Sega Dreamcast I waited out at what was then an EB Games, now gamestop. I was first to arrive and by the time they opened the doors well over 100 people were in line. They came out with bad news. Out of the 80 systems ordered only 40 arrived. First come first serve kicked in. Felt bad for all the others, but stuff like that happens

That's why I prefer pre-orders by far. I was first on the list for a Wii U at my EB Games, and even if I'm dead last in line when they open I'm garenteed to get one. I just called my store and the girl said they already got theirs and have quite a few, although I'm not sure how many pre-orders they have total but they do have a waiting list. Only sucky part is they aren't doing a midnight or early opening, so I gotta wait til noon >_<!

#130510 The Wii U and its problems

Posted by Spleenzorio on 16 November 2012 - 01:10 AM

1. Perhaps take a look at some other games before you form a conclusion based on just Mario.

2. Nintendo knows what happened with the Wii and they said they are making more, which is why they aren't using resources making separate GamePads. You can only ship so many across north America at a time.

3. Not everyone needs that much space if they are going to be buying physical copies of games. Wouldn't be fair to include a bigger drive only to needlessly raise the price for everyone. Which is why we are free to add our own storage solutions.

4. I dunno what else you want, because a second screen is basically what it is. It's not supposed to be a doorway into narnia.

Coolio, you American's get some good deals, I know you pay $60 for games but we pay £50 and if your good with currency you'll be able to work out that we in the UK pay a lot more than you do, The Auzzies have it even worse though $120 wow, just wow.

I SAID CANADA NOT AMERICA!!

Jk, But unless I'm converting it wrong, Australian currency is worth more than our Canadian dollars by a few cents, so a game there would cost me 80 bucks, same with the British pound. So yeaaaah lotsa moneys!

Watching the first few minutes, I've noticed these guys have no idea what's going on. They remind me of dads who buy the crazy new hip toy for their kids and have to read the instructions 50 times before they know how to put it together.

Also shown in the flyer:

NSMBU, Nintendo Land, Ninja Gaiden 3, Sing Party - $58.83 (about a buck off everywhere else)
Wii U Remote Plus - $39.83 (about 5 bucks off everywhere else)
Wii U Microphone - $19.83 (about 10 bucks off everywhere else)

Everywhere else I've looked has Scribblenauts and Epic Mickey 2 for $59.99, so this is a pretty good deal.

#129557 Straight Right about if Wii U is next-gen, faith it will find its audience

Wii U looks fun and addictive to me that's all that matters, I'm a gamer who wants to enjoy games, and I belive this new console will be very enjoyable, £350 very well spent on my part.

Indeed my friend, indeed.

#129548 Key Details on Wii U Storage Solutions

Posted by Spleenzorio on 14 November 2012 - 08:43 PM

Who in thier right mind needs 2TB HDDs any way, my 360 had a 250GB HDD and after installing all my games DLC and save data I still had over 100GB left, I'm getting a 500GB HDD for my Wii U, that will be way more than enough, this is the one I'm getting: http://www.amazon.co..._cmu_pg__header I think it's cool cos It's black like the Wii U and it lights up Blue when it's active just like the Wii U home button, plus it's small, compact and cheap :P

RACIST!

Kidding. But I'm getting a 2TB, just so I can use it with all my PC thingers also :)
