#318022 Keeping the forum going

Posted by Arioch on 28 April 2016 - 06:32 PM

I don't really have anything different to say that what I said here, so...

http://thewiiu.com/topic/23198-future/

Things change, we all have to move on at sometime. To be truthful, I wanted to step down as admin a long time ago on this site. I never really felt like I fit the role well and I was always too lax with things. If the forum dies, oh well, but if you guys want to put in the effort to breath new life into it, go ahead. I might even try to help you out if your effort is good enough. But it's just how things seem to go on online sites like this, I've seen it happen before.

I might have pulled a lot of jabs at feld0, probably more than he deserved, but he is a busy guy too. I completely understand why he hasn't been around as much, not only is he running a more active forum, but he is heading a project for a community as well as juggling real life (and if I remember correctly, his aspirations and studies were a bit more higher shooting then mine). That's not to say there aren't some problems here especially with communication, but that's neither here nor there right now.

At the very least, my opinion of the site improved after the chatroom was removed, that was a real mess. In hindsight, nothing good came out of the chatroom and it was a major source of all the site's problems.

I mean, I can maybe try helping you guys with whatever you want to try next, but I really don't have the time for it anymore at this point in my life, so I don't know how much I can promise you.

Eh, the Wii U only has about a year left as a dominant console. Might as well switch to a more generic site that covers all the Nintendo consoles without being overwhelming.

#308934 Valentine's day

Posted by triforceguy1 on 14 February 2015 - 12:12 PM

Personally I find Valentine's Day a waste of time. Not only does it make people inconsiderate to their single friends on social networks by them going crazy with the VD selfies but it also proves how pathetic some people are that they show their love because big corporations tell you too. Surely you should show affection like you do on Valentine's Day more regularly than once every 364 days... also someone I loved convinced me they committed suicide on Valentine's Day a few years ago, so for those who bother about me hating on it, I actually have a good reason to.

Rant over...

#308443 Get your hopes up about Zelda Wii U and Xenoblade X, but not too much (imo)

Posted by 3Dude on 07 February 2015 - 02:58 PM

I really didn't want to say anything because I didn't want people to know I sold gamestop a bad Wii U, but.... that Wii U I sold had a tv fall on it and the fan became loud. Gamestop gave me full tradein value for it though. I tried to just casually mention it to them and they said, "We decide what works and what doesn't. It looks fine" It still sounded like a chainsaw playing Sonic Boom.

Of course it might have held up. And I did want a vita at the time.

Maybe thats just because it was being forced to play sonic boom?

Here we have an image, roughly 3ds sized, on the left we have the full image, the amount of visual data you would recieve with left eye, and right eye images put together. On the right, we have the left eye image ONLY, which is what the 3ds uses for 2d mode, which is what is being shown in the videos. in order to fill those gaps for 2d mode, 3ds simply stretches the pixel lines over to fill the gaps.

#307406 Name something fascinating (or disgraceful) about the New 3DS

Posted by NintendoReport on 22 January 2015 - 02:18 PM

Not worried about the screwdriver, it's not like your gonna be swapping out memory cards every week. No adapter, sucks for those just buying the handheld for the 1st time, but doesn't affect me either way.

Fascinating:

That little control nub actually works well, according to a lot of people who already have the system.

Nintendo stuck with the 3d and actually improved it greatly. Good for them.

According to a post on gaf, the new 3ds can be setup as a network storage device, easily allowing transfer of files. Thats here: http://www.neogaf.co...ad.php?t=939712

So, I got my New Nintendo 3DS XL today. Did a system transfer from my UK console, all went well. Decided to have a look at the new functions on the system menu. microSD Management? That's new. Let's try that.

(FBI SURVELLIANCE VAN is the SSID of my router network, if that wasn't obvious)

My New Nintendo 3DS (well, the SD at least) is now a network storage device. I can transfer any file types back and forth, and I never have to remove the SD card again. I can even set the thing as a network drive!

Is this the first of its kind? I am kinda shocked at how good this is. I knew there would be a way to transfer files, but Nintendo never elaborated on it other than "yeah you can transfer music and photos across"

I'm interested in the successor.  Not a bad program initially but the gifts left a lot to be desired the last year or so.

I see no other possibilities.
