#134586 CAPU's Pikmin Club visit and enjoy a daily dose of pikmin

For the Pikmin minigame, you can control an Olimar Mii and tap the Gamepad with the stylus to throw Pikmin. I believe the Wii Mote can control a Pikmin Mii or Pikmin Miis.

#134559 Wii U 'Has A Horrible, Slow CPU' Says Metro Last Light Dev

JO3H - It's Nintendo's fault for not telling us the specs in the first place. Their fanbase, us, want to know. And it could have saved a lot of discussion had they told us.

angel - Why do you want to torch people who have the facts? The Nintendo fanboys are just as bad as the haters.

UnchainedGoku - while you're busy unfollowing his threads, I'm busy treating him like a person. :)

#133765 Madden 13 Reviews

Posted by BrosBeforeGardenTools on 19 November 2012 - 02:42 PM

Game name: Madden 13 (Wii U)

Before I played this game, I expected it to be like IGN's review which scored it an 8.3/10. It turns out that it's slightly better.

The Gamepad can be used for choosing plays and designing routes for the receivers. It also shows formations, and works as a second screen in case you need to look down at the buttons.

I have played the PS3 version and the graphics seemed slightly better. The physics also seemed slightly better. But the PS3 doesn't have two screens. Graphics and physics aren't all that matter in this case. There is also fun, and in that regard this is a decent port.

For the second player, you don't need a Pro controller. I was using a Wii Remote Plus with nunchuck for second player. You need the nunchuck though.

Playing a fast character like Michael Vick is fun, because this game moves really fast already at Normal speed.

The graphics of this game are still good, including the realistic players and realistic grass.

This game is probably the best Wii U game I have played so far, though the Rayman Legends demo looks like that game might edge this one out.

My score of this game: 8.6/10

Strangely enough, the Wii U doesn't carry the improved physics engine of the 360/PS3 version. EA must hate Nintendo. Some people like the old physics better but I digress.

Hopefully the Wii U's graphics are as good. I have heard before that they probably will be.

#131676 CAPU's Pikmin Club visit and enjoy a daily dose of pikmin

UnchainedGoku - You're unjoining his club because someone said that he who was clearly enjoying himself was making garbage posts? That's a little mean.

I only played Pikmin once (one playthrough) when I was 13 but I enjoyed it. I'll join this club.

I can barely pronounce anime, which says a lot about how much I watch it.

#130500 The Wii U and its problems

Posted by BrosBeforeGardenTools on 16 November 2012 - 12:52 AM

I may be silly, but after seeing negative threads on the Wii U with opinions that aren't following the facts, I wanted to make a proper negative thread about the Wii U.

1. The launch games are quantity over quality. NSMBU isn't an original game at this point, there have been so many NSMB. At some point, games tend to lose their style unless something completely new is invented.

2. The availibility will be horrible. Nintendo should have known to produce more consoles.

3. The Wii U needed a hard drive. A large hard drive would have been just as fast as that Solid State Drive, I'm pretty sure of it. It doesn't cost much and who cares if it makes the Wii U bigger?

4. Developers aren't making good use of the Gamepad. They're either using it as a separate screen or treating it like an old DS game. It will probably take a couple of years before developers take good advantage of it.

I'm still getting a Wii U and want one badly though, because:

1. Nintendo Land is a major improvement over Wii Sports.

2. I want a new Nintendo system. The Last Story sold me on Nintendo systems.

3. PS3 and 360 don't excite me at this point.

4. Numerous other reasons.

#130485 Nintendoland review is up

Posted by BrosBeforeGardenTools on 16 November 2012 - 12:08 AM

I'm glad Nintendo Land got the reviews I thought it would.

Awesome, best console launch of any system ever and that's final.

I looked through the launch titles of other systems and you're actually right, even though I'm disappointed this system doesn't have a killer app for me really.

However the XBox's Halo 1 game at launch came close. Halo 1 was really something for its time. That game was so good, it makes a worse lineup come close.

#129873 A bit early to ask this but...

Posted by BrosBeforeGardenTools on 15 November 2012 - 09:14 AM

Fair enough if you want PS4 too, I might do that, but I would stay far away from Micro$oft, thier business practices are horrible, they charge for everything and they try to force thier products down your gullet, especialy Kinect, even though it's an obvious failiure, plus most of thier exclusives are out the window. You have to remember Micro$oft are a multi product company who thinks they rule the world. Nintendo are a dedicated gaming company so I'm putting my trust in them one last time if they fail I will defect to Sony Playstation and give that a try if I don't like them either I'm out of the modern gaming business completely, it will be straght to the last gen consoles for me.

I've had both the PS3 and 360 and liked the 360 a little better. Because I had fun with Halo 3. I agree that Kinect is a failure, and dislike paying for online.

#128193 Price of Wii U games

Posted by BrosBeforeGardenTools on 12 November 2012 - 01:15 PM

Something which I noticed was that original Wii games tended to stay 50 bucks for a long time, while 360/PS3 games tended to drop to 20 bucks fast. Hopefully for our side of the bargain, Wii U games follow the 360/PS3 pricing trend.
