Hello, welcome to the forums.

Now what kind of surround sound troubles are you having? We have people who are more than capable of assisting.

Sorry for replying so late... but I had literally just found out that Wii U only supports a different type of surround sound..."generic" surround sound if you will. It does not support any type of Dolby like the Gamecube and Wii did.

So I searched the web for the surround sound that the Wii U offers and found one from Sony for $210. The surround type that Wii U supports is called LPCM...as I just heard about it this year.

Yes guys! I am sooo glad I found people who are experiencing the same issues because I thought it was something I did wrong. In the system settings, I can get 5 chimes when I sample stereo, but just as you guys are saying, 2 chimes are missing when I sample Surround.

I kept the same setup I have for the Wii U and hooked up my PS3 and Surround sound was alive and well with the PS3. (I have one HDMI cable from game system to Surround receiver's HDMI Input, and another HDMI cable from Surround receiver's Output to my HDTV's Input.)

This obviously means there is some sort of error in the Wii U. Please guys, let's see if we can get this message out to NIntendo so this can be fixed immediately!
