#247514 WayForward wants to make a "Pony" game

Posted by BlueBlur on 22 September 2013 - 02:27 PM

http://mynintendonew...te-a-pony-game/

WayForward, the developer behind DuckTales Remastered and Shantae , have revealed on Reddit that they would love to make a game in the My Little Pony series. WayForward’s Game Director Adam Tierney explained in a Ask Me Anything thread that there’s a lot of developers at WayForward who would absolutely love to work on a Pony game. Tierney said that if people want a My Little Pony game then they really need to contact Hasbro.

Oh, and we’re 100% not kidding, people – SO many people here at WayForward wanna make a My Little Pony: FiM game. Lauren Faust ROCKS. Make it happen, Bronies! You guys should email Hasbro – tell them how much you’d like to see a WF-developed FiM game

My reaction...

#247331 Shin’en: It’s not the hardware’s fault if devs can’t create good looking games

Posted by BlueBlur on 21 September 2013 - 05:11 AM

The Wii U eDRAM has a similar function as the eDRAM in the XBOX360. You put your GPU buffers there for fast access. On Wii U it is just much more available than on XBOX360, which means you can render faster because all of your buffers can reside in this very fast RAM. On Wii U the eDRAM is available to the GPU and CPU. So you can also use it very efficiently to speed up your application.

The 1GB application RAM is used for all the games resources. Audio, textures, geometry, etc.

Theoretical RAM bandwidth in a system doesn’t tell you too much because GPU caching will hide a lot of this latency. Bandwidth is mostly an issue for the GPU if you make scattered reads around the memory. This is never a good idea for good performance.

I can’t detail the Wii U GPU but remember it’s a GPGPU. So you are lifted from most limits you had on previous consoles. I think that if you have problems making a great looking game on Wii U then it’s not a problem of the hardware.

Here's the rest of the article.

#242609 PS4/XB1 launch lineup is "Meh" -Reggie Fils-Aime

Posted by BlueBlur on 29 August 2013 - 09:15 AM

IGN

During an interview with IGN, Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime defended Wii U's value proposition for consumers this Fall.

As we reported earlier, Nintendo will cut the price of Wii U by $50 in the US starting September 20. So we asked Reggie what are the incentives for consumers to choose Nintendo, especially since their home console is $100 cheaper than its closest competitor.

It’s all about the games. The competitive systems have announced their launch lineups. I’m allowed to say ‘Meh,’” Fils-Aime said. “I look at our lineup of titles and I feel good about our lineup. We’ve got Zelda. We’ve got Mario. We’ve got Donkey Kong. In addition to great titles like Pikmin 3 and Wonderful 101, I feel very good about our lineup, and I feel very good about the value proposition we’re putting out there for the consumer.”

But Nintendo’s competition is also adding new technologies to the home console experience. They are introducing services like cloud gaming, cross-platfrom play between handheld and home systems, the ability to buy a single game that can be shared on a home and handheld platforms. How does Nintendo plan to compete with those services?

In response, Fils-Aime continued to hammer the point that, in the end, all the consumer cares about is great games and great experiences.

“We’ve got cloud technology that we’re delivering with Wii U. Nintendo TVii is all cloud-based technology. But the difference is, we don’t talk about the tech. We talk about the experience. We make sure that the consumer has fun with the game experiences that we provide, “ Fils-Aime told IGN.
And so I think as you compare and contrast Nintendo with other players in the space, for us it’s about games, about the fun, about the entertainment value, and not about the tech.”

I personally think he has no place to say this considering it took Nintendo almost a year to get a game worth buying on the Wii U, hell look at the atrocious 3DS launch.

Go back to nintendo rare. Make conker 2 and a third entry that doesn't suck for banjo-kazooie.

You do realize that the Rare we have today isn't the same as the Rareware we knew in the past right?

#236364 Target advertises the Wii U… by showing a Wii console

When the Wii U was first revealed, some people were confused as to whether the console was brand new or simply an add-on for the Wii. Things have become clearer since then, but the uncertainty hasn’t dissipated completely.
Retailer giant Target seems to be among those who remain confused about the Wii U – at least if a recent ad is to go by.
A new ad posted online indicates that Target used a Wii console to show the Wii U. As you can see in the photo above, a GamePad controller sits on top of a Wii system – not a Wii U console

#236162 Double Helix games "explains" why Strider is skipping Wii U

Posted by BlueBlur on 31 July 2013 - 08:19 AM

http://www.siliconer...-are-different/

Why did you skip Wii U since it seems like most of Capcom’s games are on all platforms like DuckTales Remastered or Dungeons & Dragons.

"I don’t necessarily make all of the platform decisions. We try to match the right platform to the right title. Sometimes that’s purely a strategy decision. Sometimes it has to do with technology. Sometimes it has to do with the expertise of any given developer. For this game, we started out on PS3, 360, and PC. As we got more information and actual hardware from next-gen, we saw we would be able to leverage those. Given our release timing is soon after launch we decided that would be a good way to bring it to even more people and add in more bells and whistles."

Notice how i put Quotation marks in explains because they never even mentioned why it isn't coming to the Wii U -_-
