Why is everything about Nintendo vs X or Y for you? That's all I have seen you post, complain about in statuses, etc.

Sad part is Sony / Microsoft fans don't debate whether or not the ps4 / 720 is next gen. Not one person doubts they are. Seriously, stop worrying about silly terms that mean nothing. It makes Nintendo fans like we're overcompensating.

To be honest, my personal opinion is that Microsoft became the "new Nintendo" with the 360. they simply got it right. Everything. And the kept updating, promoting, refreshing, making the system seem fresh year after year.
But that is one system. Every generation is a whole new deal. Nintendo has learned and though they got off to a rocky start, refinements to the Wii U are making is seem like the complete gamers dream (sans the whole lame launch scenario).
PS4 has come out swinging with bad intentions after taking a resounding beating at the hands of both the 360 and the underpowered Wii last generation.
Microsoft was caught by surprise with the upgraded specs of the PS4 and is no doubt trying to reconfigure their specs while not breaking contracts with hardware partners. It's a tough spot.
The PS4 is touting GaiKai, which may or not be a great deal. MS is touting a more robust, built in Kinect experience.
Both with be powerful consoles. but Microsoft may be giving up the edge in power this time, whereas the 360 routinely had better graphics and framerates than the PS3 last gen.
That alone may be the difference between two consoles that don't have a true loyalty base. It's simply a spec war (numbers on paper. Pick which ones look best and go for it).
Xbox development "woes" will only help PS4. the only thing that will hurt all next gen consoles (Wii U, PS4, Xbox) is that true next gen games will be more expensive to produce. time is money. And it will take modelers more time to work with many more polygons. It will take texture artists much longer to work with far more pixels. It will take the engine desgners longer to tap into every nook and cranny of the hardware.
That's just logic.
Interesting to see the new Xbox announcement as Microsoft is also not afraid of a few lies in terms of representing their product like Sony (4K screenshots anyone?), but Microsoft has gotten the marketing down pat. they are VERY good at it. I can imagine seeing some overpaid celebrity endorsing the system, etc. (like that sad, sad, Spanish tennis play that tweeted how great it was to be using a Samsung Galaxy S4... from his iPhone 5. I bet samsung is wanting their money back if they can't pay someone enough to prefer their product. LOL). But until we see the actual games being played off of actual hardware on an actual HDTV that anyone can buy, then it is hard to tell the truth from fiction anymore.
In short, the Xbox troubles mean nothing for PS4. but it does sound like things aren't going as easily for MS as they'd have liked. I guess they'll have to use the higher spec'd system now just to compete. and gamers will pay through the nose to do so. Not just for the system, but for the poor souls that actually fall for the subsidy method...

a lot of them just say Nintendo needs more "Mature" games and new IP's.
Mature/darker looking games: X, Bayonetta 2, Deus EX: HR, Watch Dogs, Assassin's Creed 4, Arkham Origins, Injustice, Call of Duty 2013.
. . . . . scratches head..... Apparently those games aren't mature?
They arent saying those games arent mature; however those are 3rd party games
They said Ninty needs more mature IP's, which would be implying that Mario, Kirby, Zelda, Yoshi, Donkey Kong arent "Mature"
But Im not sure I want Nintendo making games that those people would consider "Mature", because Nintendo has a certain code of ethics about them that I find quite classy, A game doesnt have to be filled with gore and blood and tacos and language to be "Mature".
Nvm I read what you said wrong
.....But im sure those nasty Ninty haters would just love for Nintendo to throw their morals out the window ![]()

Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has outlined why he believes the game industry overall has been in a downturn the past two years. The executive told investors that this is due to two reasons, the first of which has to do with consumers being reluctant to pay the current rates for packaged software when the games are only marginally updated over what is already available

I will buy rayman legends, just not at launch, its kinda down low on my list of games i want
also i bought it because i knew it was going to have great games later down the line, nintendo already said they wasn't lowering the price of the wii u so i bought it, not knowing that the shops themselves would lower the price. Been a nintendo fan all my life, tried the Ps3 for 2 years and got bored of it. only game i miss from that platform is Little Big Planet, while over at nintendo there are alot of games i want to play. so there isn't really anything for me on the other consoles.

One way Nintendo could rock E3 is to allow people after E3 to download every demo that was on the show floor. Even giving stores a Disk with all of them so if you can't download you just pick one of those for free.
If they do this it should be after the media has time to talk about the games. So maybe a month after. And with magazines they could give that disk to so their subscribers will have the demoes.
What do you think?
what i have found out over the years as a nintendo fan.... if it makes TOO much sense its NOT going to happen.

well how bout over 50. cartoony? who cares its about the games. i play the wii u more than any other console ever.and i have owned all of them back to pong.people complain about 3rd party support? ps3 has less than this at launch. wii u is fine and so is nintendo. nintendo makes great games they will always be at the top. by the way not planning on buying the ps4 or new xbox at launch. they will be the first launch i dont buy in. 8 gigs ram is for videoing your game for friends. i buy consoles to play games. wii u does it and does great.as for pc ill be damned if i would sit in front of a small screen with a pc instead of my plasma.

In the past 3 months, I have downloaded Okami HD, Sleeping Dogs, Gravity Rush, Uncharted GA, Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, Dead or Alive 5 and also small budget titles that I wouldn't give it a try if not for the PS+ deals.
There are also games that I don't want to buy because I already owned it (Dead or Alive 5 on 360 but my friend got it on PS3, Okami on PS2 and I dislike buying digital copy of a game so getting Okami HD for free is awesome imo). I know I already owned some of the games on other consoles but having it on my PS3 "for free" allows me to play with my friends who only have PS3.
For me, the PS+ deals is worth it for especially for those who wants to play many games or wanted to play the game first and buy the physical copy later on when it's really cheap just like me.

So then why does Iwata keep coming out and apologizing all the time? Why isn't he saying, "A lot of people in the media are asserting that the Wii U is in a bad spot, but our progress is actually comparable to the launches of other popular game consoles"? If the sales are really nothing to be concerned about, where is the narrative of doom coming from and why does it seem to be accepted by the Nintendo leadership and much of the fan base?
I like the family route, especially if they air ads on channels such as Cartoon Network or Nick. I wonder how the Wii U will fare against the PS4 when that comes out. I like my Wii U, and I'm hoping to use the Chat feature someday.

Wii U might still have no such captivating game title as "Wii Sports" for Wii, with which people immediately comprehended its product value, but it surely has a lot of factors appreciated by users.

Company-wide, Nintendo recorded poorer sales than last year, when the company made its historic first ever loss. It avoided a repeat performance entirely due to currency exchange gains, which pushed an otherwise disappointing result to 7 billion yen (£46 million) in the black.
Despite the doom and gloom of the past two years' financial results it's worth remembering that Nintendo remains a rich company, with 1.45 trillion yen (£9.54 billion) in assets.

It's definitely a service to get if you're a Playstation owner, yes. $50 for a year, and a free game/various discounts each week. The free games that you have downloaded (or added to your download list) can be downloaded at any time for as long as you are a PS+ subscriber.
Long story short: GET IT YOU FOOL
