Here's a good example from this afternoon of why I created this suggestion thread: http://thewiiu.com/t...h-the-hardware/
It's literally just a link. Nothing else at all. That would be a bad post even in the News section.

Another really fun series is Professor Layton. There are a number of entries, mostly for DS but the most recent, Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask, is 3DS. The games have fun stories and the gameplay centers around point-and-click style exploration and really neat puzzle-solving.

You may want to try Fire Emblem: Awakening on your 3DS. It has rave reviews from pretty much everyone who's played it and is known for good character development. It's a tactical RPG and a demo is available on the eShop. I had never played a game with its gameplay style before and was therefore hesitant at first, but I really enjoyed the demo and plan to get the full game sooner or later.

A few comments have been made, by me and others, about how the different forums are being crowded by threads that are literally just a link, or a link/video with a few words. Could we have a forum just for the people who want to constantly post links/brief news items? Ideally posting in that forum wouldn't add to a user's number of posts/rep/etc.
We already have a News forum but it isn't updated very much, and only with the biggest news items.
Or if others don't see a real difference between discussion threads and the now very common news/link threads, I'd be happy to hear another opinion.

The problem Nintendo didn't design the console to do these things. Wii U can do your number one, two and 4. But just not as well. Why do you think Sony and Microsoft has 8 cores and 8GB of ram? To do these things and do them well.
Nintendo should do their own thing. Come up with a unique selling point and go with it. They aren't copiers, they are innovator's.
Totally agree. I don't care for most of what's in the OP's list, especially stuff like voice commands and face recognition. To be honest, I'm not really sure what I'd want. When I see most discussions about gaming on the internet, I feel like some old fogey who isn't with the times, but I really just don't care much about what the system does besides turn on and play games.
When someone says, "Do you want voice commands" etc. then I know I don't want that, but if someone were to ask me how I would improve the Wii U's OS I'm not sure what I'd say. I really just want good games. But, like you're saying, if Nintendo could innovate and show me something that I didn't know I needed or would really like, that would be fine. As it is, I don't care about all the bells and whistles of the PS4 and Xbox One like sharing, video recording, multitasking and all this stuff.
And the thing is, I'm not an old fogey. I'm 27. Am I really weird?!?! It seems some might say that I'm a "casual gamer" but the thing is I don't see why not caring about all that extra stuff would make me a casual gamer. Wouldn't it make me a serious gamer and non-enthusiast-of-consoles-masquerading-as-PCs?

Well I'm sorry! I am in school at the moment and the website is blocked, but I read it this morning and wanted to inform everyone as soon as I could. If you want a thread that is all nifty then create your own. I have the right to create a thread how I please. IMO.
Any reason you singled out my reply to Nollog rather than complaining about both of our comments?
I don't mean to offend you but it really is annoying when the "recent threads" list on the main page is constantly being refreshed with threads that are just news links (I'm thinking mostly of Julio93 and Zinix' posts). It doesn't actually foster discussion because threads keep getting pushed down by new links and the inevitable re-posts of "newsworthy items" cause discussions to be split up, which in turn leads to more work for the mods who are already spread thin. It also seems to be a form of self-promotion.

This guy has been right in the past.
...and he also said in this thread that GCN virtual console games (like Super Mario Sunshine!) will be shown at E3!!

"However, its package sales were generally soft."
You literally just repeated one of the OP points.
No no, he pointed out a hilarious sentence. Just read it. Again and again.

Article says the 3ds has also been a disappointment outside of Japan. Really? I think it has done very well, especially the past year. Biased media again, no story on Sony and it's troubles with the Vita.
Yeah I was under the impression that the 3DS had a rough start but has really taken off in the last year and a half or so.

It was sarcasm
I'm just a high school student. I don't let gaming over rule my life or anything, and the truth is I actually don't play games THAT often.
Well just consider it free advice for when you get older then. ![]()
