#310487 Titanfall 2 confirmed for PS4, Xbone and PC

Posted by CUD on 13 March 2015 - 06:04 PM

They are ex infinityward guys who made CoD. The game functions pretty much the same so his comparison was astute.

Yeah, that's why I don't see what was funny about what I said. CoD doesn't appeal to me so putting mechs in CoD doesn't either.

#309791 new fighting indie game for Wii U... Strength Of Sword

Posted by CUD on 27 February 2015 - 04:06 PM

I think this game looks more interesting

Honestly the one in the OP looks super bland

Wow that does look cool. I'm very interested in seeing more of that.

Strength of Sword looks good on the surface but my first impressions are that it will get repetitive. The amount of animations shown over and over in that trailer just makes me think it'll get old pretty quick. Just an early impression so take that for what you will.

#309741 Sakurai comments on the quality of Steam

Posted by CUD on 27 February 2015 - 01:07 AM

In his semi-weekly column with Weekly Famitsu, Masahiro Sakurai used his time to commemorate Valve Corporation's digital distribution platform, Steam.

You don't have to rack your brain trying to think what correlation Sakurai has with the online store, as none of his titles have been featured on Steam. This seems just to be a simple acknowledgement from one professional to another at a job well-executed.

Kotaku has translated some of Sakurai's piece:

"I write this because on varying levels, I have complaints with every other online shopping format." says Sakurai.

"When someone opens Steam, depending on their purchase and viewing history, suggested titles pop up. And there are sales almost every day with massive deals. The changes vary, making me check in frequently."

He also praised the amount of thought that's been invested into making Steam a go-to source for legitimate reviews and feedback. Steam's policies do not allow for internet trolls or single, unsatisfied users to spam negative feedback or affect a title's reputation beyond what should be allowed.

It means something, when a successful professional takes the time to acknowledge the work of another. This is especially true when the two aren't financially affiliated.

Steam really is the go-to source when it comes to online gaming stores, and evidently, this is for good reason.

#309351 Get your hopes up about Zelda Wii U and Xenoblade X, but not too much (imo)

Dang, sometimes I feel like no one cares about making good games any more other than Ninty..

Nintendo makes good games but seriously?

#309303 Banner Submission Guidelines

Posted by CUD on 19 February 2015 - 08:13 PM

Looks nice! I think matrix is making one too so I guess we will have a vote when the time comes.

Don't forget the wii u banner is an overlay so the banner image should be without. There is a photo shop file template in this thread, 2nd post to help.

Okey. Matrix will probably make a better one.  :P

Yeah I know, I've got the psd so I can easily remove the banner image. I just exported the image with the banner so you could get a better idea of what it would look like as the banner.

Splatoon is coming out in May... we could use a banner after Mario Party 10 releases on March 20th.

I decided to put something together, not entirely happy with it but I'll try to make some changes if people have suggestions.

#308951 Valentine's day

Posted by CUD on 14 February 2015 - 05:30 PM

Watched Fifty Shades of Grey with the gf and then went out to dinner.

Oh and we had to visit my cousins earlier in the day since it's her birthday on Valentine's Day, kind of awkward and annoying with how formal my family can be at times but it's bearable.

#307276 New Xenoblade X Trailer discussion

Posted by CUD on 20 January 2015 - 02:44 PM

Don't be butthurt because you were wrong. You stated they were getting worse when evidence has been shown that is false. Move on. Don't like being corrected esp posting the same ignorance we keep seeing then don't post it. Simple. No one is being mean just being honest.

I said it seemed like it was getting worse, as in from my memory of the earlier trailers. I'm just not impressed by the game's graphics that's why the little improvements they have made don't seem so great to me. My memory could fail me and the other trailer might look worse than this new one if I could find it now to compare but I'm not really bothered, so my impression could be wrong but that's all I was stating. The improvements I saw were so small that's why I'm not impressed, they're improvements that you only notice if you see when comparing side by side and even then you have to triple check to see the difference.

I was never going on a rant that the game is factually less impressive than previously, I said it seemed less impressive to me. If other people are less impressed by it then that is their impression too and not ignorance. Ignorance would be if I denied there were improvements, I'm not doing that but I also don't feel the improvements are significant ones.

You really have to keep in mind that my impression isn't one of someone that has this game at the top of their wishlist, it's someone who has simply seen footage and has a slight interest in it.

Please don't claim that you're not being mean when clearly you were being so with your aggressive tone, your emotional investment into this game has made you misinterpret my impressions of a game that I only see from time to time as me making some great slanderous claim against this game. I really don't appreciate your tone when all I was doing was sharing how I felt, there's just no need for such aggression when I just want a normal discussion.

#307205 Sonic Boom Gets Mystery Massive 1 GIG Patch...

Posted by CUD on 19 January 2015 - 02:23 PM

Now they just need to patch Sonic 2006, Shadow the hedgehog game, etc.

I haven't played Sonic '06 but from what I've seen the multitude of glitches isn't its only problem, its game design itself seems poorly done. It being released like that suggests it was a lack of budget or just poor planning, what the real case is I'm not sure.

I have heard the game design of this game, Sonic Boom, isn't great either but they did have issues with development since most of their team quit.

#307203 Sonic Boom Gets Mystery Massive 1 GIG Patch...

Posted by CUD on 19 January 2015 - 02:04 PM

On a Nintendo console, a game that receives a 1 gig patch is massive lol.  I'm sure many are use to the small 7 - 40 gig patches from Ubisoft. hehe.

You can thank destructiod for the "massive" terminology .

Yeah I noticed that it wasn't you calling it massive and I suppose for Nintendo consoles that could be on the massive side. I'm just used to PC where a 1GB patch isn't very big at all, sure most patches are smaller but a 1GB one wouldn't surprise me.

#307199 Sonic Boom Gets Mystery Massive 1 GIG Patch...

Posted by CUD on 19 January 2015 - 01:49 PM

Damn, 1GB! That's huge. /sarcasm

This is 2015, 1GB isn't massive. Calling that massive just really put me off.

Anyway, it's good that they're at least trying to fix this game. I heard quite a bit of the team that worked on the game quit during development so it's no wonder it took a while for this patch but better late than never.

As a Sonic fan, this would be a Wii U game I would want to own and play even if it doesn't seem that great I'd still like to play it at some point.

#307138 New 3ds thread

Eh, I might get one, to have something Nintendo...

Get one then sell it a week later to buy another Vita.

#306795 Any one else here looking forward to Evolve?

Posted by CUD on 13 January 2015 - 03:05 PM

I am, I just hope they make mac support for it on pc. Yes I use mac......

There is no word on Mac support yet and I wouldn't say it's all that likely either. Mac really isn't ideal for gaming.

EDIT: Actually confirmed it wont be on Mac: https://talk.turtler...-support/1248/2
