Nintendo already had the most powerfull console once (N64) and one of the second most powerfull console too (GC). Did it help Nintendo? No.
The market always said that it doesn`t  care about graphics or processing power.
 
People have always criticized Nintendo: too kiddie; underpowered, etc. It`s always something.
3rd parties like EA have since a lot of time a go, unsupported Nintendo consoles. Nothing new. It`s about the userbase: if they buy all kinds of games, companies will support them.

This comment is true, Nintendo haven't really led the most powerful machine awards since the SNES. Aft that they always concentrated on solid titles to hold their machines together.

The Wii U is fine. Just lacking in software support. That'll come though as more units are sold. And why did we all buy the Wii U in the first place, to play FIFA? I think not. To play Mario and other Nintendo franchised games. Yes indeed.

As you can see the Wii U logo is inside the Destiny logo

At E3 Jason Jones (founder of Bungie) will enter the Nintendo Direct with Iwata and Miyamote. With a big troll smile on their face and Reggie's laugh in the background Iwata announces that despite being confirmed for all other consoles, Destiny will be a Wii U exlusive. Miyamoto talks about how EAD and Bungie have been working together on the title saying it will be his best game/IP until now exept from Mario, which by the way will be the final boss of Destiny. Iwata passes the word over to Jones who talks a little about the game and about Wii U's hidden hardware and how it's 7.5 times stronger than the highest end public consumer hardware ATM. (Maybe, but not confirmed) before he he says: "Sorry to keep you waiting" 

The screen blackens and shows a 30min trailer for Destiny showing game-play for the first time and talks about key features.

In excitement the entire human population instantly clones themselves (but not into identical beings, but new people) 4 times over. Destiny and Wii U then releases as a bundle on 15.June 2013, goes on to sell 27.6 billion copies over the entire planet, curing world hunger and magically builds one of those huge white spaceships from Destiny. All completes the game at the same time ending with their souls leaving their body that construct a city under the white spaceship, leaving the few survivors to fend for themselves against the evil X1 fanboys who have been turned to evil aliens by Micro$oft's greed. Turning the events of Destiny into reality.

So just for fun, what Predictions are you making for Nintendo's Megaton announcement(s).

 

They can be actually what you want to see (let us know which ones) or just absolutely silly like a couple of these.

 

1) Miyamoto arrives with Iwata's head on a pike, as he and Reggie do a tribal dance around Iwata's corpse, this not only marks a new leader of Nintendo but also introduces a brand new horror themed first person game. 

 

2) Iwata appears next to Mario Luigi, Sonic and Tails announcing that after all current and cross generation games currently in production Nintendo will be absorbing Sega's publishing. Some of Sega's publishing team will be working on Nintendo games and some of Nintendo's publishing team will be working on Sega games as a cross fertilisation plan. Sega and the Sega brand will remain a development company, but a first party development company. Again some Sega development staff will be allowed to work on Nintendo games and some key Nintendo staff will be working on Sega games in order to cross generate ideas into each-other's IPs. (PS: Something I'd actually like to see) As a parody note Mario, Luigi, Sonic  and Tails all act Iwata's words through interpretive mime!

 

3) Iwata announces a partnership with Google to bring the Google Play store to the Wii U. Selected apps compatible with the system such as Angry Birds, Plants vs Zombies, and Draw Something will be available at launch. Google will be providing its chromium source code to improve the web browsing experience with the inclusion of Flash support. Google in turn will provide an app to allow people to play games that allow "Off TV mode" to play on the Android operating system along with designing an official Android based Miiverse App. (what I wouldn't mind seeing - based on rumors)

 

4) Nintendo recreates the Unreal 4 elemental demo using Nintendo characters using different art styles including Photorealistic (at the beginning) as a short sharp f-you to Epic Games.   (actually I'd like to see this too, it'd be hilarious)

 

5) Reggie comes on stage naked, oiled up and says to camera "My body is ready, is yours?" before the Nintendo Direct introduction video starts.

 

6) An hour long Nintendo direct with Reggie recreating the torture scene of reservoir dogs with the CEO of EA tied to the chair....

Angry Birds might break Miiverse.
