Once again completly missed every point on marketing. I just.. i don't even. . I DON'T EVEN.

Who fking cares how annoying they are. Their money is as good as anyone elses. The Wii U will sink without them because the casual maket the Wii had has moved on,

I can't even attempt to be reasonable or logical with you fanboys anymore. bye bye. Enjoy getting slauterd in Sales by the Ps4 in the coming weeks.

No, you have NO CLUE what you are talking about, but think you know something everybody else doesnt, when in fact, EVERYONE knows what you are trying to say, its actually common knowledge and we disagree with it. My original post adresses EVERYTHING you have been bringing up.

NO. Kids today are NOT into 'dark gritty bs now'.

ITS ALWAYS BEEN LIKE THAT. 'Dark and gritty' are seen as adult seals of approval desperately sought after by adolescent children. Its no different now, than it was back then. Thats why sega spent billions on psychological study of american children, which resulted in a series of ad campaigns designed to label nintendo as kiddy, sega as adult, and make kids embarrassed of nintendo. Its one of the most succsessful campaigns in history, and the ramnifications are still in effect today, as some of those kids affected by that campaign are now gamz jirnoliz still spouting the same garbage in segas ads.

The problem you dont know about, is thats just a short term solution, with long term ramnifications. Most kids will, like Mr Lewis says, grow out of that stage and realize how childish that really is. And now you have your entire image that youve built up, that only works for a specific age, for a specific time.

Howd that work out sega?

Tell me, is this still cool?

Nintendo works for the long term goal, not the short term flash. Sometimes they miss trends, but they also avoid pitfalls, Nintendo remains classic. Its why theyve been around so long, and why theyll be around long after the effects of this garbage generation collapse.

#256919 Happy Anniversary, Wii U.

Posted by DanI on 18 November 2013 - 11:29 PM

I bought my Wii U almost a couple of weeks ago and I'm very happy with it. I never owned another console, except for a 3DSXL, which I also bought earlier this year... I think this makes me a Nintendo fan :) I don't intend to buy other consoles; the 3DS and the Wii U are enough for my family's gaming needs.

The only bad thing is I can't find many games in our shops here, so I have to order them online... And postal services aren't very good. I was lucky to find a single NSMBU disk yesterday in a shop and I bought it immediately :)

#256933 5 Reasons Parents Should Pick Wii U Over PS4 and Xbox One

Well, it's nice to see an article like this pop up. It's not bashing the other platforms, but providing reasons why parents might feel more comfortable with the purchase of a Wii U.

I'm fine with my launch Wii U. There were a few months where there was nothing to play (December,January,February,April,May). But since June things have been picking up in releases. As for launch stories. Not really Wii U related per se, but I really enjoyed the period of time around launch. Shadocon the day before, Wii U launch, and Thanksgiving break for the whole week, letting me play Wii U in peace.

#256865 Pikmin 3 review

Posted by NintendoReport on 18 November 2013 - 02:10 PM

I have to dismiss everything i said about this game,i just picked up another wii u ( it was CHEAP and i couldnt miss mario kart 8 when it comes out lol) this game is GREAT with very good graphics..the youtube vids ive seen of it make it look like not a far step up from the gamecube but man i was wrong....ive only done day 1 so far but the graphics are alot better than i expected and im really enjoying it...will post again when ive played a bit more :) oh i got my 32gb wii u with blops2 and pikmin 3 for £120 secondhand off a guy who wanted cash for a xbox one...i just couldnt resist at that price lol

Hey bro, glad you picked another Wii U up, 2014 has great games coming so I am looking forward to seeing you on the race track !

I agree, Pikmin 3 in person is something incredible, screens usually look great but in person even more so. Don't forget the DLC content available for it too, and inexpensive!

#256708 Diminishing returns? a quick screen shot look PS4-WiiU

just wait till next gen, where the majority of gamers can bairly tell the difference, and see all the people screaming ugly to near unnoticable differences.

I said it from day one, games on PS4 and Xbone barely look a generation ahead than PS360. And idiots are trying to compare PS4 to Xbone already lol it's pathetic.

#255786 Wii U, The Worst Holiday Gift This Season.

Posted by Guy Fieri on 12 November 2013 - 05:01 PM

Gotta love how they state no reason at all as to why it's a bad gift. Just that "it's a dud" and "XBO/PS4 are the only consoles people want this season". No legit complaints about games/online/account system/3rd party support/etc. Just seems like cheap shot and saying "lol Wii U sucks" for the sake of it. Not to mention this really feels like bait for fanboys. I could name some other tech items that are worse than this for Christmas, Ouya specifically comes to mind.

#254428 CoD Ghosts Wii U to run at 880x720

Posted by Pjsprojects on 03 November 2013 - 02:34 PM

If your wondering on a WiiU purchase then join the club...

It's a naff graphical game so no big deal on PS4 or PC.

Does have off screen play so all good but will it get dlc???
Just wait until its bargain bin in a few months, that way you will know if its supported.

#256025 Getting a Wii U tomorrow! What accessories should I get?

Posted by Bengdogg on 13 November 2013 - 11:29 AM

Ok so tomorrow I get a Wii U with Mario U & Luigi U. I am wanting to use VC and play Wii games too so I am thinking I need a Wiimote and a Nunchuck then at least one Wiimote for each player as we enjoy a bit of multiplayer in our house. Is the pro controller worth it or not as I dont want to have to buy too much stuff. I am thinking of getting the party pack to get a the 1st Wiimote sorted but it's not really that obvious as Mario U has a funny multiplayer where the gamepad becomes a block placing pad??!! I just want to be sure I order the right things so Mario world 3d can be enjoyed in a group when Xmas comes :D

Thanks

#255905 Very long rant about Nintendo.

Posted by Azure-Edge on 13 November 2013 - 06:54 AM

Yeah, I get that you don't want to shoot everything out at once.  I went out and read a lot of the reviews from the launch, and people/reviewers for the most part seemed happy with the system but people were thinking that a lot of these games were coming out in the near future- Rayman (I know, Ubisoft), W101, Pikmin etc.  It seems like a lot of the early adopters got upset about the time I bought mine (April)- then you heard a lot of people- and still hear people complaining about the lack of games. Some of this is exaggerated (I have a backlog of games that I've barely touched)- but some of it isn't, especially with the new consoles on their way.  Are there even a dozen exclusives a year after launch?  They have the resources to produce more games and to get them out in a more timely manner.

Have you ever owned any other console at launch before? Because I would consider this to be pretty normal to slightly below par for a first year. If you're expecting them to get a new exclusive game for every year then you're going to be sorely disappointed with the other two systems. Speaking for first party, just because they have one development team at work on a Wii U game doesn't necessarily mean all the rest are ready as well. Nintendo does have another device to make games for and teams finish up work at different times so not everyone is able to begin working on their Wii U games at once.

Take Sakurai for example. Last year he was still busy at work with Kid Icarus until around March. Even if he jumped straight off of that project and on to Smash Bros. then he's still had less than two years to work on the game. It's going to be amazing if we see that game ready any time before fall or winter of next year. That being said I do think that Nintendo needs to work on expanding their staff and getting more studios under their belt as much as possible. Especially since third parties are basically giving the Wii U the finger. They can't rely on just Miyamoto and Sakurai forever. This is where I agree with Rich in that they do need to get new blood in to their company. Not necessarily people who are going to try to 'westernize' or CoD up Nintendo, I don't think anyone with half a brain wants that, but at least new people with new ideas. Nintendo needs a few more Retros and a few more close, almost second party, partners like Platinum.

#255802 Very long rant about Nintendo.

Posted by Azure-Edge on 12 November 2013 - 07:08 PM

y'know, Rich typically does have a good head on his shoulders and does make intelligent comments and opinions...but when it comes to Nintendo this guy turns into a friggin' silly pony. He just doesn't seem to get how the company operates and them being successful seems to irritate him. He's basically asking for Nintendo to stop being Nintendo and that is STUPID and ignorant. Oh, they don't offer any of shallow, insecure grim 'n gritty stuff? Whoop-dee-doo, neither do a lot of studios. To me this is a classic example of man acting like HIS problems are Nintendo's. They're not. It's not Nintendo's fault that you steered towards the "mature" games out of some desperate need for approval.

To be fair, I've been watching for Reviewtech for a long time now, and Rich is a lot of things but he's no pony. He's actually one of the few people who has honestly given the Wii U a fair shot and sees it for both the goods and the bads. In fact, I'd say he has been one of the systems' strongest supporters outside of people who just come across as pure fanboys. He's not exactly wrong when he said they had a shot of knocking it out of the park this gen (There were going to be some things against them as always but they could have been so much more prepared).

Where he is wrong though is acting as if there is something wrong with what Nintendo is doing based on nothing more than aesthetics, which is what I got out of that video. Whether or now people want to admit it, this industry NEEDS Nintendo. They need Nintendo to pump in fresh ideas and new concepts as well as basically being the only major company to go after the younger demographic and not treat them as second class consumers. Why in the hell would it be smart for them to give up doing what has made them money and instead try to compete for a demographic that is already getting so oversaturated that sales are going down? Do I think Nintendo could make a 'mature' game? Sure, and maybe that's what these guys are so annoyed about. They want to see one of the biggest and very best company show everyone else how it's done. But it's not their forte and that group is already well cared for.

Nintendo is basically the DIsney of gaming. They have the most iconic characters and appeal to the young while not abandoning the truly mature (C'mon, we all know you guys love to watch some classic Disney). They don't need to make gritty action movies because they already have their niche and they excel at it.

I seriously doubt these events will affect each other.

#254669 Play Super Mario 3D World at Pottery Barn Teen

Posted by Kokirii on 05 November 2013 - 02:27 PM

Well, they have done an atrocious job of marketing.  When I tell people about my Wii U, they look at me rather puzzled and I have to just say the new Wii.  then they say, "Oh, I didn't know that they had one...."

I don't even say "Wii U" anymore.  I just say "the new Wii" or "Nintendo's new console, the successor to the Wii."
