I stopped by Target today for grins b/c I had an errand to run nearby..... While they didn't have a great selection of games (only 25 or so0, the Wii U section was at least in the aisle and prominent. And they had an ad running for Wii Fit U on the TVs.

I'm both, I suppose- I got one in April, then got another one (zelda wind waker edition) for when we visit mom with the kids. She uses it to watch Netflix and actually plays scribblenaughts. I think the timing was about right for me in April, tho it was a little slow for about six weeks. Things picked up a lot by Aug./Sept. when Pikmin, the W101 and Rayman came out. Now, with Mario 3d, Sonic, Deus Ex, Pac Man, I have a lot on my plate and might actually wait a month after DCKTF comes out to pick it up.....

Well, you can add one to the Dec. numbers. I bought the Wind Waker bundle on Dec. 1st. I couldn't pass it up- wanted a second one for when I go to my mom's and she can use it to play Scribblenaughts, watch netfix....

I'm along the same lines, tho I have played the Wii version and 3ds. I'm excited for it, but if it takes a bit longer, it won't kill me b/c I have a backlog of games on both systems. that said, Nintendo needs to get this out sooner than later for sales. and- if there were a single game that I bought the Wii U for, it's this one. But like you, I can be patient.
I'm excited for Mario cart, to be perfectly honest. The last one I play was for the N64, which I no longer have. (Not sure what happened to it.) However, I'm a patent guy, so as long as the situation remains optiml for making, selling, buying, and playing video games, I could care less if it came out yesterday or december 2014. But... that's just me. I'd perfer a Summer release, so as to catch up on buying those games I don't have just yet.

I don't think one game will save it, but the more games we have like the ones you mention will make a more and more compelling case for it. I bought the Wii U b/c it looked cool and knew these games would eventually come out- granted, didn't think it would take this long. But, I think there's a lot of people who HAVE to HAVE Smash Bros., Donkey Kong and/or Mario Kart..... IF I didn't buy on impulse back in April and showed some restraint- I think Mario Kart would have put me over the edge.
I'm still positive that WiiU sales will pick up but... Iwata said Pikmin 3 would save it. Result: No. The Wonderful 101? No. Wind Waker HD? No. Super Mario 3D World? Doesn't look like it. Does ONE game can save a console? No.

I don't think it's a mistake to market toward families- but I think it's a mistake to not promote some of the other games too.

If Donkey Kong, Smash Bros. and Mario Kart are even close to what Mario 3d is looking like it's going to be, Nintendo will be fine.

All I know is that I think the games on my Wii U look pretty awesome and really don't care how the others look.
just wait till next gen, where the majority of gamers can bairly tell the difference, and see all the people screaming ugly to near unnoticable differences.

Nano Assault is really cool looking. It's hard tho- or at least for me it's hard.
Pikmin- haven't played it much but from reviews, both published and the ones on these boards, you can't go wrong with it.
Injustice- pretty cool just based on the fighting mode alone if you like that sort of thing. I'd imagine you can get it for substantially cheaper than the original price. I'd also recommend Tekkin.
How is injustice, pikmin and nano assault? Those are the three in really wanting for Christmas right now.
