#231069 Lets analyze and compare Bayonetta 2' gameplay

Posted by Rockodoodle on 12 July 2013 - 11:14 AM

I played an Xbox last weekend- people who make the claim that Wii U is equal to/competitive with or just above Xbox/PS3 are either outright lying, or haven't played a Wii U.  Xbox is sharp- Wii U is clearly a step above.

It's ridiculous how we're still trying to prove the Wii U can handle more then last gen consoles.

#230561 Do you think people under rate Nintendo's exclusives?

Posted by Rockodoodle on 10 July 2013 - 03:30 PM

they should have spread out their releases.... Mixed in a starfox or metroid.... I suppose I'm fine with what they have but the talk of a mario galaxy at this point with no starfox or metroid, plus releasing luigi this soon- probably should have waited at least until Xmas for that.  BUT, I do like Mario when he's with his friends-mariokart, smash brothers, and winter olympics looks cool.  I'll prolly wait a while on mario 3d.

Yes they do in my opinion, but I do think Mario is getting slightly overrated. Too many games.

#230478 Wii U System Review

Posted by Rockodoodle on 10 July 2013 - 07:51 AM

I've enjoyed the system far more than I thought I would.  Granted, I probably got mine later than you did (April).  As I've said, I have been very entertained with the games that I have and next year at this time, there will be more very compelling games than I'll be able to afford to get.  There's at least 8-10 that I want by the end of the year.

Awesome review dude, you kind of rekindled my flame for the Wii U, I was bothered about 3rd party support quite a bit and I havn't really played mine in a while, this review pointed out all the things that got me exited about the Wii U in the first place that I kinda forgot about, this review kinda just makes me wanna run to my Wii U and play it til the early hours of the morning like I used to, thank you for that my friend :D

#230269 Nintendo to announce secret “brand-new types of games” for Wii U soon

Posted by Rockodoodle on 09 July 2013 - 02:35 PM

I think most people probably consider video games in general somewhat adolescent at best, not matter how adult the theme.....

My GF has two sons born 16 years apart. We play Smash Bros and MarioKart- a 43 year old, a 21 year old and a five year old. That's priceless. That's what's cool about Nintendo.

If Mario and Zelda games are KIDDY, then I like KIDDY games ... I have a Vita and PS3, none of the ADULT games come anywhere close to the awesome game play found in Nintendo's KIDDY games!

#226925 amazon has several games on sale....

Posted by Rockodoodle on 27 June 2013 - 03:11 PM

Still, a good opportunity to pick up some titles at a reduced price....

I just think they are being cheap, nothing to do with a sale or anything :-)

#225759 What Nintendo should do next year.

Posted by Rockodoodle on 24 June 2013 - 10:49 AM

Good post- I think that they came out with at least enough titles to make the system more compelling.  There might be a limited library, but there are/will be at least 20 titles (including those already out) that I will want between now and next spring.

I have a problem with the last statement. They didn't announce any surprise at E3, but they did announce a game changer with An Exclusive Partnership with Sega. Which means three exclusive Sonic games. Two of those games are known, and the last Mario and Sonic games sold many units, which those fans will obviously want the new one and to do that ... They need a Wii U.

The last exclusive Sonic game sold on Wii over one million, and same on DS. Which, again, assuming at least the Wii owners will want the new Sonic World, that will move Wii U's. And that's not including old Gen PS3 or 360 owners who are looking for Wii U because of Xbox One fiasco.

Donkey Kong on Wii sold more than any other Retro title. It moved over five million units. That was also a surprise, because very few people guess Donkey Kong as the next Retro title. Now you tell me, is a game selling barely 2 million (any Prime game) a better choice then a game that sold over five million? Yes, it's playing it safe. But that is because Nintendo needs to sell units.

Mario 3D Land sold better than Galaxy 2, and almost better than Galaxy 1. At the 13th month mark, it actually did surpass Galaxy. And you know what the biggest feature people wanted from that game? Multiplayer. Guess what the sequel has? Multiplayer. 3DS owners who loved that game will now want to buy a Wii U. And, being a bigger better game with better HD graphics, people like myself will buy this game too. Which means more Wii U's that will have to be sold.

I also believe Pikman 3 will be a big system seller. Enough people wanted it at launch. Same with Wonderful 101.

Playing it safe? Yes. Which means Nintendo is making games they know will sell Wii U's. That's their job, which will get publishers interested to make more games for us.

I'm not saying they didn't play it safe. But they are making games that will sell units and make them money.

Note: Might I also say I wasn't sold on Mario 3D World until I saw the developer interview. And I think my kids will like it too.

#225375 Mario Kart 8

This is the reason I bought a Wii U.... or at least part of the reason.  Can't imagine not being able to play Mario Bros., Mario Kart, Donkey Kong etc.....

#222738 Should Nintendo Drop the Wii U GamePad

I love the way the controller feels in my hands, even if it's not utilized....

#214756 How many games do you "need?"

Posted by Rockodoodle on 02 June 2013 - 12:55 PM

I'm a "light"/casual gamer. I know that the gripe has been that there aren't enough games.  Granted, there are some more games I'd like to see, namely Star Fox and the Winter Olympics- hopefully Madden in 2015.  But I'm pretty happy with what's available.  If Nintendo didn't make anymore games, I'd be content for at least year with the ones that I have and the ones available.

I have- Nintendoland, Mario Bros., Sonic Transformers, Madden.

Would like: Trine, Batman, Injustice, Monster Hunter, MarioKart, Olympic Game, Zombie U, possibly Smash Bros.

That would keep me busy for a long time.

#211995 Why do I have a Wii U?

Posted by Rockodoodle on 27 May 2013 - 06:00 PM

I like Nintendo stuff.... always have.  I thought my GF's son was getting one for Xmas from his dad, but it just turned out to be a Wii.  I was excited about getting the Wii U and was so disappointed that it was just the Wii that I decided to take the plunge.  No regrets. I love my Wii U.

#211365 Your favourite thing about the Wii U

Posted by Rockodoodle on 26 May 2013 - 06:54 AM

Generic response, but I love playing with the gamepad.....I like how the controller feels in my hands.  I also like being able to watch a baseball game and then play a game on the gamepad too.
