#310966 Xenoblade Chronicles 3D - Final Game Stable, Steady Frame Rate

Posted by Marcus on 02 April 2015 - 09:02 AM

So far it's looking very good!!

NintendoLife 9/10

Gamespot 8/10

Gamesradar 9/10

Nintendo-insider 9/10

God is a geek 9/10

Mynintendonews 8.5/10

So probably only slightly lower than the metacritic average for the original if things continue in this pattern. Big sigh of relief!!

[Update]

Got my copy today. Really enjoying playing it on handheld so far. The graphical downgrade is noticeable but doesn't ruin it for me.

The 3D however is really terrible! One of the worst implementations in a 3DS game. It seems to add almost no depth at all.

#310126 Wii U Zelda Map Analysis

I'm keen for populated areas like clock town or twilight's castle town

I like those too. I hope they have a fairly big settlement this time. Something equivalent to New LA in XCX would be cool. I like that sort of thing because it creates a greater contrast between civilisation and the wilderness.

Seriously I'm happy for the people who are exciting for it.

Weirdest comment on the internet today.

#309975 Official Xenoblade Information Thread

The white continent has no snow on it, the area is called the white sands.

A basic sense of pattern recognition should have tipped anyone off on a seemingly bland area in a Xeno game.

Satorl Marsh day:

Bland and colorless, full of vison reducing fog

Psychadelic

Its called contrast and juxtaposition.

Psychadelic

I'm still waiting for the 3DS version to do a proper playthrough of the original.

This is very good information though! Bravo.

#309843 Tantalus’ Wii U port will be announced soon for this year, studio’s biggest .

have no idea what that means but ok

I assume he meant it mirrors your own creativity. People enjoy it more if they have an aptitude to run wild with ideas that work in a sandbox world.

It's great they've managed to preserve the draw distance. That's part of what made the game so great: it's sense of scale.

Lololol "it's good but I'm offended".

My impression of Bayonetta was that the character was supposed to be pro-woman but the camera was supposed to be pro-perv. Seemed like a fair balance.

#309265 Get your hopes up about Zelda Wii U and Xenoblade X, but not too much (imo)

Darksiders is awesome.

I love Darksiders too. Heavily underappreciated series. Look at the Darksiders 2 sales on Wii U, they're abysmal.

#309221 How A Zelda Dungeon Is Made

Look there's no secret to what makes a good Zelda Dungeon, it takes plenty of patience and creative ideas.

Haha it also takes specific ideas.

#309127 Code Name S.T.E.A.M

Posted by Marcus on 17 February 2015 - 02:55 PM

I'll have to give it a go I guess to see how it plays out. Even watching videos, it's a bit hard to grasp the pacing.

Part of it will just come down to how quick you are as a player.I felt that the fact that you can't necessarily see what the enemy is doing is an interesting design approach, but makes the experience feel less fluid. Felt like a lot of starting and stopping.

#308722 If nintendo uses X86 on their next console, will you buy it?

Posted by Marcus on 11 February 2015 - 05:23 PM

Am I allowed to post how dumb it is to buy a console based on architecture?

What he said. This would be like choosing your girlfriend based on eye colour.

#308720 Bravely Second Now Bravely Second: End Layer, DLC And Cover Art Revealed

Posted by Marcus on 11 February 2015 - 05:09 PM

Pretty sure a western release is coming. If I recall, Bravely Default actually sold well in EU and NA.

Yep. The non-Japanese sales outnumbered the Japanese sales by a fair way. We'll almost definitely be getting this. Now we just need them to announce FF Explorers and DQ7.

#308612 Nintendo eShop – Moon Chronicles Episodes 2, 3, 4 Launch Trailer

Posted by Marcus on 10 February 2015 - 06:43 AM

I haven't. :( . EU will be getting iron fall though this Friday! NA hasn't been announced with a specific date.

I think I saw a NA date on their most recent tweet or press release. Something like a week or 2 behind europe.

#308607 Your Top 5 or 10 DS Games

Posted by Marcus on 10 February 2015 - 04:59 AM

1. Phantom Hourglass

2. Chrono Trigger

3. Advance Wars: Dual Strike

4. Final Fantasy IV

5. Super Mario 64 DS

Such a great library to choose from. Glad to see the 3DS will probably outdo it by the end of its lifespan, in game variety if not sales.

#299534 Your Top 5 or 10 DS Games

Posted by Marcus on 01 October 2014 - 08:11 AM

1. Phantom Hourglass

2. Chrono Trigger

3. Radiant Historia

4. Mario 64 DS

5. Final Fanatasy IV

The DS was such a great platform, despite having almost hideous graphical capabilities! Definitely go with Phantom Hourglass before anything else imo. If it wasn't for

the annoying revisting temple, it'd be one of my favourite Zeldas.
