You can't criticise anything that is free?
If Reggie came into your room while you slept and took a dump on your face would you say "I can't complain, it's free from Nintendo!"?
Never said anything about not criticizing anything that's free as this topic was just about the Mario Kart 8 DLC as far as I could tell. Comparing getting crapped on the face and free additional game content for a beloved game doesn't make sense as being reasonably comparable at all. That's almost like saying. "So you like eating yogurt but have a problem getting punched in the throat!?"
If you feel the DLC is so bad to you it's not unlike being crapped on in the face then that's cool. I'm just of a different opinion.
However if the point you are trying to make is free doesn't always = good this is true but I certainly wasn't implying the opposite.

It's hard for me to criticize at all. It's free and a first for DLC in Mario Kart and it's FREE.

If you have not played Earthbound and pass up on it then you don't deserve to play games. Dead serious. It's that good. Earthbound never did much for me either looking at it and when I finally bought it on Eshop instantly became one of my all time fave games. Seriously it's free. To buy SNES cart alone is 150-200 dollars. You get it free. I'm sorry but it's flat stupid to pass up Earthbound when free. Gamings version of passing up a free titty frak from Christina Hendricks.

I've a had a Wii U for a month now. Currently own:
Mario Kart 8
NEW Super Mario Bros. U (Free digital game with MK8 purchase)
Super Mario 3D World
NES Remix
(Technically LoZ: Twilight Princess. It's a Nintendo Select Wii game but I bought it to play it for the first time on my Wii U)
(Mental Note: Need to find a nice display rack of some sort)

I did, earlier tonight. WIth it's apparent flaws I figure can't go wrong for $20 brand new anyway.
I notice the control/feel isn't spectacular so far. Played a little before going to bed now.

Given how fast this title has sold, they would be foolish not to add some tracks. I'd be happy with 6 retro and two new bonus tracks. I'd also pay for new cars and characters.
Nintendo must realize this is a gold mine.
I miss (just to name a few off the top of my head)...
Coconut Mall
Maple Treeway
Bowser Castle (N64)
Daisy Cruise Ship
Some one mentioned Block Fort earlier, I can't imagine the chaos of an extended 12 player Block Fort (but would want to be able to set it to just 4 players if I choose).
I'd want to see Frog (Suit) Mario, Pauline and Candy Kong as DLC characters (again just off the top of my head).
