They could definitely do one, but they're going to have to do something really good, A completely new platforming adventure (possibly a 3D one)
I'd second you on that one. This is the time for Retro to do another reimagining since they just did the "true-to-form with modern benefits" DKCR.

Some funny info about those Zelda games. Back then, Nintendo was interested in releasing a CD add-on for the SNES and had the assistance of Phillips for development. They had a rather fleshed-out relationship and an agreement had been made where Phillips would supply CD drives. One of the stipulations of their agreement was that Phillips would be allowed to release several Nintendo games on their CD-i platform. Therefore Nintendo licensed their top tier IPs for several games! Nintendo was not involved in development at all (and it shows).
If you're wondering what happened to the CD drive: Nintendo eventually ignored their agreement with Phillips (Nintendo was even more arrogant back then than they are now) as they had in fact been in bed with Sony. Sony was very far along developing a CD unit for SNES due to talks, but Nintendo decided to tell Sony to go screw also. Sony's work in developing the add-on culminated in their release of the PSX. Yes, Nintendo's arrogance in fact spawned their own nemesis.
To get actually on topic, dear god Superman 64.
Here's a very good video covering the events of the SNES CD's development.
The SNES CD Story
Just insert the part where Sony takes away most of Nintendo's 3rd parties and there you have it.

If you don't understand why this game is horrible, here it is in all its mediocrity.

And remember: You've played it. You can't unplay it.
#8932 Wii U doubts

It's also silly to just toss aside the integrity of the Wii U by just thinking, "Oh, well when ps4 and xbox720 come out, the wii u is raped". What makes so many make this assumption? MS and Sony are not coming out with anything until at least 2014, and like I said, they know that graphics will not make much of a jump and that's why they are in no rush and are concentrating on trying to innovate motion controls.
And adding to that (according to the anonymous source stating that 2014 target), Microsoft would only release something in 2013 at the earliest. However, that would simply be a 360 with Kinect built-in.
I'm also sure that Sony aren't too encouraged by their last effort to be super-advanced, the PS3. While the system has been profitable as of 2009 (maybe late 2008), it can't be denied that those first 2 years hurt Sony. I'd expect them to aim a bit lower this time which would put them at a more even level with Wii U. They would most likely still be more advanced, but they wouldn't be leaps and bounds beyond Wii U either. Just don't expect a Wii-sized hardware gap or anything.
As Microsoft didn't make the same error and had a more established base on Live at launch, however, they very well could repeat Sony's move this time. Maybe the established userbase would allow that move to pay off, but that has yet to be seen.

I also just became aware of these guys via The Needle Drop.
Battles - Ice Cream
As I found out not long after watching that video, it's oddly close to this video:
Il Guinco - Bombay

I'll be Dr. Crygor from Warioware. Bad Side.
In his own mind he's not evil, but he's a mad scientist. Doing sinister things is in his nature, but he does it for the sake of scientific progress. He's an odd duck. That's why he wears yellow.
As he levels up he'll invent new crazy contraptions. Right now I'd say every 5 levels or so, each one being more useful than the one before.

Anyway, this looks to be a solid title I'll look forward to playing. I really enjoyed Viewtiful Joe (directed by Hideki Kamiya who is part of Platinum), and I'm glad that aesthetic is such a part of this game. Pikmin is also great, so all the better.

There's A Pony For That
Monday the 11th: Here's a bit of fan art I just coughed up using General Zoi's Pony Creator (Beta) and MS Paint. I call him David Brony!
I could see his appearance making for a good Rarity episode.

4/10 - Nice but sounds too depressing
Kaiser Chiefs - Ruby
8/10
Good riff. Singer isn't annoying (a huge plus as I am one). The chorus is catchy. Good pop tune overall, and as I always say there's nothing quite like a well-made pop tune. Note that I'm not using the word pop in the Lady Gaga/Rihana/etc. sense.
On the less depressing side of things, here's a little modern chamber pop courtesy of High Llamas. It's from their latest, Talahomi Way. That's a big deal, because they only put stuff out every 4 years or so.
High Llamas - Woven and Rolled

When you do share a song, make a link with "band/artist name - song name" as the link text. YouTube or anything with instant access is preferable.
Example of a rating: 2/10 - That was terrible. The guitarist was obviously drunk, it was all over the place for no good reason. You call that a hook? It's a waste of sound!
Of course they won't all be this harsh. On that note, don't flame. You may not like the music that was posted, but don't be rude about it.
I'll start with a silly song about movies and not belonging. Oh, and there's a little Freebird in there.
John Grant & Midlake - Sigourney Weaver
#8543 Let's talk Zelda Wii U

The entire on-screen environment is pure black. With the exclusion of one object meant to capture the player's eye, everything in the realm is only the concept of itself. In the painting I saw that inspired this, the only solid object was a red sun. Shadow Links are white outlines of themselves (their features are drawn with white lines), a Triforce is pure triangles of light with no physical definition.
As for the solid object, it could be a pivotal character Link is supposed to meet, maybe it's the exterior of a dungeon, or maybe it's an associated object in his subconscious. It's a bit purgatorial, void-ish or whatever you call it. We've had a bit of it in TP, but not to this extent.

Why don't we just start a Calvinball thread?

MaskWidget avatar is not wearing a mask. By the rules of calvinball, he forfits his next twentity forte wins to the person who called him on it.
I'm not wearing a mask, admittingly, but I wasn't playing the game when i called him, so the points go to me.
Furthermore, I'm in the "Zone of omnipotance", which gives me invulnerability to the next three rules and twist them to my own means.
...Or I could just win and make everything way simpler.
Winning! Duh.

SIMPLE IS NOT AN OPTION IN CALVINBALL!
You are banished to the zone of silence. You are not allowed to post in this thread without a chicken and a Japaneses anime haircut. I lose 2 points if you acomplish this.
Have fun with that.

Based on the description of the network we've been given so far, I suspect the "friend code" will operate in a similar manner, only applying to account matters rather than account-interaction (which begs the question why call it a friend code at that point?). When I attended a StreetPass OC meet recently the Nintendo rep in attendance said you could have your info in up to 5 systems, so I suspect the number would also be used in system transfers to verify the account owner authorized it.
