#102171 No online multiplayer for anything

Posted by ianh05 on 25 August 2012 - 07:28 PM in Wii U Games and Software

Let them be negative if they want to be that way. Online doesn't need to be added to all games, single player RPG's such as final fantasy don't need it and some gamers hate online games, even some gamers who like it need to get away from it sometimes.

If games become online only they will all lose their stories and become frag-fests like we get with COD etc. where players only buy the game to play online.

Urban Champion. Go around the plaza trying to find ways to kill things because it sucks so much. Multiplayer attraction.

what sucks?

#138311 NintendoLand DLC

What future attractions do you want to see in Nintendoland? keep in mind they are most likely only going to be based on Nintendo games. Here's a couple to get the list started:

1. Duck Hunt - The classic NES light gun shooting game.
*Solo attraction.
*Use the gamepad as a scope and shoot clay ducks.
*Stamps could include - Quick shot (speed clearing a level) and sharpshooter (100% accuracy on a level).
*Should feature the laughing dog.

2. Excitebike - Classic NES racing game.
*Competitive attraction.
*Players 2-5 control the racers with the Wiimotes.
*Player 1 creates the track using the gamepad.
*Players 2-5 have 1 life and lose it upon crashing.
*Player 1 wins if no one finishes the race.

I'll try and keep this post updated with everyone's ideas.

for a pokemon attraction I was thinking of a hot-seat style pokemon trading card where you don't see the other players cards by passing them the gamepad when it's their turn.

#230077 Nintendo to announce secret “brand-new types of games” for Wii U soon

Posted by ianh05 on 08 July 2013 - 10:55 PM in Wii U Games and Software

they won't just be new games, they are new TYPES of games and with them not wanting the competition to copy them I bet it has something to do with either the gamepad or a brand new peripheral.Multiplayer meetings in single player type games hasn't been done. Think about what they showed for Destiny at E3, with drop in co-op online (at least that's what I got from it) now imagine something similar but offline where players can start playing different characters at the same time in the same or completely different area's.

We have been limited to one screen for ages and the Wii U gamepad is the first console/handheld something like this has been possible for. Would bring something different to couch multiplayer.

"brand-new types of games"

This makes me think back to some earlier Idea's I had in mind with 2 in 1 games where 1 person could play one "game" and another could play the 2nd with both games being on the same disc/drive. In the same vein you could get a new type of multiplayer where the players are in different area's controlling different characters, heck one person could be leveling as a boss while the other levels the protagonist. Imagine 4 player solo/co-op games where you all start in different area's and eventually meet up kinda like how you have NPC's join your party now only these are player controlled characters.

A Pokemon MMO isn't really a new type of game, it's still an MMO. As much as we all want it, it would be too damaging to their handheld sales.

#135175 Nintendo Land Unlockables

Posted by ianh05 on 20 November 2012 - 11:25 PM in Wii U Games and Software

Metroid blast has 5-10 bonus missions from mastering all solo levels IIRC. DKCC has more stages then you think, when you beat the blue stage you go through the door back to red and it's a lot harder with parts missing etc. :)

but some people might play the game once and think that's all there is, I think this info needs to be out there as much as possible.

#140196 Nintendo Land Records

Posted by ianh05 on 29 November 2012 - 04:13 AM in Competitions & Matchmaking

I could post warchamp7's records to get this started...will have to skim through his videos. His record for DK's crash course is 15030 as seen at the start of the video and the end of this video under "personal best":

EDIT:

16126 for this guy O.o

#141194 Nintendo Land Official Strategy Guide

Posted by ianh05 on 30 November 2012 - 06:35 PM in Wii U Games and Software

No, it's just so pointless for a compilation of mini-games to have a Strategy Guide.

I wouldn't say that, some of the mini-games are pretty tough and maps etc. would help some people out. DK's crash course and Captain Falcons Twister Race come to mind :P

#130612 Nintendo has some aces up it's sleeve's for Wii U at E3 2013?

Posted by ianh05 on 16 November 2012 - 05:13 AM in Wii U Games and Software

I'm not sure if this has been discussed yet, but do you all think Nintendo is going to have an amazing E3 next year? The new PS3/360 could both be announced at E3 and that puts Nintendo in a bit of a pickle unless....they have some amazing games to show off.

What games could save Nintendo at next years E3? for me there are a couple of major ones that would automatically win against anything sony and microsoft bring out and they are Pokemon and Zelda.

Here's my idea for the pokemon game that could shine on Wii U and really deal a blow to the other systems:

Pokemon Worlds - Imagine all the pokemon so far in the same game, every region and every gym leader. Start out in Kanto and work your way to the other regions. The main feature the gamepad would be used for is the pokedex, the gamepad can display the pokedex while you play and you can scan on screen pokemon with it and have the gamepads speakers tell you about the pokemon etc.

#150768 New Idea! Wii U Dual Games - 2 games at once!

Posted by ianh05 on 22 December 2012 - 10:14 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Just the worst idea ever.

Really? I think it would be great for families and maybe even friends who don't want to play the same game. This way the console could be shared by 2 people.

#149210 New Idea! Wii U Dual Games - 2 games at once!

Just NO.

Why not? :)

#148748 New Idea! Wii U Dual Games - 2 games at once!

Posted by ianh05 on 16 December 2012 - 09:21 PM in Wii U Games and Software

I had this idea a week or so ago but never got around to typing it up so here it is. Wii U is currently the only console with 2 screens and a lot of games will make use of it for that games benefit but why stick to only using that second screen for additional gameplay on a single game? Dual gaming on a single console is now possible! Currently if you have a brother, sister, friend or someone else over who wants to play a different game they can't until you finish.

Dual Gaming:

*Play 2 different games at once using each screen to play a different game.
*Could (maybe) be possible with games on your hard drive.
*Player one could use pro controller with the TV while player two uses the gamepad and it's screen.

Thoughts/Suggestions?

#148759 New Idea! Wii U Dual Games - 2 games at once!

Posted by ianh05 on 16 December 2012 - 10:52 PM in Wii U Games and Software

I was thinking if it can handle giving 2 players 2 different views in local co-op maybe if you split a game down the middle 1 person could play one half while the other person played the other half.

#148784 New Idea! Wii U Dual Games - 2 games at once!

I'm no tech wiz, it was just an idea I hope to see put into use... even if it's just for VC/downloaded games :)

#135973 Need help with getting "Star Player" on Nintendo Land

I'm not sure but it might have something to do with how fast you win or something like that.

#97045 My AMAZING uses for the NFC Sensor!

Posted by ianh05 on 01 August 2012 - 12:33 PM in Wii U Games and Software

why stick to basic figures when you can make them customisable?

example of this:

http://www.ncsx.com/www/zxed/zxed.htm

I'm all for collectable games as long as one figure/card isn't superior to any others.

#97146 My AMAZING uses for the NFC Sensor!

Posted by ianh05 on 02 August 2012 - 12:20 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Just imagine this, Super Smash Bros 4! Now with evn more characters but the only ones in the game are Mario, Link, Kirby, and Pikachu! So now you have to go out and buy more characters, Yeah! (my wallet is crying right now).

Skylanders works just because it's a full single player game so having 3 characters at the start doesn't hurt, fighting games on the other hand would have a difficult time trying to get additional NFC characters to work.

#130598 Mass Effect 3 WiiU port have technical issues

Australian companies sure do suck at porting games.
