Spoiler Alert for collecting all 3 star coins for each level.......

So it's not a major spolier, but just in case someone really cares.  So I beat every level and collected every star coin for all levels including the star road coins (Pendulum Castle made me want to throw the game pad).  I was dissapointed to see that all you got for collecting all the coins was unlimited access to the Toad houses.  Not sure what I was really expecting, but once you have all the coins you have completed every level anyways.

I really did enjoy the game though and can't wait for a Mario Galaxy for the Wii U.

#155326 Install of discs

Posted by tbond22 on 02 January 2013 - 01:58 PM in Wii U Games and Software Help

I'm done with discs. This will be my disc-free system (excluding Nintendo Land... grrrr...). I'm just waiting for the e-shop to actually cost less than bricks and mortar shops (currently everything on the e-shop costs more than buying from a shop for some bizzare reason).

Not sure they will ever be cheaper in the e-shop. There are always stores out there that have sales and the retail price is what the e-shop and all other virtual stores (Sony, MS) sell games at most of the time. I am with the other poster above I would rather have the disc version cause then you can use on other peoples systems and can sell the game if you want.

#155261 Wii U - A massive disappointment?

Posted by tbond22 on 02 January 2013 - 11:55 AM in Wii U Games and Software

I got a Wii U for Christmas and I am loving it so far.  I know there will be plenty of good games coming out.  I love the HD graphics and am having a blast with NSMBWU.

#155204 pro controller setup

Posted by tbond22 on 02 January 2013 - 09:14 AM in Wii U Hardware Help

When you turn the system on the game pad will turn on automatically. Then hit the home button for the pro controller and it should default to the #2 spot assuming it has been synced up. I played NBA 2K13 with a friend and I was player 1 with the game pad and he was player 2 with the pro controller.

#154788 I enjoy the games of the Wii U the most out of all 3 consoles

7.8 for Uncharted and Uncharted 3? I can't agree with that. The Uncharted series is one of the best for PS3. The gameplay and graphics alone are amazing.

The Wii had a classic pro though. It was compatible with many games.

It never works for any of the sports games that I played. Most of the games you had to use the Wiimote and do a shooting motion or swinging motion. Again that is fun to play with friends and family, but sometimes yolu just want to push buttons.

Anyways I don't want to go too far off the NBA 2K13 topic, but I did pick it up today at Best Buy (on sale for $49.99) can't wait to play it. I have the game pad and I will make my brother-in-law use the pro controller. :)

You can only use the pro controller and the gamepad.

What ever you say doe.

Sweet, thank you.

The Wii had a few draw backs to me: 1) Graphics and 2) the fact that you had to use the Wiimote for just about every game. It was an innovative way to play games, but sometimes you just want to relax and play a game where you push buttons if you know what I mean. I guess 3) would be that the Wii lacked true hardcore games too. With Batman, COD, AC III and others it looks like all 3 of these issues could be answered.

Can you play with traditional controls? Or do you have to use the Wiimotes. I assume you use the game pad, but could a 2nd player use the traditional controller?
