#238495 Wonderful 101 is the reason to own a Wii U

Posted by wombateer on 11 August 2013 - 08:30 AM in Wii U Games and Software

There's going to be a thread like this every time a Wii U exclusive is released.

More than likely. :)

#238486 Wonderful 101 is the reason to own a Wii U

Posted by wombateer on 11 August 2013 - 08:17 AM in Wii U Games and Software

I genuinely tried the demo yesterday evening and... it's not my cup of tea. There is a lot on the screen going on at once and I get myself lost in that. Also, there might be videos tutorial and stuff but I feel that the game should make an interactive training session, especially in the drawing segment of the game with "punching bag enmmies" (ennemies that doesn't budge or if they do, they don't attack) and then gradually introduce action. What I played is a game that drops you directly into action with very little to help you out: Use "something" (/reference) to attack! Then, the action grows more intense and then it says "you can draw figures!" when you are already overloaded with checking the gamepad and then the mainscreen trying to figure out what to do. Argh. Again, I like action games but not this kind and that's probably what make me suck very hard.

The graphics however are pretty darn good. The greatest surprise I had was: Japanese audio with English subs! Wiis dubs, all hail original audio and language! (says somebody that loves anime and used to watch them a lot)

On that, take my opinion with a grain of salt because I'm not in this kind of game. Maybe Pikmin may be more suited for me than W101.

I said this. (http://thewiiu.com/t...e-2#entry238061

It's not my cup of tea either. But I'm sure many do find it appealing, and although an appealing game to many. I don't think this game is a reason to own a Wii U, but it gives it that bit more credibility.

Tried it, and it's not my cup of tea. It's Splinter Cell for me, and possibly Sonic for now.

#238009 Slow Internet and Freezing Netflix

I just reset/turn off my router if things run slow, this usually results in things getting sorted.

#238002 Who buys a Nintendo console for third party multiplats, anyways?

Posted by wombateer on 09 August 2013 - 03:31 AM in Wii U Hardware

Nintendo needs those mainstream 3rd party games, that's all.

Good versions of NBA, COD, GTA, MADDEN, FIFA, and BATTLEFIELD might help

If COD does well this year on Wii U, it might give Activision incentive to bring Destiny to Wii U, and I would love to see BF4 on Wii U and see what the GamePad brings in commander mode.

#238001 Cubeman 2: First cross-platform multiplayer game on Wii U.

Posted by wombateer on 09 August 2013 - 03:29 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Ported to the Wii U by NNOOO, an Australian dev. :D

Or it might have been published by them, not sure...

NNOOO is the publisher, Three Sprockets is the developer.

Cubemen 2 is a fast paced, action packed, original 3D Strategy game where you use your little Cubemen units to defend and attack enemies in a range of awesome game modes including CTF, Skirmish, Territory and more.

For the multi-player enthusiasts, you can compete in up to 6 player online Solo or Team battles against other humans or AI, for the top spot on the global rankings.

Cross-platform will include PC, (Windows or Linux via Steam) iOS, Android, Mac and the Wii U.

#237784 Who buys a Nintendo console for third party multiplats, anyways?

Posted by wombateer on 08 August 2013 - 07:49 AM in Wii U Hardware

I just thought I should ask this.

I'm looking at the whining that the Wii U won't be getting games like Call of duty and such and I realized: I personally don't care.

My Wii collection is:

Spoiler

Blue are exclusive third parties, red are multiplatform. The only multiplatform I like is Sonic Unleashed.

I'd be perfectly happy with just Nintendo games. I did have an Xbox, but I found I didn't really care for any of the games available.

What about you?

But the Wii U is getting Call of Duty.

#237556 Possibility: Metroid at Direct

They could just give us a proper date for the next Wii U update, and what is coming with it?

#237335 Having game pad not turning on automatically?

Or let the battery go flat.

#237334 Did Shin'en help design the Wii U hardware?

Posted by wombateer on 06 August 2013 - 03:55 AM in Wii U Hardware

No, in one word. It might just be that with Shin'en Multimedia being a small development studio communication is much more refined and quicker to get to the channels it needs to get to.

I can see big studios like EA, Ubisoft and others having a chain of command, and along the way information that needs to be passed on gets thinned, or misplaced.

#237333 What can Nintendo do to fix their relations with third-party developers?

Posted by wombateer on 06 August 2013 - 03:49 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Hopefully games like Splinter Cell, Watch Dogs, COD Ghosts and Skylanders sell enough copies for other 3rd party developers to see (it's worth investing some time and money into the WII U.)

The 3rd party games coming up are the make or break time for Wii U 3rd party support. It's just a pity, the games coming up are lacking some features, but you never know, patch or two may follow.

If the moneys there, they will come back that simple, if not, they will make up any kind of excuse. That's how I see it anyway.

#236964 Wii U version of Splinter Cell Blacklist will lack offline co-operative play

Posted by wombateer on 04 August 2013 - 05:37 AM in Wii U Games and Software

I can see a patch sometime after launch. At's least it's online.

#236805 IGN: Nintendo should look to new hardware, If Wii U doesn't pick up

Posted by wombateer on 03 August 2013 - 02:44 AM in Wii U Games and Software

I think Keza Macdonald wants the new Wii U2. Which in turn will be marketed by Bono and gang.

#236803 BBC Uk - Nintendo flogging a dead horse

Posted by wombateer on 03 August 2013 - 02:38 AM in Wii U Hardware

Can't do the link due to phone, it seems the BBC have spoken to IGN and that was the outcome. However seeing as the UK is a.dead area for the WIIU could this news artical help spread the word?

Wii it be a straight Xbox 360 port, or will Treyarch ramp up the game to see what they can get out of the Wii U?

#235743 ASDA suspends Wii U stock

Posted by wombateer on 29 July 2013 - 06:31 AM in Wii U Games and Software

The ASDA near me, has never stocked Wii U games or hardware, it's just Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 content, and my local TESCO is the same.

Now watch the "fail" comments litter forums and blogs around the world. :(
