#14839 Zelda, the Wii U and online functionality

Posted by BazzDropperz on 15 July 2011 - 05:00 PM in Wii U Games and Software

Maybe two player online for campaign? Or your Link, then you have to fight the other Link, which is the other person across the world. If you win, then you get to be Zelda's girlfriend. Just a thought though, I doubt it will happen.

You do know Link is the guy and Zelda is the girl, right? lol.

I'm sorry, I know IP .Board's search engine sucks but there have already been way to many repeat threads like this.

#41099 Zelda 3DS Graphics

Posted by BazzDropperz on 07 November 2011 - 12:04 AM in General Gaming

I dunno, when it's so small the adventure looks a lot less epic ya' know. I guess it's really just preference, I like my adventures on a big screen, especially on one that doesn't give me a headache. So looking better to me on a big screen doesn't necessarily mean the games graphical fidelity is worse, it just looks less interesting when it's on such a small system. Another thing I should mention is sound quality, as for Zelda the music plays a big roll for the series. So music will definitely sound better on a Television rather then those small speakers. Then again that's just my preference. And why I think Skyward sword or any home console game generally looks better then the Handheld counterparts.

It's kind of like the theaters, Movies are just so much more thrilling when you see them on the silver screen with a nice sound system.

Lol. To me handheld games seem "bigger" because you're closer to the game, noone else here seems to have that preference though :3

Edit: Also I think anything on a big screen TV looks better then on the 3DS so I doubt it will look better then Skyward sword.

Wouldn't the same amount of detail look better on a smaller screen?

Well nobody I know is really a Nintendo fan, and considering Nintendo have Mario, Zelda, Metroid and others I don't think it's one of their larger IPs. It definitely is a successful series though and lots of people have played it, but it still isn't that well known yet.

I'm not sure if this is too popular, but I love this series and nobody I've asked knows it. Animal crossing - I love all the games in that series :P

#20726 Xbox Portable?

Posted by BazzDropperz on 11 August 2011 - 11:29 PM in General Gaming

YES i KNoW JUST A EXAMPLE..

And they aren't made by Microsoft. Which means you have no reason to think they'll announce that they're making a handheld at the GDC, or ever.

So this is one of those "baseless speculation" threads, right? Just asking.

#20722 Xbox Portable?

Posted by BazzDropperz on 11 August 2011 - 11:10 PM in General Gaming

I think microsoft is going to announce a portable at GDC or E3. What are your opinions? Thats why I'm not getting a Vita =(  till I hear something from microsoft.

You actually believe this? I can guarantee those are just mockups. Trust me, if Microsoft did make a handheld it wouldn't look like a toy. Not getting another handheld because of something like this is just silly, I mean how could it end up being better than the Vita even if Microsoft did make it?

#21579 Would you play on a Wii U Forums Minecraft server?

Posted by BazzDropperz on 14 August 2011 - 03:38 PM in General Gaming

What is enderman?

A new Minecraft mob. Google is your friend.

Is minecraft really an awesome game? I still am thinking about getting it when I'm out of games next year. (March-ish... I think?)

It's an extremely fun, addictive and creative game. It's more fun than most fully priced retail games, and it only costs a fraction of the price.

Nice to hear that there is one person at least who is willing to financially support a server upgrade. Azuras should be able to take a small number of people as it is right now (probably no more than 5 at a time), and I wouldn't mind providing free access as long as Minecraft will run within the tight limits I've set for it. But if a server upgrade is necessary, we might be able to work something out so we have a core group of donors who cover some of the costs, and let other people play for free. MIGHT.

Aether looks very, very awesome by the way. Thanks for letting me know about it. If we get a Wii U Forums server going, I'll install that for sure. I think Survival mode would be fun as a group, too, especially since we'd be able to delegate certain tasks to each other.

See my reply to Lord N. I may be able to provide free access if demand is low, or we may be able to work something out so that everyone can play for free but donors get special benefits or something.

Why do you say that? I'm sure duffcraft.net is great, but if we're going to have a Wii U Forums server, doesn't it make sense to have all of its hosting completely controlled by us? Don't get me wrong, but I don't want to rely on a third party for something that is our "official" anything. I'm looking into getting our very own Wii U Forums Minecraft server started, not sending all of Wii U Forums to represent this forum on another site. The server environment's all ready to go, actually, complete with an automated backup script that runs every 15 minutes. I've also set Azuras up with CraftBukkit, which I understand makes modding much easier.

I'm not trying to be defensive, by the way; just making a point. I do want to know why you think it would be better for us to use duffcraft.net.

Well nobody here would have to pay to go on it, and the server can certainly handle more than 5 people.

I think it would be better to have an existing server as our "official" server.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but what exactly do you do? I know you can build stuff, but is there anything else besides that?

There isn't a main aim to the game (you can do whatever you want) but there's a lot of stuff to do. You can build things to survive the night or just because you want to, you can mine for a wide variety of blocks, you can craft tools and armor, go hunting mobs (creatures that you get some resources from), go exploring, build a gateway to the Nether (Minecraft's equivilent of hell, it has special hell-mobs) and then go online to do all of those things with other people. The way most people start off is by: punching trees to get wood, using the wood craft a wooden pickaxe, mining to get stone then crafting a much more efficient stone pickaxe - and it continues on with you gradually crafting better items. At night hostile mobs spawn (unlike day mobs, they attack you when they see you) so you should have a house with torches (you make them with coal and a stick) inside to survive the night. There's a lot more to get to know about Minecraft and I suggest you go to Minepedia.com to see if it's the right game for you.
