#72744 Expo's/Conferences we can hear news about the Wii U before E3

Posted by Deadly Virus on 17 April 2012 - 10:12 AM in Wii U Hardware

^Hm, I don't know. I really think they want to save it for E3. IF it will come. No-one said it would, it was just a rumour... If they are not going to call it Wii Something, then I also think they should revamp the looks.

The 26th would be a great time to announce a name change. It'll generate some more hype in the time leading up to E3, maybe even sway the opinions of some PS3/360 owners who are skeptical about buying a console with the Wii name on it. Remember, the Revolution name change to Wii was announced around this time in 2006 too.

#72754 Vigil: Everyone Will Want A Wii U

Posted by Deadly Virus on 17 April 2012 - 10:43 AM in Wii U Hardware

Did I hear "next-gen piece of hardware" in there?! Looks like Vigil Games knows what's up here. Hopefully they'll have more good things to say when the NDA gets lifted. :D

#72766 A new Super Mario Bros game... not New Super Mario Bros.

Posted by Deadly Virus on 17 April 2012 - 11:30 AM in Wii U Games and Software

It's NSMB Mii people. Its easy to port over and up Rez to 1080p. It will show off features of the controller and help sell the wii u at launch. It is a sequel to the highest selling Wii game that wasn't a pack in game (25 million I think?). It's a sound business strategy. Dunno why people are in denial, NSMBW was awesome.

Because it's a Wii game... If they're going to make NSMBMii, it shouldn't just literally be NSMBWii with Miis and new levels. It needs to be entirely rebuilt for the Wii U. Just having Wii-quality games in 1080p isn't good enough IMO.

#72912 Pachter: Concerned about Third-Party Support for Wii U

Posted by Deadly Virus on 18 April 2012 - 05:30 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Oh my god, the way he switched so quickly from saying "Nintendo is doomed! The Wii U will flop!" to "They'll be alright!" is hilarious.. This guy is an absolute joke.

Get ready for next year: "The Wii U is a fad! It doesn't matter if they have all the 3rd parties, the games won't seeellllll!"

#72927 Paul Gale Network: Good Times Are Coming!

Posted by Deadly Virus on 18 April 2012 - 07:32 AM in Wii U Games and Software

My mind instantly jumps to SSB4 whenever I see "Wii U/3DS cross platform", but it has to be something bigger than that since SSB4 has already been confirmed. Whatever it is, I hope we hear soon.

#73015 Wii u gameplay capture

Posted by Deadly Virus on 18 April 2012 - 02:43 PM in General Gaming

Well, I guess there'd be no need to capture the controller for most third party games. Nintendo's probably gonna do some fancy stuff with it in their games though, so I worry about how a Let's Play of Mario Wii U would work...

Also, the Wii U channel sounds like an awesome idea. I'll sub if you end up making it. ^_^

#73159 Nintendo's Online Service

Posted by Deadly Virus on 19 April 2012 - 09:56 AM in Wii U Hardware

Above all, a proper username/friendlist system that spans across both Wii U and 3DS. Being able to easily chat with and join games with your friends is the number one benefit of online services IMO, and a big reason for why the Wii's online felt so... disconnected.

The next most important would be achievements, since I'm 100% sure that downloads, demos and DLC will all be available from day one or at least VERY soon after.

#73368 Reggie on 3rd Parties, Gaming Market, and Copying Nintendo.

Posted by Deadly Virus on 20 April 2012 - 12:08 PM in Wii U Hardware

Seems like he's still confident that Wii U will be capable of 1080p. The fact that the specifically mentioned Call of Duty and Battlefield... could this mean that he knows games from those series are already in development for Wii U, AND running in 1080p? Maybe.. :o

#74050 Nintendo Fiscal Year Earnings Release-April 26th

Posted by Deadly Virus on 23 April 2012 - 11:17 AM in Wii U Hardware

If they're going to do a name change, then they'll do it at this conference. I also expect the NDAs to be loosened so that devs can announce a few more Wii U multiplats and drop a few more hints and rumours, just enough to keep people hyped until E3.

#74053 Mdden 13 Wii U

Posted by Deadly Virus on 23 April 2012 - 11:23 AM in Wii U Games and Software

There's absolutely no way that EA won't bring all of their big sports games to Wii U this year. I mean really, all they need to do is port the 360 version and add a few tablet gimmicks and Nintendo Network functionality, and bam, a whole truckload more cash will just land in EA's pockets. :P

But with all the news about EA and Nintendo becoming best buds all of a sudden, I wouldn't be surprised if every EA title over the next year gets a Wii U version. Nintendo needs western games and it's obvious that EA is one of their first choices here.

#74107 RUMOR: [Some of you are probably really happy] - Wii U renamed Nintendo U

Posted by Deadly Virus on 23 April 2012 - 12:58 PM in Wii U Hardware

Hell yeah! It reminds me of the Nintendo 64. Short and sweet, nice and simple. And it places emphasis on the "Nintendo" part.

If this turns out to be true, I will be a very very happy man. ;)

EDIT: That video does look rather fake though. I'd still like to hope that maybe he's got some insider info anyway though..

#74153 Wii 2 Blog - When did you join this site?

Posted by Deadly Virus on 23 April 2012 - 02:30 PM in The Café

I came in late 2011, so I didn't get to see any of the pre Wii U stuff. It's been great speculating with you guys though, and I really hope this community's still around in 2 or 3 years time. If communities get integrated into Nintendo Network we need to set something up for this site. :D

#74162 Real-Time Strategy

Posted by Deadly Virus on 23 April 2012 - 02:37 PM in Wii U Games and Software

If Dawn of War 3 ever comes out, I'd love to see it on Wii U. Starcraft 2 would be cool too but I personally have no interest in the game.

On the first party side, a more traditional RTS reboot of Odama could be interesting.

#74336 Call of Duty

Posted by Deadly Virus on 23 April 2012 - 11:57 PM in Wii U Games and Software

If the Call of Duty games won't support the Wii Mote, I will really pissed. It's like going a step backwards for me, the Wii mote controls are way more precise for me and it doesn't look like I would have a broken neck. (I mean seriously, you always point at the middle of the screen! No freedom at all!)

I agree here. Never played CoD on the Wii, but to have the opportunity to play a full HD CoD game with Wiimote controls on the Wii U? That would just be too awesome. I get the feeling they might leave it out though, but I seriously hope not.

#74337 What do you want Nintendo to announce at their Investor's Meeting about W...

Posted by Deadly Virus on 24 April 2012 - 12:03 AM in Wii U Hardware

Does anyone know exactly when this is taking place? Since it's an investor meeting I'm assuming it won't be streamed, but I'd like to know when we'll start getting the info from it.

#74370 Call of Duty

Posted by Deadly Virus on 24 April 2012 - 03:49 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Of course CoD will be on Wiiu, but definitely not Black Op's 2. With the rapid developement of CoD, there's no way Treyarch would have time to port it onto the system. You'll more than likely have to wait until MW4. Doesn't matter much anyways as there are multiple other FPS'/violent shooters announced for the system (Ghost Recon, Killer Freaks, Metro: Last Light, etc)

I'd imagine it's been in development for the past two years. I always assumed that Treyarch began work on BO2 or whatever it is immediately after finishing Black Ops, that's how they keep up the one game a year cycle. They'd have had plenty of time to port it to Wii U, and seeing as Treyarch is much more friendly to Nintendo consoles than IW, I'd say it's very likely.

Also, don't count on there being an MW4. I'm expecting Future Warfare more than anything.

#74424 Nintendo Power Teases Exciting Announcement

Posted by Deadly Virus on 24 April 2012 - 09:39 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Hm, yeah, Black Ops 2 and Metro Last Light seem quite likely... I don't think Metro counts as an "exciting announcement" when we've already known it's on Wii U since E3 though. And the Black Ops 2 reveal trailer along with plenty of info would have already been out for some time by the time the next Nintendo Power hits shelves.

This might just be wishful thinking here, but what if it's Retro's game? I don't know really, but if it's as mature/hardcore as that one quote said then Russia would be a very good setting or plot point. We'll wait and see though, this might just end up being a huge dissapointment like NGamer's article on Assassin's Creed 3...

#74494 Call of Duty

Posted by Deadly Virus on 24 April 2012 - 02:11 PM in Wii U Games and Software

If they were indeed working on a U version, why wouldn't they have said something, or why wouldn't we have at least heard some leaked info by this point?

NDAs of course ;)

Notice how we've heard next to nothing about ANY more Wii U multiplats since last year. We know they're coming, but Nintendo's keeping them tightly under wraps, probably so they can surprise everyone in one go at E3.

But, I wouldn't entirely dismiss the chance of the Wii U version of Black Ops 2 being announced in the trailer next week. Just wait and see, man.

#74699 Tomorrow is the day, when to expect new info?

Posted by Deadly Virus on 25 April 2012 - 07:39 AM in Wii U Hardware

i just pray that if the name changes, it doesnt get worse

Nintendo's usually good with names. Even Wii and Wii U have a certain charm to them. :P

#74709 Tomorrow is the day, when to expect new info?

Posted by Deadly Virus on 25 April 2012 - 08:05 AM in Wii U Hardware

They sold too many Wii units for all of the sudden change the name. Did you guys see Sony changing the Playstation name... No. It's already in the fabric of pop culture, it would be stupid to change the name now. We'll just have to get used to it, just as we did with the Wii.

If they went by that logic then they would have made the Ultra NES instead of the Nintendo 64..

#75323 UPDATED Rayman Legends WiiU LEAKED TRAILER

Posted by Deadly Virus on 27 April 2012 - 09:06 AM in Wii U Games and Software

This looks awesome! I never had the pleasure of buying and playing Rayman; origins, but I played the demo of said game and it was fun! I like the implemention of NFC in the video. Lastly, I think this game might, just might, b a Wii U exclusive...

Considering the video said "Wii U exclusive features", I assume that it means that it'll be a multiplat, but have some cool tablet and NFC stuff for Wii U only.

But regardless, definitely buying this when it's out. Hope it'll be a launch title.

#75374 Sony All Star Fighting game, Rip off of SSM?

Posted by Deadly Virus on 27 April 2012 - 12:09 PM in General Gaming

Looks great to me, definitely getting it. I just wonder if Sony really has enough decent first party characters these days to fill up the roster.. Sure they can bring in third parties, but then it's kind of saying something if they don't even have enough IPs of their own to use for it.

And I don't particularly see why it being similar to Smash Bros is a bad thing. Now, if they started denying the fact that it was obviously inspired by SSB, THEN It'd be an issue. But the fact is, they're just doing what literally everyone else in the industry has done at some point and taking concepts from other developers to form their own game. To be honest I'm surprised it took THIS long for a Sony crossover fighter to show up, but better late than never I guess.

#75428 The Other Videos of PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale

Posted by Deadly Virus on 27 April 2012 - 04:15 PM in General Gaming

C'mon guys, it's ripping off SMASH BROS here. That alone will make it an absolutely brilliant game.

Besides, it gives us something to play while we wait for SSB4, assuming most of us have PS3s. ^_^

#75447 Black Ops II Confirmed

Posted by Deadly Virus on 28 April 2012 - 03:17 AM in General Gaming

I was hoping that the rumours about it being called Call of Duty Eclipse were true, but oh well. Black Ops 1 was amazing so I have absolutely no doubts that BO2 will be the same.

There is speculation that Black Ops II will take place in the near-future based on this video of a demonstration of a quadrotor drone, which was linked from the main site.

FPS Russia claims that this technology won't be around for the next ten years.

This could be really awesome if it's actually true. Cold War setting is cool and all, but I think Treyarch has shown that they're not the type to stick with one time or setting when they make a new game. If Black Ops 2 is near future, then hopefully next year we'll get Future Warfare set even further beyond that. Maybe an opportunity to tie the storylines of all the CoD games together? :o

#75517 Rumor: Wii U To Feature Revolutionary NFC "Gamer Card".

Posted by Deadly Virus on 28 April 2012 - 10:36 AM in Wii U Hardware

Wow, this is an awesome idea. A lot better than what people said about using the 3DS for Wii U streetpasses. I hope they package it in with the console, they should be able to considering they can't be too expensive to make.
