#85328 ZombiU might not be exclusive to the wii U

Posted by Deadly Virus on 07 June 2012 - 11:47 AM in Wii U Games and Software

I don't see how a game called ZombiU will work on PS3 or 360... Unless they intend to rename it. Either way, I'll be dissapointed if it isn't exclusive. -_-

I'm a big fan of Let's Plays personally.

NintendoCapriSun, PCGamer999 and Chip & Ironicus being my favourites. ^_^

#88053 Xbox 720 documents leaked, console is probably $299

Posted by Deadly Virus on 16 June 2012 - 07:34 AM in General Gaming

Not surprised that this is the direction Microsoft is taking. It's highly doubtful I'll buy a 720, unless Halo 5 ends up being made for it, even then they still have to convince me it'll be a good game. :P

I just hope the low price points of Xbox 720 and Wii U don't end up cannibalizing PS4's sales. The last thing I want is for Sony to have to pull out of the console industry... :(

#88081 Xbox 720 documents leaked, console is probably $299

Posted by Deadly Virus on 16 June 2012 - 09:59 AM in General Gaming

If it's $300 and what this tells is true, than the Xbox 720 won't be that much more powerful than the Wii U.

We can't say that for sure though. Microsoft has enough cash in their pockets to sell top of the line PC-level hardware at $300 if they so pleased. And it'd be a smart business move, considering a large part of what the Wii U will have going for it in the casual audience's eyes is the fact that it'll probably be sold at a low price point.

#90522 Would you be disappointed if Nintendo Land and NSMB U don't have online p...

Posted by Deadly Virus on 28 June 2012 - 10:37 AM in Wii U Games and Software

They should both have it really. There's little excuse for a game that has local multiplayer to not also have online. Sure some games are more geared towards local MP, but that doesn't mean the option shouldn't be there at all for online.

NSMBU in particular could really benefit from online play. As long as it has voice chat it'll be fine.

#86018 Worst Conference

Posted by Deadly Virus on 09 June 2012 - 06:50 AM in Wii U Hardware

Not the worst by any means. That title still goes to 2008. Most dissapointing though? Definitely, considering how much EVERYONE including Nintendo to some degree was hyping it up.

I just hope this means we get an absolutely kick-ass conference next year. We all know games like Zelda, 3D Mario, Starfox, SSB4, possibly even F-Zero are in development. Nintendo's just not showing it yet. I don't want to come across as a desperate fanboy here, but maybe Nintendo has a greater plan here that we're not seeing? With either PS4, Xbox 720 or maybe even both being unveiled at E3 2013, Wii U is going to need a REALLY strong line-up just to even compete with them. Maybe Nintendo's plan is to hold back their hard hitting games until next year, so that they can generate enough buzz to keep the Wii U relevant amongst the showing of other next-gen consoles.

#85007 Won't hear from Retro for awhile - per IGN article

Posted by Deadly Virus on 06 June 2012 - 12:34 PM in Wii U Games and Software

Great interview IMO, it does seem that Reggie knows what he's doing here. He seemed to hint that a few third party titles have yet to be revealed when questioned about GTA V and RE6, so hopefully that's a sign of what might be yet to be revealed between now and launch. :D

As for Retro, while I am pretty dissapointed we didn't get anything this E3, it might be for the best. Whatever they have in store for us is clearly going to be big. As the wise Miyamoto once said, "A delayed game is eventually good, a bad game is bad forever". ^_^

#98646 Will the wii u's real rival be the new ouya console?

Posted by Deadly Virus on 09 August 2012 - 01:19 PM in Wii U Hardware

I don't think Ouya is a real competitor at all... It's for much smaller, low budget games which is the reason for it being based off Android tech. I can't see most of the big companies doing much more than porting some older games to it, like Square Enix which recently announced an Ouya FF3 port I think. But I can see a lot of indie devs taking interest, if anything it could draw attention away from XBL Arcade.

#92279 Will nextgen fail without 100% Digital download

Posted by Deadly Virus on 06 July 2012 - 09:05 AM in General Gaming

It sounds like a rather ridiculous idea to be honest. No one wants to sit around for a good few hours or even an entire day just to download the new game they bought. Plus there's the issue of HDD space, the Wii U doesn't have a hard drive for one, and even consoles with them have pathetically small ones compared to PCs. You really wouldn't be able to fit many games on at once.

Generally, 100% digital may work fine on PCs, but with consoles and especially handhelds it's just not the best idea. The reason it works so well for smartphones is because of the incredibly small size and scale of most iOS/Android games. This isn't the case for consoles, where the typical game consists of a hefty amount of gigabytes.

#89284 WiiU region free petition

Posted by Deadly Virus on 21 June 2012 - 05:23 PM in Wii U Hardware

It's a great cause man, but it ain't happening. If Nintendo went out of their way to region lock the 3DS when previously none of their handhelds had ever had it, they're not going to leave it out of the Wii U unfortunately.

I'll sign anyway though, just incase. ;)

#115813 WiiTalkUListen Episode 1 is up now

Posted by Deadly Virus on 08 October 2012 - 04:11 AM in The Café

Just finished listening to it, and I was fantastic for a first podcast.

One suggestion I do have though, and it's just a suggestion, is to add some faint background music. It would add some more ambiance and spice up the podcast a bit.

Oooh, I love this idea. There's plenty of video gamey tracks we can use that'd fit great. :o

#131920 Wii U's RAM is slower than PS3/Xbox 360.

Posted by Deadly Virus on 18 November 2012 - 04:29 AM in Wii U Hardware

Nintendo really cheaped out on this hardware IMO... Seems that the more I hear about it, the more disappointed I get. -_-

#115360 Wii U's code name might not be "Project Cafe" at all

Posted by Deadly Virus on 06 October 2012 - 11:10 AM in Wii U Hardware

It might be the gamepad's codename and not the console itself. I might be wrong, tough.

This could be true. WUP sounds like it'd stand for "Wii U Pad".

#88444 Wii U Wishlist

Posted by Deadly Virus on 18 June 2012 - 12:19 PM in Wii U Games and Software

Might seem random, but I've been playing a lot of Dungeon Defenders on my PC recently, and I'd REALLY love it if it came to Wii U. It's already on PS3, Vita and 360 if I remember correctly, and it'd fit just perfectly on the eShop. The gamepad screen could be used for a constant display of the map and access to all your spells and such, and being able to view your and other players' stats on the go. Hell, I'd rebuy the game if it came to the Wii U, that's how good it'd be! :D

#86618 Wii U Will Feature Friend Codes

Posted by Deadly Virus on 11 June 2012 - 09:00 AM in Wii U Hardware

Very, very disappointing. -_-

#86630 Wii U Will Feature An Achievement System

Posted by Deadly Virus on 11 June 2012 - 09:15 AM in Wii U Hardware

So basically this sounds like all achievements will have to be programmed directly into the game like with Brawl, rather than tied to your account. So basically... nothing's changed? <_<

#87703 Wii U Triggers: Analog or Digital?

Posted by Deadly Virus on 14 June 2012 - 12:22 PM in Wii U Hardware

Well some games like Mario Sunshine and Luigi's mansion needed the analog triggers. If they don't have them, then how will people play them on VC?

That's partly what I'm concerned about too. Something tells me Nintendo will use this as an excuse to not have GCN games on the VC at all.

#87416 Wii U Triggers: Analog or Digital?

Posted by Deadly Virus on 13 June 2012 - 12:33 PM in Wii U Hardware

They're digital. Honestly not a big deal, pressure sensitive triggers are rarely used in games. It's just something else for trolls to complain about.

Would it really have been that hard to just put them in though? I mean, Nintendo was one of the first manufacturers to ever use analog triggers. Everyone forgets about the poor old GameCube these days, even Nintendo. :(

#112254 WII U to be region locked according to famitsu

Posted by Deadly Virus on 24 September 2012 - 04:29 AM in Wii U Hardware

Was anyone honestly expecting anything different? Especially after the 3DS was the very first Nintendo handheld to have a region lock.

It sucks though, yeah. Especially since in Europe we don't always get games that the US does, even if they're fully in English and therefore available for most of us to play. The situation is a lot better than it used to be, but there's still a few that just don't get EU releases or come out a year or so later, and this makes it a lot more difficult. -_-

#97777 Wii U thoughts leading up to launch

Posted by Deadly Virus on 05 August 2012 - 11:52 AM in Wii U Hardware

I just don't think Nintendo's done a good enough job to be honest. They're not ambitious enough regarding hardware/online and they don't seem to have anywhere near as much interest in chasing the more hardcore demographic as I thought. Granted, they probably still have a whole slew of games they've yet to show us, but then that's another thing I'm not too pleased about. I'd much rather see the games they have under wraps now and then wait until 2013/2014 to play them than be kept in the dark and have no idea if my purchase is really going to be worth it in a year or two's time.

Still, I wanna wait and see what this "September conference" is all about. I'd really like to hope that Nintendo is waiting until then to unleash some more exclusives and third party multiplats on us, but we can't be sure. After this year's E3 I don't think I ever want to get myself hyped up for a major gaming event ever again..

#86290 Wii U started with the Revolution?

Posted by Deadly Virus on 10 June 2012 - 03:19 AM in Wii U Hardware

I heard a while back that Nintendo originally intended for the Wii to have a tablet-like touchscreen controller, either as the main controller or as an additional one to the Wiimote. Certainly would have been interesting if that was the case. :o

But then, there was also meant to be THIS thing as an alternate to the motion control system, and I'm still horribly disappointed that it never really came to be..

#98511 Wii U preorders "going well"

Posted by Deadly Virus on 08 August 2012 - 06:28 PM in Wii U Hardware

http://gonintendo.co...story&id=182900

I swear, if this ends up being a repeat of when the Wii launched 6 years ago, I am actually genuinely going to be SHOCKED that Nintendo pulled this off. :P

Guess we better start getting our preorders in before they're all sold out... I had to wait until February to get my Wii after how crazy that launch was.

#99715 Wii u Pokemon style

Posted by Deadly Virus on 14 August 2012 - 01:03 PM in Wii U Games and Software

I'd like a new Colosseum-styled game. I really think Colosseum and XD were the best ideas for Pokemon games on home consoles. It kept it as an RPG, adapted it to a non-portable format, while still retaining elements from the Stadium games. Do all that in HD next-gen graphics and with online co-op and multiplayer battles, and you'd have possibly one of the greatest Pokemon games of all time. :P

#95108 Wii U Online Gameplay and Hardware Problems

Posted by Deadly Virus on 23 July 2012 - 01:19 PM in Wii U Hardware

I agree partially, personally I feel that Nintendo really should have made sure the Wii U was beefed up enough to run current-gen games at a steady 60fps in 1080p, but oh well.

I'm also rather irritated sometimes at their reluctance to include online features in their games. Pikmin 3 and NSMBU in particular could benefit from it.

#73015 Wii u gameplay capture

Posted by Deadly Virus on 18 April 2012 - 02:43 PM in General Gaming

Well, I guess there'd be no need to capture the controller for most third party games. Nintendo's probably gonna do some fancy stuff with it in their games though, so I worry about how a Let's Play of Mario Wii U would work...

Also, the Wii U channel sounds like an awesome idea. I'll sub if you end up making it. ^_^
