#99185 Wii U Steam

Posted by Link707 on 12 August 2012 - 01:53 PM in Wii U Hardware

its probably not
but steam would be able to be on wii u cause steam is a console itself
like putting ps3 in xbox...

Steam is just a distribution service. Check it.
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steam_(software)
It's not a console, because it just allows you to play games on your pc. And has a limited version on ps3

Posted by Link707 on 08 January 2013 - 01:56 PM in Wii U Hardware

crisis has been on dev for over 2 years. no wii u back then. there were just as many 3rd party games at launch as any other console I remember. you really need a life bad

I thought Crisis wasnt coming because of poor business relations between EA and Nintendo

#169452 Over 30 years of videogames collection... for sale

Posted by Link707 on 09 February 2013 - 08:53 PM in General Gaming

He would have a better chance to get rid of some of that stuff if he would sell every gear or console individually. Who would buy everything for 500k?? that´s just metal tbh
I understand that some of that stuff is worth quite a lot but still...

The current bid is 550,000, so someone is willing to pay for it

there will be alot of people trying to sell hacks that bypass this. and only then will this consul be worth getting for me.

But then that would be piracy, which is illegal.

Well they are actively robbing people of their right of the first sale doctrine.

http://en.wikipedia....sale_doctrineby

Ive touched on the evils of this before, how used games, trading, renting, or borrowing actually becomes piracy because you no longer own anything to buy, but merely buy permission.... But it always went over peoples heads with out a clear cut large scale real world example. Well heres a big hairy 800 lb example of everything ive been warning about.

making sure no one actually owns anything they buy, but merely permission to 'use' it. Gamers become second class citizens, worth less than dirt. This is what the hdtwin generation and its blind hapless standardless userbase has let things come too. This is just the next step. The final layer of filth.

Piracy would serve them right. But its too good for them. This, and everything it stands for needs to be killed, quickly, and without hesitation, so their is no mistake whatsoever in the message that this is completely unacceptable.

That would mean piracy would show to much support as they wouldvhave to actually buy a console.

I'm not saying that it would be morally wrong (civil disobedience may offer some justification) but you would probably get sued. I doubt that Microsoft would see anything from a consumers point of view.

It does play used games. You just have to pay a fee that is the same as the retail price. Yeah, mind as well be blocked though. Oh and, you have to be online at least once a day or it goes kapoof.

You can't transfer XBLA purchases either

#216193 Nintendo Patents Voice Commands

Posted by Link707 on 05 June 2013 - 12:55 PM in Wii U Games and Software

OK so I got really really really bored today and decided to look at some patents on the US patent website. I looked some up from several companies and finally decided to look at some of Nintendo's. There were a bunch about computing and software stuff that is unable to be understood. Yet this one caught my eye, take a look at this patent and this specific image, a possible response to some of Kinect's features?
The image (which is large) shows a handheld like device that responds to a persons voice commands. I see no reason why the software couldn't be used on Wii u for similar actions to the Kinect's voice commands, as the gamepad has a built in microphone.
The patent was filed in 2005, So that means that Nite do could just use it on the Wii u for voice commands.
