It does have games silly, they just were!'t shown.
They aren't going to show anything to change people's minds, xbox will forever be known as the dude-bro console to play CoD on with your friends, and the occasional halo for the first month of release, the 360 is an example of a lousy console....Bad launch, no system seller besides halo 3 or 4, Pay for mediocre online when i could have better on Steam or Nintendo Network, an overhyped controller, etc. etc.
The xbox one isn't going anywhere in this market, and people just need to realize this.

Just like Nintendo makes the baby consoles Microsoft makes the dude-bro consoles.
We can't really say anything until it happens. They might have some good exclusives.
Why do you assume the Xbox One will be exactly like the 360? Saying the 360 is bad doesn't really prove the Xbox One will fail. Ex: The Wii U isn't like the Wii.
And why do you make the Xbox 360 sound like the PS Vita?
It was not as bad as your making it sound like.
Nintendo isn't known as a "baby" brand. I'm not saying it will be like the xbox 360, im saying it's not doing anything compellingly different to make anyone purchase it.
Microsoft is lazy, they discontinued the original xbox because they didnt want to handle marketing two consoles

wii u sales are poor and we all know it. No chance of recovery at this point.
Let me revisit this thread once it is confirmed that the xbox one has outsold the wii u.
AHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHAHHAHAHAA

I don't care about dvr and football in my gaming console. It's supposed to play games, but i guess not.
Some of the kids at my school are immediately buying it because of the specs... the goddamn console has noooooo games, and windows 8 in it. It's a watered down pc with a kinect built in... wtf.

the architecture is fine. x86 is easier to emulate so you will be seeing ps4 and xbox emu's soon after launch. So there is no point in buying them.

i'm sick of hearing about the gamecube controller. The Gamepad and Pro controllers are superior in every way. People need to learn new play styles.

That kind of thinking is what stopped the Gamecube from being taken seriously, despite its killer hardware at the time.
It was perceived as "kiddie," "lunch box for elementary school," etc.
Nowadays, not only the hardware design, bu the sofware UI lead perception as well.
Wii U UI looks (and SOUNDS) very childish.
Sure, you don't want to alienate kids. therefore, it wouldn't be wise to go the route of Metro UI for example.
But you also want to present everything in the best light possible for modern crossover appeal.
If this was 2006 even, the UI would be considered modern.
But now, it looks ancient.
The layout is not bad, though eShop and the Wii U Menu could do well with a modified, updated sidebar.
And all the random shapes are more than annoying, breaking visual continuity, like there aren't part of any theme at all, just a random thought.
It seems that the graphic design/UI/UX team is either resistant to or incapable of change in terms of keeping up with the times.
At some point, I imagine the UI will be updated. But it won't be until the OS itself gets the bloat down quite a bit more.
If this UI were on any other console, it would be ridiculed heavily.
The fact that it is deemed "somewhat normal" or "the Nintendo way" on a Nintendo console only means that people expect less from Nintendo (in terms of UI/UX, not games). that should not be the case.
So the Wii U UI looks childish? pfff.
I'm pretty sure a bunch of jumbled random a** boxes is a little more "kiddie" as you would call it.....
Oh, and atleast the avatars can actually be used in action. UNLIKE EVERY OTHER PLATFORM.
hey maybe it's just me....oh wait....it isn't lol.
As you see here, all of your friends and randoms appear to greet you with insight to other games and inform you on their activity...Seems like a flawless and very social design to me.
The Xbox One dashboard is full of ads and animation themed icons/ boxes. Bland background, sloppy layout of settings and other apps . it just doesn't compare.
What about the ps4's interface? It seems as if everything is layed out quite alright, but again there are limited options here. With the string layout it seems awkward to access apps unlike with the second screen gamepad on Wii u that can be used toward improving the experience with everyone you love to play games with. The Wii U's UI was rough at first, but now that everything is somewhat laid out in front of you from the get-go i would have to say it is the cleanest OS we have seen for next gen platforms..

Wii U- Getting the most unique experiences with mid - range graphics, Best exclusives and mediocre third party support.
PS4- Has mediocre exclusives, best third party support, high end graphics, not a big jump from ps3.

#233091 Where do you see Nintendo, Sony & Microsoft in 3 years? Good and Bad.

Microsoft
Good-
- I see the Xbox 360 being the cheap console of choice for casuals, and consumers who don't have the money to invest into next gen consoles.
- Xbox 360 will have a slight incline in sales for the next few years.
- The One, will see a redesign, making it look much sleeker and cheaper.
- The Kinect 2.0 will unveil tremendous innovation if developers see good sales on Xbox One, resulting in a strong desire to pay extra for the console.
- Microsoft ensures even with poor sales that they still get the exclusive DLC and deals seen last gen.
Bad-
- The Xbox One is seen as a casual box, mainly used for a high quality multimedia box.
- This will help drive the sales but Microsoft will leave the gaming console market, as it see it as dying.
- The Xbox One will be seen as a failure in the gaming communities eyes and the Xbox One will start to lose support due to bad sales.
- The Xbox One will have a massive price drop in the coming years due to terrible sales
- Microsoft will either discontinue it, like Sega did with the Saturn, or they will just let it flop and never return to the console market.
- None of the good will matter if the Xbox One doesn't pick up the pace.
Sony
Good-
- The Playstation 4 is the developer console of choice for third parties.
- The architecture will make it easy for PS4 to become a home console and gaming PC hybrid, as it will get a lot of PC ports.
- This may possibly hurt PC sales more resulting in higher market share for Sony as they capture the Xbox one and casual PC gaming audience.
- the PS4 will be a very solid and all around good investment for almost everyone around the world, but if not marketed correctly could hurt Sony because of having so many products on the market.(PSP, PS3, Vita)
Bad-
- The Vita bombs costing Sony quite a bit of money wasted.
- On top of them taking a loss on the PS4, this hurts them harder then most would think.
- I see Sony gaining profit early on, but struggling to keep success after Vita bombs.
- The PS4 will see little to no innovation and will be seen as the slightly better and more expensive version of the PS3.
- Due to Sony having the most third party support , a lot of shovelware will arrive on the console.
Nintendo
Good-
- Once Sony starts to gain momentum , Nintendo will be a step ahead with a much larger library of quality games, a cheaper price point, a more appealing and simplistic online service for free, and a much diverse collection of developers and genres.
- Nintendo will be the Indie developer kings of this generation, because of the very easy process of porting games over from the PC versions on to the E-shop.
- Third Party support will pick up and be close to what the PS4 receives as the architecture of both consoles resembles PC gaming rigs.
- Unique, and fresh new IPs will arrive along with revamps on very old , legendary Nintendo franchises.
- Sales will ramp up quickly in 2014 with all the massive first party games being released at a steady pace for Wii U all throughout the rest of 2013, 2014, and in 2015 nintendo will see a rapid increase in Wii U profit and software sales.
- By 2016 Nintendo will be head to head with Sony battling it out as it was last gen with Xbox 360 and PS3.
- They are no longer behind, they are at the forefront of gaming as they were in the 80's.
- The publicity they get will be astonishing, because of the business efforts they make to keep the gaming industry creative.
- The 3DS will be the best selling console of all time by 2016, or 2017 if the software pacing is correct.
Bad-
- Wii U will see sloppy support until the end of 2014 by third parties.
- critics will be hard until the Wii U gets good third party support.
- The tech will start to see age by 2017, but games will still run great on the console.

Wii U Hardware
Voice recognition is EASILY possible. esp with the mic built in on the GamePad.
The Wii U hardware has sooooooooo much potential, it's not even funny.
Actually, watching the xbox demo with smartglass, i kept thinking how cumbersome it was. Who wants to have to use a smart phone or tablet to intereact with your xbox. After all, why use the tv for your smartphone intereaction when you could just as easily see it on your phone without having to injure your neck to see what you need.
Enter Wii U GamePad. Screen already there. touch mechanism already there.
MS and Sony have convoluted, expensive ways of trying to approximate the GamePad. Only they can't do it near as well.
Even voice recognition. Using the Wii U mic, it's a piece of cake.
