#259150 Supposed 3DS Successor

Posted by Gnomishek on 05 December 2013 - 02:44 PM in General Gaming

We all know that one day Nintendo will start developing a successor to the 3DS. In fact, Miyamoto himself stated that they have already started thinking about it.

http://news.cnet.com...-3ds-successor/

So, let's speculate a bit.

First thing - the 3DS is, beyond any doubts, going to stick around for another 3-4, maybe even 5 years. The system has been selling like hot cakes ever since its price cut in August 2011. Huge success for Nintendo ! With that, it's been almost 3 years since the system launched and I think at this point we can start wondering about what the future of Nintendo handhelds holds.

Now, Nintendo, in my opinion, is the most unpredictable company in the market, which makes it hard to guess what ideas they might come up with. However, what we can do here is to discuss what we want it to be as potential consumers. What kind of a device you want it to be ?

And Tyrion's answer was proven wrong in the long run.

Southerners... What do they know about what lies beyond the Wall ?

#256082 Kojima: Shocking PS4 announcement that will blow your mind at PS4 All Access tom

PS5 announcement would, I have to admit, be totally mindblowing.

As Benjen Stark said "Nothing before 'but' really counts"; Nintendo are not going to force themselves to be something they are not. They are not interested in M-rated BS or insecure "darker" schlock. They have ONE mission statement: to make games that are FUN and that people of all ages, walks of life, and skill levels can enjoy.

As Tyrion Lannister answered "But..."

#247317 Wind Waker HD - Who's playing?

Posted by Gnomishek on 21 September 2013 - 12:45 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Guys, I'm seriously considering getting me a Wii U just to play this game. Never happened to play before. So please tell me, how huge the game is ? How long does it take to beat it ?

#247065 PS4 will have a drought, Sony hoping indies step up to fill the gap.

Posted by Gnomishek on 19 September 2013 - 05:48 PM in General Gaming

Post launch drought, just like every console in recent memory. Also, I'm pretty sure most of those titles you're interested in are available on other systems.

Yes, half of them.

There's also a list of games Sony plans to release within the launch window. It's not fantastic but not really bad as well.

#247061 IGN List their Top 25 Wii U Games

Posted by Gnomishek on 19 September 2013 - 05:36 PM in General Gaming

Oh you.

Lists like these are not good, it's just some ogre's opinion on rainbow. Everyone will have their own lists.
For instance, mine would feature trine 2 in the top 5.

Trine 2 was and is absolutely fantastic. One of the finest games of the 7'th generation.

I don't know what 'drought' they are talking about.

PS4 has a solid launch line up. It has 7 titles that I find particularly appealing. Can't recall what console had more. For instance, here's the Xbox 360 lauch titles. Just have a look at this list. It's horrible. And PS3 was no better.

Speaking of the Wii U, its start was less impressive that PS4 is going to be IMO.

#238257 Killer Instinct 2013 Main Theme, Jago Theme and Character Select Theme.

Posted by Gnomishek on 10 August 2013 - 10:57 AM in General Gaming

Nah. Save yourself $500 and just buy the music from iTunes when it inevitably comes out.

Or you could purchase the X1. Its looking like a decent console. But you won't have to purchase the KI game - you just have to purchase each character to make this FREE to play title actually FUN to play. Lol

Hm.. Is that officially confirmed information ?

I would love to have the actual disc in my collection. Free to play usually means digital distribution.

#238099 Xenoblade In Stock!

Posted by Gnomishek on 09 August 2013 - 04:22 PM in General Gaming

Pardon me guys, but.. Why is it 90$ ?

I noticed that Wii games, even pre-owned ones are a little more expensive than those for PS3 or 360.

#238090 The Conjuring

Posted by Gnomishek on 09 August 2013 - 03:52 PM in The Café

I watched it several days ago with my wife.

Although it is brimming with classic horror cliches, it is a decent movie that I enjoyed a lot. It highly exceeded my expectations.

#238087 Killer Instinct 2013 Main Theme, Jago Theme and Character Select Theme.

Posted by Gnomishek on 09 August 2013 - 03:43 PM in General Gaming

I never happened to play the original KI game and I don't know what to expect from the new one. It looks fairly decent to me. But the main theme is a piece of absolute awesomeness \m/

For a metal dude like me it's enough reason to purchase Xbox One and KI.

#236307 My choice

Posted by Gnomishek on 31 July 2013 - 10:07 PM in General Gaming

I had never owned a handheld console. You know, if you are mostly a PC gamer, you might have somewhat skeptical attitude even towards home consoles, not to mention handheld devices. That was until one moment when I felt a wierd, unexplainable and unresistable urge to spend some cash. Sometimes it happens. You got to buy something immediately to settle your nerves. It could be anything - a book, a protein shake, a bag of oranges or a new t-shirt. Perhaps, it is a mania of sorts, something like pyromania, kleptomania, etc. But, indeed, it is a feeling that is hard to resist. So, on that very day I decided to go to my local Gamestop to seek for a relief. One though struck me as I was approaching - I f***ing need to get a handheld device. But which one to choose ?

For almost half an hour I was thoroughly analyzing all the possible outcomes of such investment. Vita or 3DS ? At one point I almost decided to get me a Vita - more powerful system, has Stardust (to which I was insanely addicted once), Soul Sacrifice, Dragon's Crown, Uncharted. All those are solid arguments to favor Vita. On the other hand, there is 3DS - less powerful, but.. Plays DS games, has Zelda, Starfox, Monster Hunter 3 and Donkey Kong. After quick brainstorming and recalling what I had known about the system, I made up my mind. And my choice, as you might expect, was... 3DS.

It was the first OFFICIAL Nintendo console I bought (I believe I mentioned buying an NES clone in the mid 90's, which, despite having the same exact library of games as the original NES, can't be considered an official Nintendo system). And you know what ? It is wonderful !

I don't want to waste your time telling you what you all already know, so I will just say that I totally enjoy the system (and remember, I'm a PC gamer for the most part). The only thing that looks a little anachronic to me is the stylus. It may feel a little clumsy when you have to use it in certain games. But it doesn't really matter. I do believe that I made the right choice and picked the system with solid library of amazing games. Having missed Ocarina of Time (an unexcusable thing for someone who consider him/herself a gamer), I now clearly see and understand why it is believed to be one of the very finest games in history.

There is something VERY special about Nintendo. Chances are that it will be Nintendo who is going to bring me back the sweetest joy of playing games, just the way it was when I was a kid.

Sorry for that stream of consciousness, folks. Just felt like speaking out a bit

#229512 What Kickstarters have you backed?

Posted by Gnomishek on 06 July 2013 - 08:56 PM in General Gaming

Project Eternity

Torment: Tides of Numenera

Grim Dawn

Knock-Knock !

Those 4 are the most appealing to me.

#228800 Why are people saying Wii U doesn't have good third party support?

Posted by Gnomishek on 04 July 2013 - 11:38 AM in Wii U Games and Software

BF4

KH3
Likely to miss out on BG&E2

Wolfenstein

Etc. Etc. too lazy to come up with more, but it's missing out on quite a lot and I can honestly name no third party game I want to buy on Wii U, even though I would prefer Rayman Legends on Wii U. A game which should have been long out by now.

Exactly. That's what I was talking about.

#227212 When do you think Nintendo will unveil the successor to the 3DS?

My guess is 2016.

Long live 3DS, you are a fantastic system !

#227211 Google developing Android based console

Posted by Gnomishek on 28 June 2013 - 02:10 PM in General Gaming

According to the Wall Street Journal, Google is actively developing an Android-based games console, which could arrive as soon as this fall. Citing anonymous sources, the report claims that the console is part of a bevy of secret projects, including a new smartwatch and a revamped version of its failed Nexus Q set-top streaming device. Additional details are sparse, but given the recent influx of Android gaming platforms, like the Ouya, Project Shield, GameStick, and others, a Google-produced gaming product isn't outside the realm of reason.

#223838 Zelda U to contain a bit of Skyrim

Posted by Gnomishek on 18 June 2013 - 08:50 PM in Wii U Games and Software

That would be awesome. Skyrim is, beyond any doubts, one of the very finest games that defined the 7'th generation. It's a titan of a game, a milestone.

#223631 Thief 4 (PS4) Gameplay (33 minutes)

Posted by Gnomishek on 18 June 2013 - 02:09 PM in General Gaming

Yeah that game seems really cool

I played dishonored on ps3 it looks like the same (experience)

Did u go at the E3 ?

Actually, Dishonored is a kind of a tribute to the old Thief. You can clearly see where the roots of the game are.

#223626 Have you ever experienced a natural disaster?

Hurricane Sandy in New York City. If it can be considered a disater, of course.

#223624 "Console Wars"

Wait. Do you mean which console will probably sell better than others or your question is about who won the E3 ?

#222532 Has anyone dropped a class before?

Posted by Gnomishek on 15 June 2013 - 11:28 PM in The Café

I think the idea of dropping a college class is just a stupid thing to do unless you got a valid reason - like a deployment or a serious situation that cannot be delayed much further.  Too many people want the easy way out.  Why not just get the F and feel good about at least trying?

Yeah, screwing up your GPA is certainly a good idea.

And you guys wonder why I would rather live in Canada or the UK? I'm embarrassed to be an American at times.

You are being a bigot and a lot of people don't like bigots.

So you called him a bigot just because his point of view contradicts to yours. Isn't that a perfect example of bigotry ?
