How about they let the publishers decide? Some games deserve to cost $60, while others only deserve to cost 50. I think publishers should decide for every individual game.

I don't know, while yes, COD does have some blame, most of it(99.9%)goes to the idiots who think being COD sells.(Didn't work for everyone else who tried it, why should it work for them?)

Extremely over dramatic freaking out aside, this could have positive and negative implications for me. On the positive side, it means that they are putting lots of effort into making this game great. On the negative side, this means that they could be making an uninteresting game. If I wanted an XBox/PS3 game, I would get a XBox/PS3. I'm hoping that this game will still have that Nintendo feel.

It's by Retro. It will have the Nintendo feel, because Creativity flows through they're veins. As long as it's not a cut and paste FPS, it'll be fine.

Well it seems interesting, although what I get from it is more of a 3D display, rather than VR.

If Nintendo did have you pay for the online service, I would hope that they would do the smart thing and offer a lifetime account option as well.

The drive in the Wii U = Blu-Ray drive, operating in a slightly different way to ordinary Blu-Ray drives, to avoid royalty or license fees.

Yes it does.
Optical disc drives aren't magic, they're all pretty much the same.
The specs only match that of Blu-Ray.

They're not using it to play Blu-Ray movies, they're using it to play Blu-Ray discs containing games.
This allows them to get away with the fee for having the logo on the box, and playing movies from the discs.

The Wii U will have a Blu-Ray drive, not having the ability for it to play your Blu-Ray movies only saves then about $5.
That's per console.

So, I don't think not having DVD playback is that important to cost.

The Wii U will not have a Blu-Ray Drive, it's using it's own disc format that can store as much data as a Blu-Ray.

As much as I want to believe that a My Little Pony games would be awesome I don't think it would be.

If they were to make a game it would be marketed towards the show's primary demographic(little girls) and that would make it more like My Little Pony shovel-ware games that were from the previous generations.
