#56132 Greetings Programs!

Posted by Terrabyte20xx on 21 January 2012 - 11:37 AM in Introduction Central

Hey!

I'm Terrabyte20xx, I'm a diehard Nintendo fan, always have been since I played my N64, and my cousins' NES. I'm a hardcore Retro gamer/collector, and I hope to have a great time here on TheWiiU.com!

#56153 Wii U camera

Posted by Terrabyte20xx on 21 January 2012 - 02:46 PM in Wii U Hardware

I don't think so, mainly because the controller is already expencive as is. I do, however, belive that it will be of higher quality than the 3DS, and by a mile.

#56154 Is "Wii U" the console's final name?

Posted by Terrabyte20xx on 21 January 2012 - 03:01 PM in Wii U Hardware

Now there has been alot of speculation as to whether Wii U is the official name of the new console, or if it's a placeholder, like Revolution, or Dolphin.

I belive it's a place holder, but for one main reason:http://www.WiiU.com

If you go there, You will find that Nintendo doesn't own the domain name, it's not even a fan site lik Wii U Blog, or Wii U Go.

After doing some reaserch, I found that this is the only console name, other than Nes.com(more on that in a minute), that doesn't link to Nintendo's website in some form or fashon. If you were to go to: http://Wii.com, or http://N64.com It will send you to nintendo's website. If you go to http://gamecube.com, it sends you to the where to buy page from Nintendo's Website. And if you go to http://snes.com, it sends you to the Virtual Console page from Nintendo's website.

The reason nes.com doesn't send you to Nintendo's website, is because it's owned by the New England Sports Center.

So yeah, My beliefe on why Wii U isn't the official name for the new system. But those are just my thoughts though, what do you guys think?

EDIT:Oh, and one other thing is the whole 3DS debacle. Many thought the 3DS was just another DS, and many more thought that Wii U was just an add on for the Wii. There's another reason as to why I think they'll change the name.

#56162 PlayStation 4 will probably be alot stronger then the Wii U and Xbox 720

Posted by Terrabyte20xx on 21 January 2012 - 03:32 PM in Wii U Hardware

I have a very hard time beliveing that it won't come out until 2016, because at that point why not just skip the entire generation of consoles. And if they did that, they would be losing a ton of money since, you know, who wants to buy a PS3 when you can get a NeXbox or the Wii U?

Oh, one other thing, and I'll edit this into my first post, is the whole 3DS debacle. Many thought the 3DS was just another DS, and many more thought that Wii U was just an add on for the Wii. There's another reason as to why I think they'll change the name.

As for my thoughts on the name itself, I can see why people hate it, and I can see why people like it. But one thing is for sure, everyone is going to know when the Wii U is coming down the block.(Man it's loud.)

#56170 What should Nintendo's online be called

Posted by Terrabyte20xx on 21 January 2012 - 04:16 PM in Wii U Hardware

My only problem with that is that PS fanboys are probably scream that we stole the network (as in the name Playstation Network, Nintendo Network, see what I mean?) from PSN.

#56176 Should the Wii U Games include DLC?

Posted by Terrabyte20xx on 21 January 2012 - 04:41 PM in Wii U Hardware

The Wii U should allow DLC, but it should also have the ability to patch. Wii games like The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword and Metroid: Other M needed patches.

But Skyward Sword did get a patch..... or at least a fix.

#56207 Project C.A.R.S.

Posted by Terrabyte20xx on 21 January 2012 - 06:50 PM in Wii U Games and Software

This looks very interesting, I see myself using the Wii U tablet as the stering wheel, racing against other players, and looking down at the screen for my rear view mirror!

Totally keeping this on my watch list!

#56230 Future Proof?

Posted by Terrabyte20xx on 21 January 2012 - 08:30 PM in Wii U Hardware

Well, if you want to be technical, All systems will only last "3-4 years" of being on top. Technology is always changing, always getting better. But I don't think so, right now we've hit a peak when it comes to graphics AND affordability.

There is always the chance that another company will make a bigger and better machine, but at what cost? Both Sony and Microsoft know that to do that they would have to do one of two things. The could either: 1. Do another $600 dollar machine, or 2. Sell it at a MAJOR loss.

Nither of these seem feasable, because they would lose too much money, and lets face it, gaming is a buisiness.

So now, I don't think the Wii U will be outmatched for a very long while.

#56242 Is "Wii U" the console's final name?

Posted by Terrabyte20xx on 21 January 2012 - 09:04 PM in Wii U Hardware

Since the final form of Wii U will be revealed at E3, It's safe to assume that if they were changing the name, it would happen then too. It's not unusual for it to happen, Both Gamecube and Wii had thier names changed at E3 the year of their release.

Oh, another reason I think it's going to change.

#56246 Future Proof?

Posted by Terrabyte20xx on 21 January 2012 - 09:13 PM in Wii U Hardware

btw we havent even come close to hitting a peak in graphics these consoles are really outdated compared to even modern day regular pc's

I said Graphics and Affordability.
You can have the best graphics in the world, but it won't mean jack if no one has the money to buy it, PS3's $600 price proved that.

#56249 Future Proof?

Posted by Terrabyte20xx on 21 January 2012 - 09:16 PM in Wii U Hardware

But We still have hit that peak, in about 5-6 years, the peak will move up, but for right now, it's stuck where it is.

EDIT: And technically, 360 was very inferior to the PS3, but because it had that 1 year to have the market, it made the rules for the generation.

#56591 Wii U Price Discussion

Posted by Terrabyte20xx on 23 January 2012 - 09:15 AM in Wii U Hardware

I really feel that $300 is the way Nintendo is going. Maybe $350, but no more than that.

#56594 Third Parties Have Recieved Final Wii U Dev Kits

Posted by Terrabyte20xx on 23 January 2012 - 09:26 AM in Wii U Hardware

I could see them making the circle pads clickable, it seems like an easy fix in my head, but I don't know the tech.

#56595 Is "Wii U" the console's final name?

Posted by Terrabyte20xx on 23 January 2012 - 09:29 AM in Wii U Hardware

I just don't think it's final, I know alot of people do, but somthing just doesn't ring a bell for me. Maybe it's the whole 3DS thing, or the fact that other gamers still see the word Wii as casual, but I'm just not getting the vibe like I did when they announced the Wii, or the Gamecube names.

Edit: Oh, and I remember Reggie saying that the people buying the Wii U will not be the same as the people who bought the Wii, so why would the Wii Brand name matter?

#56598 RUMOR: Final Dev Kits more powerful than anticipated

Posted by Terrabyte20xx on 23 January 2012 - 09:34 AM in Wii U Hardware

I see this as good news, and now I can't wait to find out what games will be annouced at E3!

#56601 What should Nintendo's online be called

Posted by Terrabyte20xx on 23 January 2012 - 09:39 AM in Wii U Hardware

We shouldn't get too excited over Nintendo Network.

This article says that it is nothing more than Nintendo WFC:
http://mynintendonew...e-and-the-same/

In other words, Nintendo Network is nothing more than the icon in the corner that says,"Hey, you can play this online!"

I still think the actual service should be call Club Nintendo.....

#56612 Retro Studios are working on a Wii U game

Posted by Terrabyte20xx on 23 January 2012 - 10:41 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Killer Instinct?

Yeah, I know the rights to that one are in legal limbo, but I can still dream.....

#56744 Star Fox Wii U (?)

Posted by Terrabyte20xx on 23 January 2012 - 04:26 PM in Wii U Games and Software

While it would be cool, I need more evidence before I belive it.

#56950 Nintendo's Wii U accessory controllers

Posted by Terrabyte20xx on 24 January 2012 - 11:02 AM in Wii U Hardware

I would thin it would be a wireless version of the Classic Controller Pro. Maybe modified just a little, but you get the idea.

#56951 Article: 2012 Predictions: The Wii U Will Struggle

Posted by Terrabyte20xx on 24 January 2012 - 11:13 AM in Wii U Hardware

Meh, The only one I saw that had anything to do with the Wii U is them saying the name is too similar, and I've already voice my thoughts on a different thread.

Case in point, fail article.

#56952 Is "Wii U" the console's final name?

Posted by Terrabyte20xx on 24 January 2012 - 11:19 AM in Wii U Hardware

Stream would be okay I guess. To tell the truth, I could care less what the will be, I'm just saying that it's going to change.

#56953 What should Nintendo name the Wii U usernames?

Posted by Terrabyte20xx on 24 January 2012 - 11:22 AM in Wii U Hardware

They're not going to use friend codes.
If the online system is great, so will be the names.

#56954 *IDEA* Wii U Release Date

I wouldn't doubt that, but I could see it being August....
