I still don't think you understand the industry. If you think the playstation was a rip off the snes then Nintendo ripped off the atari consoles. The snes and the playstation 1 was very different. The only thing I can come up with is that both is consoles.
Also sony didn't use any parts of snes to make a their console. The playstation had a cd, 3d graphics (polygons), cd player well you get the idea.
They both have different audiences.
I think you should read this, of course the playstation isn't a rip off of the SNES, but it was originally meant to be a Nintendo Licensed console. Well The "Play Station" in place of the CD-i. Of course, they completely changed everything except the controller layout (hence why everything today is a SNES controller with add ons).
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nintendo_PlayStation
Plus, the SNES had Polygons with the Super FX chip and Star Fox.

Sad but true. Really though, the Zelda Tech Demo from last year should have been proof enough. Even Satoru Iwata said The Zelda HD Wii U Tech Demo Wouldn’t Be Possible On Other Consoles.
But anyway, I'm not worried about what the haters will say. In fact, their nonsense can make for some pretty good entertainment from time to time.
It's the only reason I go on IGN, the comments are so stupid it's entertaining.

You had to sign an NDA about ACIII reveal?
Yeah, I write for a Nintendo based website.

But yeah, this seems to be developers sticking by their NDA's, I've had to sign a few in the past, the most recent being about the ACIII reveal back in March.

The Dreamcast would've been great if Sega didn't mess up with the Saturn, and decide that the DC was practically dead before they even launched it.

On topic:
Yeah I think that the Wii U has the potential to be the best Nintendo console, just depends on the games more than anything.

Agreed. Still subbed to the new ONM, but they're just not the same in a lot of ways. It might have just been the content though I guess. NOM reviewed plenty of "hardcore/mature" games alongside Nintendo ones, whereas ONM seems to get bogged down by the shovelware a lot of the time..
Yeah, I guess it's that, but they also had that article each month about gaming and culture in japan ( I think Chris Kohler wrote it), which was what got me into animé and stuff, they just sounded a lot more fun.
And I know what it's like being bogged down with writing about shovelware, I write for a Nintendo website and sometimes review them, because no-one else wants to.
ah i misinterpreted as you saying you had the game in a fully playable version on disc
No worries man, I can see how that happened.

I think I have that one too.
I was more of a NOM man back in the day though, I must say..
So was I, I really just wanted to get some of the E3 footage though (I didn't have much access to the internet back then).
I didn't really like it when NOM changed publishers and staff, the writing style of the new lot of ONM really doesn't come across as well.

please do tell.
NGamer Magazine (or some sort of Nintendo Magazine). It's only footage of E3 2006.

More than powerful enough, although as Stewox pointed out, if it is like a 6770, it'll just be an equivalent custom chip, not an actual 6770.So it's powerful enough to make a system worth 350-400 bucks?
But yeah, this is a fake news post which is made up of lots of Neogaf rumours.

Yup, and I agree with their point.
Even though I would dislike some rumors, like the price, non-clickable slider, a Radeon that doesn't seem too powerful... This is the kind of thing that gets me hyped for E3. I like it when rumors start popping up and we can speculate the hell out of them because nobody knows the credibility of them.
5x power of Xbox, or of Xbox 360?
360, I should've made that a bit clearer

#Graphic card will be a Radeon HD 6770. My fears laid to rest, the gpu can support dx11 yes!!!!!
People the gpu is not too shabby check it out: http://www.amd.com/u...overview.aspx#2
Direct X is Microsoft only, the features it uses would be available on new GPUs anyway.

Seems fake, since Nintendo said they wasn't going to announce the release date on e3. But this guys says it releases in Novemeber.
The 6770 can't run bf3 in even 30fps
It can actually, if it wasn't running Fraps at the same time. not on ultra though.

Some more translations just came in... Looking good so far, but I'm still wondering how much "less powerful" it is than Xbox 8, and the lack of triggers is dissapointing.
But on the bright side, UNREAL ENGINE 4 CONFIRMED!(maybe)
>Wii U has 2GB of RAM, 560MB of that are for the OS
>supports DX11, they managed to port Unreal Engine 4 on it
>less powerful than Xbox 8
>2 tablet-pads are supported
>Release Date: 23 November
>Ubisoft will bring Rayman Legends, ACIII, Rabbids Party, Killer Freaks, The Avengers and Just Dance 4 on it
>That little button under the D-Pad on the left of the controller is somehow linked to the Wii Vitality Sensor
>No Analog R2/L2 unlike 360 controller/DualShock3
Only Microsoft Products support DirectX unless he meant DX11 like effects. Also, 560MB is crazy for an OS, even if it can do loads of stuff even windows XP only takes up 350MB max on the pro version.
I think this is fake.
#79427 Which Controller is better?

So the old design is the one with the analog sticks right because that's how it is being presented to me.
I prefer the old design (Analogue stick)
The patent shows the old design (sticks) has better grip than the circle pad controller
The pictures clearer say New and Old above them, I think Nintendo must've had both designs already, and just chose one after getting the reactions from developers.
My View:
I like both of the controllers, but I voted for the 'new' one because the buttons have better positioning.
The GC controller was nigh-on perfect, and I disagree with the people who say the triggers should be replaced with the 360's, the GC's can be used for 2 functions, like in rogue squadron where they were pressure sensitive for acceleration and you clicked them in for a form change (like the X-wing opening/closing it's wings). The only real problems I had with the controller was that the Z-button was too small and so was the C-stick, which is an analogue stick anyway so I don't get why some of you say it isn't.
