#62275 Your reaction to Apple joining the console race

Posted by InsaneLaw on 18 February 2012 - 09:50 AM in General Gaming

I don't get why people think that Macs aren't PCs, they are, the difference really being the operating system.

So it's either Windows, or Linux based systems such as Mac OSX when it comes to PCs.

Also, Wndows based PCs are cheaper, especially if you build one your self.

#60791 Yay or Nay for Mad World 2 on the Wii U?

Posted by InsaneLaw on 10 February 2012 - 07:21 AM in Wii U Games and Software

I'd like a Madworld 2, loved the first one, it was a bit short but that helped deal with it getting a bit repetitive.

#57182 Xbox 720 to be 20% more powerful then the Wii U

Posted by InsaneLaw on 25 January 2012 - 05:10 AM in Wii U Hardware

Right there's a few things that are needed to help this move along.

1. Consoles don't use PC graphics card, only GPU's based on their tech, they end up being completely different and essentially more powerful.
2. DirectX is only used in Microsoft Products such as Windows and the Xbox brand (which was originally called Project DirectXbox) every other competitor uses their own developed API engine to make full use of the hardware, so it doesn't matter about DX11 and Shader Model 5.0, the Wii itself didn't even use shaders, it used TEVs, the Wii U will use shaders but in it's own way.
3. The Wii U could always add new tech, just because early dev kits were based off of the R770, doesn't mean they are now, and even then, they still had stuff like Hardware Tesselation, also Nintendo has said that the machine can do SterioScopic 3D, which the 4800 series can't do.

#58094 Xbox 720 to be 20% more powerful then the Wii U

Posted by InsaneLaw on 28 January 2012 - 05:15 AM in Wii U Hardware

You basically have it here, ATI has been putting tesslation hardware into their GPUs since what feels like the beginning of time, even the 360 has tesselation hardware the PS3 doesn't! Also, Shader Model 5.0 will matter, only the lack of DirectX 11 support, which is useless anyway, since all DX11 did was standardize tesslation units, and standardize GPGPU (General Purpose Graphics Processing Unit... More on that later ;) ) also, just like there was nothing stopping the PS3 from displaying 3D, there really wasn't anything stopping the WiiU to begin with either...

Well actually, it won't, Shader Model 5.0 is part of the HLSL that Direct3D uses and other APIs use their own shader modelling language. So Nintendo could have something equivalent or even better in theirs.

#74354 Wonder if the Japanese Bird Garden Demo will be on the Wii U at launch?

Posted by InsaneLaw on 24 April 2012 - 02:35 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Thinking about it, I may have misread that quote, but yeah, PS360 hardware can't do some of the things in the demo, and it was rendering 2 things at once, with the controller and T.V showing 2 different perspectives.

It's more than likely that the Wii U specs have got greater since then, so I'm sure they'll have new hardware demos as well as showing off the games.

#73999 Wonder if the Japanese Bird Garden Demo will be on the Wii U at launch?

Posted by InsaneLaw on 23 April 2012 - 06:42 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Why would you make such a stupid statement? The demo is getting on a year old before the wii U hardware is finalised or even fully designed. They used other footage from ps3/360 games to demonstrate wii U.

Stop right there, that was only for the third party trailer. The bird Demo was commissioned by Nintendo made on Wii U hardware at the time to demonstrate the capabilities the system had at the time, both it, and the Zelda demo, with the Zelda Demo being made by the Nintendo EAD Zelda team including Aonuma.

Please, actually read about what your saying instead of skimming over things and assuming your right.

#73302 Will there be differnet Wii U types?

Posted by InsaneLaw on 20 April 2012 - 03:04 AM in Wii U Hardware

It has internal flash memory, but nothing's been confirmed in terms of how much. It could have 16GB for all we know.

#84583 Will the new controller be as tiring as the motion control?

Posted by InsaneLaw on 05 June 2012 - 03:21 PM in Wii U Hardware

If you found Wii Remote games tiring, you'd have to be seriously unfit.

#64937 Will F-Zero make a comeback ?

Posted by InsaneLaw on 05 March 2012 - 02:28 PM in Wii U Games and Software

All it really needs for the Wii U is a 30 player online mode with customisable vehicles (Speed, Weight etc) on top of what was in GX (<3 that game).

Maybe a track maker as well.

#62064 WiiU Trophy/Achievement system

Posted by InsaneLaw on 17 February 2012 - 05:00 AM in Wii U Hardware

Wouldn't they be called Accomplishments like in the 3DS StreetPass Mii Plaza?

#65480 WiiU game prices

Posted by InsaneLaw on 09 March 2012 - 02:10 AM in Wii U Hardware

I'm about to confuse you all now by using a different currency. :P I like to think that games will be £40, although I have a feeling that most games will be nearer the £50 mark when they're initially released.

Thing is, by then, GAME and Gamestation probably won't exist anymore, so no-one will sell at the RRP and will probably end up cheaper anyway, well, except at HMV if that's still around as a store.

#82866 WiiU CPU Revealed by Patent: "Enhanced PowerPC 750" ?

Posted by InsaneLaw on 02 June 2012 - 12:06 PM in Wii U Hardware

Really ? Link me to it

Easy to find.
http://en.wikipedia....werPC_740.2F750

The CPU is like 15 years old

Also, it only talks about the Power 7 in the article in the OP, the PowerPC and Power architecture are nothing alike.

#82708 WiiU CPU Revealed by Patent: "Enhanced PowerPC 750" ?

Posted by InsaneLaw on 02 June 2012 - 01:11 AM in Wii U Hardware

Change the title, this is obviously fake, the PowerPC 750 is what the GC/Wii CPU was based on.

#78340 WiiPad Rumored to use Android OS:

Posted by InsaneLaw on 14 May 2012 - 11:02 AM in Wii U Hardware

It's like this in order for you to see a different view from what's on the main tv screen, their has to be some kind of CPU/gpu/ram or whatever. We expect the Wii U to stream content to the WiiPad, run the game, recognize your face, allow for touch recognition, and display everything in 1080p. Either this is the most powerful console ever and you need to sit it inside an ice cooler just to keep it from exploding or the WiiPad does have processors/CPU/gpu/arm whatever. I love speculation but I hate bs. What your trying to say is that the WiiPad is just a clear piece of glass and plastic until the console itself streams something to it. Since you work at nintendo tell me how can I get a job

He's just saying that it won't be powerful enough to run applications and games on it's own, the Wii U will stream everything to it, ofcourse it has to have a few chips inside of the controller to run the touchscreen, camera and stuff, but you're talking like the thing can run on its own, which it won't, it's sort of like a T.V with a touchscreen and extras more than anything.

#74653 Wii U:6 cores?

Posted by InsaneLaw on 24 April 2012 - 11:31 PM in Wii U Hardware

cutally the PS3's Cell has 1 core with the rest being SPE's, it's alot more complicated than a normal CPU hence why it was so difficult to work with.

Also, why the heck report such an unreliable source? I mean it's so fake it should just be brushed under the carpet as if it wasn't there.

#61607 Wii U Zelda Story Ideas?

Posted by InsaneLaw on 14 February 2012 - 11:46 AM in Wii U Games and Software

What's the point of having tons of different swords and shields when you can have customisation? Skyward Sword has it, and although it can feel like a pain to gather the items necessary to upgrade, it can be worthwhile.

#61590 Wii U Zelda Story Ideas?

Posted by InsaneLaw on 14 February 2012 - 08:05 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Yeah, it's Hylian, they say it in the games quite a lot, and it's why it's Lake Hylia and not Hyrulia.

I think it should be set in the future after Twilight Princess, with Hyrule becoming more of a big city but more like the 1700's, when the industrial revolution came about, I mean, there's already Spirit Tracks with the Train.

#57800 Wii U Wishlist

Posted by InsaneLaw on 27 January 2012 - 06:02 AM in Wii U Games and Software

I want a full 3D(not 3DS 3D, although that's a bonus) HD remake of Final Fantasy VI, it's already the best FF ever and making it with Gorgeous 3D graphics and voice acting will probably make the story even better, the Opera Scene would be great, and Ultros would be oh so funny.

#87584 Wii U Triggers: Analog or Digital?

Posted by InsaneLaw on 13 June 2012 - 11:26 PM in Wii U Hardware

Could play like Gran Turismo and use the right analogue stick to accelerate and break, I personally choose not to do it in GT5, but on GT4, that was the only option for analogue.

#87487 Wii U Triggers: Analog or Digital?

Posted by InsaneLaw on 13 June 2012 - 03:53 PM in Wii U Hardware

They could be somewhat like the PS3 triggers, they have been stated to be "Squishy".

#57711 Wii U tech specs leaked via 'Japanese developer'

Posted by InsaneLaw on 26 January 2012 - 07:08 PM in Wii U Hardware

This article was already outdated on December 3rd, by then Devs were saying it would be far more powerful. This looks like IGN made up stuff (the worst kind, well just below N4G and Gamespot).

#57189 Wii U Price Discussion

Posted by InsaneLaw on 25 January 2012 - 06:01 AM in Wii U Hardware

$300. Final. I wish nintendo was allowed to put a price for us europeans.

Yeah, it's the reason why the 3DS was so expensive at launch, and why the DSi is so expensive. Retailers literally put whatever price they want and say it's an RRP when Nintendo can't set an RRP in the EU.

#57480 Wii U Price Discussion

Posted by InsaneLaw on 26 January 2012 - 08:26 AM in Wii U Hardware

Even the 8GB of flash was only a rumour, the only things Nintendo has said about the storage is that it's flash memory, and can be expanded by SD card or an external HDD.

#61589 Wii U Price Discussion

Posted by InsaneLaw on 14 February 2012 - 08:01 AM in Wii U Hardware

Yeah, I know, I'm from the UK, but it isn't half as bad as in Australia.

#61572 Wii U Price Discussion

Posted by InsaneLaw on 14 February 2012 - 06:26 AM in Wii U Hardware

In Australia, prices are usually seriously over inflated anyway, and the US always gets the best deal (and still complains about pricing).
