So, I suggest they simply fix the blue shell by doing a few things:
First off, only give it to the players in 4th and 5th place. The last few places, as stated above, have very little use for the blue shell, as it hardly benefits them at all. But a 4th place kart might actually gain for launching the blue shell, as there’s a better chance that they could pass up the lead. Having only two positions that can obtain the blue shell would also make it more rare, which would limit its power.Secondly, ground the shell again. In Mario Kart 64, the blue shell would ride along the ground and hit anyone in its path. This was more fun because everyone had to avoid it, rather than just the leader. Also, this gave the blue shell a chance at being destroyed by obstacles in the course, which lessens the ultimate unavoidably factor for the 1st position.

That's hardly a realistic argument. If something had a 99% failure rate there would still be one person with the same product who had no issues. Generally the wii is very reliable but the main issue is the optical drive that is both wii and gamecube disc compatible where the mechanism can fail. Also some wii's have problems reading dual layer discs again likely the early models. The vast majority will have no problems. I have one of the early ps3's which is ps2 compatible and is meant to have a 25% failure rate or similar but mine has been fine with no issues and still working great. That doesn't mean overall its not an un-reliable console. I've had bad luck with the 360 though. About 7 failures in total with 4 being RROD I think. The other 3 were optical drive issues. One was actually returned to me with the RROD issue cured only to find the optical drive didn't work. I've now got 2 jasper 360s which have been faultless but I do tend to install all games to the hdd now to prevent optical drive wear.

I definetly cosign this no online isnt a big deal and isnt needed for every gameI really do not care. Online is an addition to a game, not a demand for every single freakin' game on the market. Could this game have used it? Sure. Am I going to go pout in a corner because it isn't being set up exactly the way I want it to be? No.
Seriously, not that big a deal...
