Do you read Homestuck? If so, do you enjoy it?
How many divorces would you be willing to have before deciding to not get married anymore?

#102388 Will the wii u sale more than wii

Posted by Jakester897 on 26 August 2012 - 04:06 PM in Wii U Hardware

Why is CoD loved so much, you pay $60 for worse courses, same guns, and a crappy 4hr campaign, and blops2 I know is "futuristic" but come on, we have enough futuristic FPS. They are jumping on that bandwagon a little bit late. The FPS genre has turned into a way for developers to steal money from people by making a $30 game and selling it for twice that. And then they make countless unoriginal sequels and everyone goes out and buys them for 3X what their worth. The only FPS that's worth the money is Halo, because at least it has an awesome campaign, but the guns almost never change, ever...

I know, right? I hate CoD. The first Modern Warfare was okay, but for some reason nobody realizes that they are paying $105 (including DLC) for the same game multiple times. I guess you could say the same about Mario, and even Pokémon, but at least they are priced reasonably, and at least they feel different.

One game I'm playing through right now is Borderlands, and it is fantastic. You know why? They actually tried something new and interesting, and it worked.

#102386 2013 3d mario game

Posted by Jakester897 on 26 August 2012 - 04:01 PM in Wii U Games and Software

I don't think I'd want an open world, unless there is/are:
  • Exploration
  • Sidequests
  • Puzzles
  • Hidden Stars/Shines
Neither of the Galaxy games had any of these in their overworlds. I spent about 30 seconds tops in the observatory in between levels.
Meanwhile, I sometimes spent hours exploring Peach's castle in Super Mario 64, and messing about in Isle Delfino.

I would want only two characters to play as, maybe three if they are engaging. As for items, I want many forms, but not if it means making idiotic ones. Rock Mario? Seriously?

#100561 I want Zelda U to have motion controls

Posted by Jakester897 on 18 August 2012 - 08:35 PM in Wii U Games and Software

Motion controls were absolutely fantastic in Skyward Sword. That's not what made it a good game, though.

Nintendo shouldn't really make any Wii U games that require a Wii remote. If anything, they should do both or just gamepad.

Some of these comments make me want to rage but, sigh... motion controls are good for some people(like me) but hated by others. But there is a solution, there is a way to have Skyward Sword accurate sword controls without motion controls. Look at the Wii U Gamepad for a second, with the 2 joysticks instead of one being camera and the other being able to move, how about the one on the left is used for Link to move but the stick on the right is your sword. If your confused look at the joysticks they can move 360 degrees around so let's say wherever you move the stick you also move your sword, which means that your sword also has accurate 360 degree motion. So could do a soft roll on the joystick to move your sword or a flick to slash. This leaves the L, R, ZL, and ZR buttons open for options like the camera and shield. Then the touch screen could be your inventory, a first person view, a copy of what's on the screen, or something completely different.

Or, you know, you could slash people using the touch screen.

#100560 Will the wii u sale more than wii

Posted by Jakester897 on 18 August 2012 - 08:27 PM in Wii U Hardware

I'm hoping that it will but expecting it won't.
The only way it will is if it has a very, very, very superior form of CoD. Most people probably disagree with that, but I sincerely believe that the industry is in such a state.

Also, the topic creator has fantastic grammar.

#98870 (Mock-up) Smash Bros Universe Box Art revealed!

Posted by Jakester897 on 10 August 2012 - 09:37 PM in Wii U Games and Software

If that was the game's actual name I'd give you ten dollars then proceed to leap off of a bridge.

Nice art, though. What is that plane in the top right corner?

#98737 Will the wii u's real rival be the new ouya console?

Posted by Jakester897 on 09 August 2012 - 08:44 PM in Wii U Hardware

Nope.

In the Kickstarter for Ouya, it is mentioned multiple times that the console is open to hacking.
You might think, "Well, it's nice that I don't have to void my warranty to customize my device to my exact liking. How convenient."

You might be missing the point.

This thing will be really easy to pirate on. Sure, the system might get some launch titles, but when developers realize that their games are being played but not sold, they won't return to the system. Then it's just a box that plays Android games on your TV.

i really like the concept, but it's not going to succeed.

#98734 The Hunger Games: Wii U

Posted by Jakester897 on 09 August 2012 - 08:28 PM in Wii U Games and Software

That wouldn't be an MMO. MMOs have persistent worlds. I see where you're coming from, though.

A story mode like this would work way better, in my opinion, if not both single-player and multi-player. Both would hypothetically be pretty sweet, but then you have ragequitters and lag to worry about in a game like this, and that is not a good thing.

#93335 Wii U @ ComicCon

Posted by Jakester897 on 14 July 2012 - 09:22 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Here is the IGN article: http://www.ign.com/a...you-have-to-see
If you listen to what the guy says at the end of the first video, NSBU coming out not to longer after launch. So I guess NSBU is no longer a launch title! :(

That was probably just a misspeaking. This guy just isn't credible enough for such news.

#93246 Wii U is 'definitely more powerful than 360 and PS3' - Scribblenauts dev

Posted by Jakester897 on 13 July 2012 - 02:02 PM in Wii U Hardware

I completely agree. We won't know the power level until someone gets their hands on it, so why even fill your mind with these overly negative or overly positive thoughts? Just be patient and you will know for sure.

#93243 Where did Sony go wrong this generation?

Posted by Jakester897 on 13 July 2012 - 01:55 PM in General Gaming

Lets not forget, after all Sony is a hardware company so it does make sense that the PS3 has better hardware then the XBOX. Like the video says, the problem was that Sony wasted money trying to get other fan bases when they didn't know what their own fan base actually wanted. Nintendo always has Mario and their own titles to have if all else fails. Like what they did with the Wii. Nintendo pretty much carried Nintendo this generation. For XBOX? Halo is becoming their own Mario where if all else fails resort to Halo because they know their own hardcore fan base likes Halo. Even though, I doubt a single title could hold XBOX. If you want your best experience playing on your 360 with Halo you likely are paying money for live. For PS3? They wouldn't have anything because all of their remakes are knock offs of good things. Yeah they have some good exclusives but they don't compare to XBOX or Nintendo's.

What is this garbled mess of messy proportions?
X-Box has two or three decent exclusives. PlayStation has like fifty flajillion. In the IP aspect, they are nearly as covered as Nintendo.
And what knock-offs? I don't know what you are talking about, man.

#93240 ZombiU Multiplayer Ideas

Posted by Jakester897 on 13 July 2012 - 01:45 PM in Wii U Games and Software

Well I was just just throwing down some Ideas and ok maybe I did get carried away with the PvP. The points thing was just what I was calling it for now.

They're good ideas. If they were implemented, I'd totally pay full retail price. Sadly, I just dont believe they will be.

#93238 ZombiU Multiplayer Ideas

Posted by Jakester897 on 13 July 2012 - 01:37 PM in Wii U Games and Software

I don't know if this is just me, but I feel like this game will be included or be a cheap downloadable title, not a full-fledged $60 game. Having a PvP mode is a bit of a stretch; co-op makes more sense.
I wouldn't like that 'points' system. It'd feel like it's copying CoD's zombies mode.

#92311 Everything We Know About Super Smash Bros. 4

Posted by Jakester897 on 06 July 2012 - 01:53 PM in Wii U Games and Software

  • Mario
  • Link
  • Jigglypuff
  • Luigi
  • Pikachu
  • Captain Falcon
  • Ness
  • Kirby
  • Yoshi
  • Samus
  • Fox
  • Donkey Kong
Those characters were all in the first game. They have been in every Smash Bros. game since. Unless Sakurai wants to break the pattern for some utterly crappy reason, those characters are confirmed.
Given how he worked on Uprising, I think it's ultra-likely that Pit will get in, too.

#92306 Ask a stupid question, get a stupid answer!

To match the ceiling.

If an open door is ajar, what is an open jar?

#92304 Will nextgen fail without 100% Digital download

Posted by Jakester897 on 06 July 2012 - 01:31 PM in General Gaming

I'm going to quote Strong Bad on this one.
The short answer is no.
The long answer is nnnnnnnnnnooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

Angry Birds has easy-to-learn, addictive gameplay, and its price on Android phones (Read: $0.00) let its popularity grow to slurptastic proportions. The downloads were not because of the format it was sold in. Of course this guy would say that, considering how he is the head of yet another mobile gaming company I have never heard of.

Now, does that mean I don't want downloadable games? No. But I think I'll be buying a mix, like I do on my PS3 now.

#90826 Greatest game ever made.

Posted by Jakester897 on 29 June 2012 - 01:51 PM in Wii U Games and Software

I don't enjoy the genre, so I can't really provide any input.
I can, however, say that the best game would be a fighting/RPG game with platforming areas and 46 characters. You'd also need to solve puzzles and collect items, and learn a deep, dense combat system.

Yes, this would be in two dimensions. Expect for a racing mini-game better than Mario Kart included, of course.

#90821 Tons of new Wii U info - Nintendo Network, Achievements, Virtual Console, etc

Posted by Jakester897 on 29 June 2012 - 01:41 PM in Wii U Hardware

http://www.computera...e-will-be-free/

Coming from investor meeting.

So, in following, here is what Nintendo's Online service offers.
Free Online Services
DLC
Online Shop containing Virtual Console, Indy, Freeware and Full Retail Titles
Weekly Discounts
Cross Platform Communication with 3DS, PC, Smartphones and Tablets (at later date)
Video Chat with friends
Account System
Message Boards
Achievements (will be posted on Miiverse, not mandatory)
Multiple Levels of Security*
Web Browser w/flash support, private browsing, on (controller)screen keyboard
Multimedia services including Netflix and Hulu
in-game access to Miiverse and Browser

The things NOT included are as follows.
Twitter of Facebook Apps**
Current Friend Code System
Multi Touch

Tons of great news! :).

Only two of those were really news to me: freeware and weekly discounts. The rest has been alluded to in the past. I don't mean to be a negative Nelly, but it just doesn't feel like new info.

I agree its all great news, but the no facebook/twitter thing is bugging me, if nintendo want us to use the wiiu as the homes main multi media/entertainment system why leave out the 2 best scial network sites! #$% ??????
Those 2 sites wud influence certian peoples choices when chosing a next gen console. No unreal 4 and no facebook/twitter, very brave or very stupid?

Uh, can't tell if troll.
You can access both of those sites still. If it kills you to not have a dedicated app for it, nobody is forcing you to buy anything.

This is terrific news! I bet most of the Freeware games have pop-up ads, but that's well worth it. Nintendo is definately on the right path.

Grr! It is d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y!
Repeat after me: "If I put an 'a' in 'definitely', I am definitely an a-hole."

As you can tell, this spelling error infuriates me.

Now I only hope for GameCube games on Virtual Console!

I could have sworn that was confirmed.

#90817 Yoshi Wii U

Posted by Jakester897 on 29 June 2012 - 01:25 PM in Wii U Games and Software

Yoshi's Story was excellent. I want a sequel, or a 3D remake.
The most I could see, though, is an egg-throwing mini game on Nintendoland.

#90814 Wii U Wishlist

Super Mario Galaxy 2D. I'll just halt right there.

#89896 Rumor: Nintendo Land to Feature More Than Nintendo Themed Mini Games

Posted by Jakester897 on 25 June 2012 - 12:54 PM in Wii U Games and Software

I could see...
  • Third-party DLC available at whatever they call the e-shop. Each mini-game has its own ESRB rating, but the default ones are all rated E.
  • A code of some sort that comes with a retail game you buy, so you can add the mini-game to your collection. For example, buying Assassin's Creed III and punching in a code found on the back of the instruction booklet will add an Assassin's Creed game.
These will be added to your mini-game list, but will not be accessible from the actual park (or, if the developer wants, they can make their own theme park).
