It wasn't because of Dyack. Precursor Games went through a lot of crap when McCulloch was arrested for child porn charges, so that ultimately affected their Kickstarter campaigns that promoted the making of Shadow of the Eternals, as in fans turning liberal and thinking "Wow, I don't want to donate money to a company that had a pedophile on staff." Even though Precursor severed all ties with McCulloch the damage was already done.
This is why you don't see a lot of people wanting another sequel, due to the above fact and Precursor being a relatively uninteresting company to begin with. TBH, when Silicon Knights sued Epic they dug their own grave. They started an unneccessary "war" with them, they paid the price.
