#291695 Nintendo Requests Eternal Darkness TM Extension

Posted by AegisReflector on 27 June 2014 - 08:09 AM in General Gaming

It wasn't because of Dyack. Precursor Games went through a lot of crap when McCulloch was arrested for child porn charges, so that ultimately affected their Kickstarter campaigns that promoted the making of Shadow of the Eternals, as in fans turning liberal and thinking "Wow, I don't want to donate money to a company that had a pedophile on staff." Even though Precursor severed all ties with McCulloch the damage was already done.

This is why you don't see a lot of people wanting another sequel, due to the above fact and Precursor being a relatively uninteresting company to begin with. TBH, when Silicon Knights sued Epic they dug their own grave. They started an unneccessary "war" with them, they paid the price.

#291696 Hyrule Warriors - Zelda Trailer Rewind Theater

Posted by AegisReflector on 27 June 2014 - 08:16 AM in Wii U Games and Software

I'm actually really psyched for this game. I love me some hack 'n slash action and Dynasty Warriors is one of my favorite series!

This is what will make me buy a WiiU eventually. This is what Nintendo needs more of, games that aren't Mario or shovelware or mere ports of games that I can easily get on PS3.

#291697 The official complain about E3 thread

Posted by AegisReflector on 27 June 2014 - 08:29 AM in E3 2014 Archive

I actually was very displeased with Square Enix's choice of not showing any progress on FF15 or Kingdom Hearts 3, besides an all-text scene at the end of 2.5's E3 trailer.

Seriously, you hype up 2 games that people have wanted for more than 7 years now and you don't bother to show some progress when you initially promise that the games are first on your priority scale? Dick move, guys. Dick move.

#291699 The Legend of Korra Book 3 premieres today.

Posted by AegisReflector on 27 June 2014 - 08:32 AM in The Café

Honestly, I think Korra was way overhyped and it's got some serious flaws. For me it doesn't do the Avatar franchise justice.

I stopped watching midway through Book 1 just because I think Korra is a vastly unlikeable character, and when I think a main character is someone I can't stand by, I will have trouble watching the rest of the series. With Aang I felt more lively and free, but Korra is just a sourpuss.

Looks very sexy. Another game that makes me wish a WiiU was in my possession right now.

You been a member 2 years and don't have a Wiiu? Why?

I was more interested in buying a PS3 because at the time Sony offerred more of a library of games towards my liking. I still have a lil' Nintendo flame in my heart but after experiencing the Wii it left me very disappointed.

But with the news of all these new games coming out, I now am totally on board with buying one. It's just a matter of deciding between getting a PS4 or WiiU first.

It would be better if there were actually any character development. IDK if it was just this season since I never watched it, but from the first few episodes I've watched there really wasn't any connection with me towards any of the cast.

#291709 What do you guys think about Iwata?

Posted by AegisReflector on 27 June 2014 - 09:06 AM in Wii U Hardware

Is it just me, or does anybody find that what made Nintendo's previous E3 presentations more tolerable is the fact that the big wigs are very personable and entertaining to watch? Both Iwata and Reggie have distinct personalities and add a distinct touch of awesome whenever Nintendo announces something big. I couldn't tell you who the hell presents at Microsoft's conferences every year, and I don't even know who Sony has anymore besides Kaz Hirai. It says a lot that I know more of Nintendo's structure than the other companies. They have to be doing something right.

With that being said however, I will agree that Iwata is very conservative and traditional when it comes to Nintendo's image, and that ultimately has come back and bit the company on the ass a bit. Because the Wii chose to stick with the whole "family-friendly" gimmick, the WiiU simply isn't selling. It isn't targeting soccer moms who want a family console because the WiiU is now more "hardcore", but then again, it isn't targeting "hardcore" gamers either because the Playstation or Xbox clearly established last gen that it was their label. Yes, a Mario or Zelda game is perfectly fine, but there needs to be more interest in terms of other games. I'm not just talking about making the games. It's all about advertising them to the masses, localizing the ones that fans actually want, and doing some sort of deals that include such games. A few new IPs wouldn't hurt either.

Of course, this isn't all Iwata's doing. People seem to forget that the Board consists more than just a president.

And see, that's why people like Miyamoto who's cool enough to dress up like Link, complete with sword and shield, whenever a huge Zelda game gets announced makes me have hope that Nintendo can still bring out interesting material. Their passion for games definitely reflects their success.

Yeeeeaaahhhh, see, I've learned not to even reply to vapent replies like yours anymore.

Still love them, don't tell me what to do, ya foo'. Just was disappointed that nothing was shown this year.

Yes, "vapid" was the word and I misspelled it. My bad. But it still applies to your post, as it means "offering nothing that is stimulating or challenging."

See, because of the fact that you just flat out insulted one of my favorite developers by telling me to "stop following them" is one of the many not good posts about Square I have seen many times before. It's just shocking that you, a Mod on this site, would say this crap to me. A staff member on a forum being rude to other people's likes by telling them the developer sucks and that I need to move on from them. Why did you even have to say any of that? To instigate a fight? If not, then what good could POSSIBLY come from you criticizing Square in one of the most stupidest comments I've seen?

I blame the state of the public schools and devolution of contemporary game design.

Again, how does A MODERATOR show off as a positive role model to people when they flat out insult members for expressing their opinions? I mean seriously? You made a very rude comment towards people like me liking Square, you don't think I was gonna let that go?

Reporting you and request that you be stripped of your mod powers. This is ridiculous.

Now I understand why I stopped coming here.

Thank you, you've made me disinterested in this cesspool. Congratulations on scaring away a member.

Okay, SERIOUSLY? All I said was that I am a fan of Square Enix. THAT IS MY OPINION. How does me liking Square insult people? Seems like you just can't handle people with differing views as your own.

Is this how moderators get their kicks on here? Bullying people by telling them what they can and can't like, and then insult them by saying they must have had a lack of schooling? Is this really how an efficient community runs?

You can like whatever you like, but bare in mind that I can too. I will always stick by Square despite their shortcomings. For you to just act like an softshell lizard to me for no good reason other than because I like the "current" Square is really immature and it shows just how unlikeable you are.
