#92383 Sony invests in new tech

Posted by KgGamesXL on 07 July 2012 - 12:12 AM in General Gaming

I have my doubts about cloud gaming because it's both good and bad.The good thing is you don't every need to upgrade hardware every again, you cant misplace your games, and don't have to go through the hassle of changing game disks or worry about storage because it's stored right in the sever. Now the bad thing is you don't really own a game because they can take the game off the severs if not that many people use it so you can't come back to the game after a couple months to a year if the game doesn't have a high enough popularity. Also you can't buy used games so if you can't afford full priced games your out of luck, and also allot of people have bandwidth caps and can't go over their limit or risk having to pay extra. Also not everyone has top notch internet speed so that's another problem because the graphics off the game depends on your internet speed so even if you have a good computer monitor or TV it still may not look that good.

#90530 Nintendo Investor Meeting on June 28, 2012

Posted by KgGamesXL on 28 June 2012 - 11:02 AM in Wii U Hardware

I hope they are going to talk about online not just miiverse and Console info such as Storage and Different models if there are going to be any but atleast they will announce price, launch day, and games so I'm happy with that.

#90525 Would you be disappointed if Nintendo Land and NSMB U don't have online p...

Posted by KgGamesXL on 28 June 2012 - 10:47 AM in Wii U Games and Software

I would say yes for both because both are well suited for online play and really you can't go wrong with having extra options but it shouldn't be mandatory to play only online or only Local Multiplayer seeing as many games nowadays offer both.

#89907 The Wii U's Power Problem

Posted by KgGamesXL on 25 June 2012 - 01:50 PM in Wii U Hardware

The fact that people care so much about how powerful Wii U will be is annoying.
Seriously, all anyone cares about nowadays is graphical capability.
Nintendo says that Wii U is capable of HD. That could mean 720p at the very least, which is still pretty good, but apparently "not enough".

The reason people care about the Wii U's power is because Nintendo said they want to appeal to the Hardcore audience and the only way they can do that is by having power so when the Next Xbox and PS4 come out the Wii U will get the same multiplatform games all the others have without a huge noticeable difference and so people won't choose the other consoles over the Wii U because of the huge graphical advantage when it comes to multiplatform games.

Nintendo releasing the specs now will tell the others what Nintendo has inside the Wii U. Nintendo knows the others are in the planning stages and if they know what is in tge Wii U could easily up the ante. If they don't know then they can't.

But Nintendo is not afraid of weak hardware. DS was weak, it won. Wii was weak, it won. 3DD is weaker then Vita, and is currently winning. But with those we NEVER HAD NINTENDO EXECS SAY IT CAN DO HD AND THAT IT IS POWERFUL. It was never promised. We never jad developers praising the power of the Wii, or any DS.

So when unnamed sources are saying stuff they shouldn't be I tend not to believe them. And its not like the 720 recent is saying its some ten to twenty times the power of the 360, but more 4 to 8 times. And the Wii U,, even according to this rumor, is 4 times the power of the 360 (other sources claim higher numbers too). So lets say this rumor is true. That means the 720 is four times the.power (which may only be 2 times according to the leaked Doc) of the Wii U.

Now is that a big difference?

I'm not saying the Wii U has to be Super Powerful all People want is for it to have good third party support down the line when the other consoles come out and from recent rumours it does seem the other consoles are not as powerful as people think but as you said allot of things are in speculation at the moment. Edit: By the way that could be right they could up the power of the other console if they know the Wii U specs but they are likely already more powerful since there coming out next year or the year after that.

#89900 IGN, What is Nintendo up to?

Posted by KgGamesXL on 25 June 2012 - 01:06 PM in General Gaming

I remember someone asking if all games will allow you use the gamepad only to play games and turns out only some games will be able to do this and some won't and it depends on the Devs because games like Zombie U will require you to use two screens. This info comes from the link above from the second video it's the first question answered.

#89890 The Wii U's Power Problem

Posted by KgGamesXL on 25 June 2012 - 12:31 PM in Wii U Hardware

Yeah, I wish they would release them. But we now know they won't before launch, as Scott Moffitt said.

Will then there are only three reasons why they wont announce the specs. 1.The console is Under Powered and they don't what to announce specs because it will cause lower sales because consumer wont see it as a true next gen system and won't get good third party support. Or 2.They are not sure of the final specs yet and don't what to say anything yet or they feel it won't be anywhere near as strong as the Next Xbox or PS4 and don't want to lose sales because of that.Or 3. It's just the Nintendo way and they don't care about specs even if there good and just care about games(I hope it's number 3).

#89881 The Wii U's Power Problem

Posted by KgGamesXL on 25 June 2012 - 11:38 AM in Wii U Hardware

http://nintendoevery...ipad-lots-more/ NE also has some other quotes (mainly Reggie) regarding hardware power.

Seems like we'll be indeed getting a current gen 1.5 like the Wii, but I won't judge until there are some official specs.

I agree with you on the fact of the Wii U's Power as of right now and i also won't Judge until they release official specs but i still can't understand why Nintendo doesn't just tell the general public the specs because it would be easier on everyone to know.

#89842 New Super Mario Bros Wii U Gameplay

Posted by KgGamesXL on 25 June 2012 - 07:15 AM in Wii U Games and Software

I don't really like that you have to shake the Wii U Gamepad. It will break and you can't see anything when shaking it!!

I don't think you have to and im pretty sure it's optional.

#89751 New Super Mario Bros Wii U Gameplay

Posted by KgGamesXL on 24 June 2012 - 02:40 PM in Wii U Games and Software

Nintendo should add a couple wrist straps to that.

They should and i can't wait till launch and i already can see some shaking the gamepad and shakes harder thinking it's not working and the gamepad will fly right into the TV screen.

#89657 MMO Games on the Wii U

Posted by KgGamesXL on 24 June 2012 - 04:10 AM in Wii U Games and Software

touch controls are more accurate if used right as you can directly click on any spot on the screen without having to move a mouse around. think about a touchscreen internet where you can just touch anything on the screen instantly where as with pcs you need to move your mouse to what you want to click on.

look at screen, touch object > look at screen, move mouse to object, click on object.

it's quicker and more accurate.

Do you mean from the Wii U or gaming in general?

#89655 MMO Games on the Wii U

Posted by KgGamesXL on 24 June 2012 - 04:03 AM in Wii U Games and Software

say what? maybe if you're talking about a 70s/80s keyboard lol even then it wouldn't be a usb keyboard so it wouldn't work. plus developing games for a single control/gamepad is much easier then developing them for 3 different controllers(console controller/keyboard/mouse).

now let me ask you why on earth would you rather buy a keyboard and mouse instead of just using a touchscreen? touchscreens IMO are better because it's more accurate then a mouse and won't break like a keyboard plus it won't cost any extra.

What are you talking about the mouse and keyboard are the most accurate controls used in gaming today i would love to see a guy playing an fps on a touchscreen only beating a guy with a keyboard and mouse it just won't happen.I agree with you when you say i would be pretty difficult to create 3 different control schemes for one version of a game. But that's no excuse to say touch screens are more accurate the keyboard and mouse and i know you said in your opinion but still i don't think your statement was correct.

thats not an excuse!! u can buy keybord for 4$ and a mouse for 10$.. Or differently, dont buy this games...

Orion a mouse and keyboard wouldn't cost so cheap imo because big box stores like Best buy if you go there wouldn't be like 10 or 4 dollars it would probably 15-40 dollars for a good one. Now if your talking non big box stores than ya it could cost that cheap. :D

Looks like a fun game but i think the dying mechanic is going to get really annoying after awhile when you get to the later levels in the Game.

#89434 Well that Nintendo Direct was a bit disappointing...

#89433 HD TV?

Posted by KgGamesXL on 22 June 2012 - 01:07 PM in Wii U Hardware

Yes, that's a CRT

CRTs can be HD too, it's pretty small market but it's very well possible.

CRTs don't have pixels, the picture is painted on the screen, very good for both HD and SD. While LCDs have to have agressive processing methods to make a good SD image, my more expensive LED LCD is way better due to the high-quality LCD panel used than the cheal HDTV which has some crap panel from one of the bad samsung OEMs inside that makes SD look like crap.

I had 32" inch CRT TV and played on it with my Xbox 360 and it did look pretty good but when i played on a 1080p 40" LCD TV my family got the games looked at lot better imo but it doesn't really matter at least you can play games on the Wii U. But i guess you won't get the fullest experience out of the Wii U's Graphics if you don't go HD right?

#89418 HD TV?

Posted by KgGamesXL on 22 June 2012 - 10:31 AM in Wii U Hardware

What is SDTV ?

You have your terms mixed up because SDTV is a PR term for 480i-480p signal standard.

720p is "HD Ready"
1080p is "Full HD"

I'm pretty sure he means Standard definition Television 480 i or 480p Which is non HD
