It depends. Sometimes, I pay exactly what my bill is, including tip, sometimes I split half, and sometimes we take turns paying. But uh, there's not exactly any guy to pay so haha. Unless a friend is forcing me out the house, in which case I make them pay for my presence. xD

Even if this rumor states that there's no fee for used games, it still says that trying to play the game on a second console disables the authentication on the original console. That still means that friends can't try games without screwing the original owner over; basically the same thing.
To be fair, normally lending a game to a friend means you can't play it until they return it, right? I don't really mind them doing what emulates physical copies.

Never had a Microsoft console and this reveal didn't tempt me over even with some of the cool stuff such as the speed of switching programs. No real opinion on it besides the console looking very ugly. Half of it seems to be grated, perhaps for airflow, so I can't really fault it for the aesthetics if it's for function. Eh, it'll probably sell well if it's priced low. I've always assumed the 360 did well because the PS3 was expensive, so I really don't know what to expect if it's priced to make a profit. Neither look like "budget hardcore shooter" consoles.

Wouldn't be bargains if it's the normal priceAnd people wonder why prices are naturally so damn high. There just can't be good bargains everywhere all the time or the worst of people will be unleashed.

Rambling conjecture:
Okay never took business classes so this is all based on hindsight.
Renamed it to Wii 2, anything that makes it obvious that it's the next Wii console. We need to keep Wii in the name for the small amount of casuals that would bother upgrading.
Make it more obvious the gamepad isn't an add-on, and why it's interesting. Keep the release the same to take advantage of the year without competition, but force Pikmin 3 out earlier by cannibalizing development of games that wouldn't come out for a while anyways.
I'd say Pikmin 3 is more likely to sell consoles than G&W, and pushing back Wind Waker is no big deal, it's not revealed yet, and is a port with minimal new features anyways. Having it release in November or December instead of October should have similar results. Delay Game and Wario to make it more of a WarioWare game or at least have more content to make it more appealing. With the early sales of Wii Us hopefully slightly better, maybe third party support would be slightly less horrible? ... Probably not.
Advertise it way more during the holiday system. Brag that it's the gonna be the first next gen console, try to explain more clearly why the gamepad is interesting. Just have clearer advertisements than... weird cube parties. Nintendo's relying too much on their brand name, and it's not enough to sell the numbers they want anymore. Heck, advertise it all year round if data shows word of mouth isn't doing anything. Kids (and adults) have birthdays, if they know it exists they may just want it.
I'd say to show 3DS less love and the Wii U more love cause it can live on just Pokemon (especially with Dream Team) alone, at least for 2014 but realistically 3DS and Wii U teams are probably composed of entirely different people... If it's possible, instead of Mario and DK Minis and NSMB2, just focus on existing games U games to get them finished earlier. ![]()
Oh and... Why are they making Smash on 3DS? Seems to cannibalize sales... Unless they have some fancy plan I would've made it Wii 2 exclusive.
Honestly... I think Nintendo just wants the Wii U to sell on word of mouth and brand recognition. Look at them talking about their 4mil from the Miiverse games that they put almost no effort in acknowledging it exists.

I wouldn't buy it just to have it unless... Perhaps it came in an awesome color, or I wanted more controllers for multiplayer. Which probably won't happen as I have the gamepad, pro, and a couple of wiimotes and nunchucks, along with a classic controller if necessary.

Nope. Even for artists, you can just zoom in. Text could be fixed with settings... The Gamepad right now is already borderline with its weight. Lighter than it looks, but you kinda notice the weight if you play all day...

Did pretty poorly myself, but I suck at action games.
Couldn't figure out how to do anything beyond the basic B+A and having multiple unite morphs out at once. And I don't mean the drawing and controls, that stuff was fine. I looked at the options before playing the demo, and it listed the controls. I'm questioning reviews where people somehow had trouble drawing the symbols... Though I admit it was a little picky with the right angle morph, the circle and straight lines worked perfectly. I liked it, considering purchasing. It has a nice aesthetic too.

Looks like there is something special in Platinum games only their fans could understand and, guess what - they're not that many. It's not the company having a curse, it is it just sucking pretty hard.
Just kidding, don't overreact again. But they shouldn't have published such an elaborate game to the mass public because they aren't nearly as many Platinum Games fans owning a Wii U as the company needs to sell the game successfully. It may be a great game but judging by the comments it's complexity is putting people off. We don't live in the '90s anymore when you had to use your brain to beat a game, nowadays people are too lazy to play a game like the W101 the way it is meant to be played.
Honestly... I don't think it's overly complicated in a hard to play way. And I'm saying it as someone who scored very poorly by the end of the demo lol. The only flaw of the demo was dropping you right into the action, with the only obvious help for noobs being short on screen hints, no time to practice one feature at a time, with other help being relatively hidden. (visited the menu several times and didn't even realize that there were gems to cheat your way out)
I'm sure the actual game will be easier and less chaotic from the start. So... I think this game can easily have mass appeal in a sort of "easy to learn hard to master" sort of way, even if that means a lot of people who enjoyed the game ends up with bronze trophies or lower lol. This seems to be similar to the whole Monster Hunter demo problem. It was more a demo for previous fans than people looking to get into the series. They did over power you, but you were sorta on your own to figure it all out.

I can always borrow the game from my brother. I suppose it depends on if Nintendo gives me a reason to. I have no problems at all with playing older games. Maybe if I find that the sailing really is THAT slow I'll consider.

What does the stand have to do with it? It can stand without one... I'm confused lol. Never heard of this.Actually, Nintendo revised the Wii twice, first without that bulky Silver stand, and the next without Gamecube ports, because the latest versions don't come with Gamecube controller ports. Google it if you don't believe me. Nintendo made them like the last year into selling the Wii, because they knew they were concentrating on the Wii U.

I decided to return and exchange it from my place of purchase. ... Now I'm in the process of having my Nintendo Network Account transfered to my new console by a Nintendo Administrator.

I've never used those honestly. Never found the need to. Can't you just reinstall the original stuff to completely unmod though, if you really are that worried? Did you make a NAND backup? But what happened to Priiloader and Wiiflow? Did they delete too?

I think you should just google how to uninstall Priiloader and stuff if you're that worried.I already deleted HBC and BootMii. When I made the backup every bit of modding software was still on my Wii, so I think it might have been copied into the NAND backup.

Um. I think you would have to reinstall Bootmii to use your NAND backup. If you did it like how I did, then your NAND should be clean except for BootMii and the HBC. If that's the case, then you can have an unmodded wii after doing the nand backup, then uninstalling bootmii and HBC. I would look to see how to simply uninstall Priiloader and Wiiflow, since it sounds like the most direct route...My backup files are nand.bin, keys.bin and a Bootmii file. Bootmii is already off my Wii so, how would I install my backup if I needed to???
Edit: Actually, now that I think about. You may want to leave BootMii on your Wii when you do the update, so that if it bricks you can apply the NAND backup.
Edit 2: Just remembered that it might only work if you install BootMii as Boot2.
