In some old ones I think they had a few.Yeah, I love both versions, but I like 2D slightly better.
Just the original ones would be too dull. (Only Fire Flower.)
Maybe take off where the last Super Mario Bros. (3, New SMB, or a something totally new.) took place along with a few new powers.
I'm assuming that It'll take off where New Super Mario Bros. left off and add (maybe powers, refinement, etc.) to that.

Power-ups never hurt as well.

That'll probably happen. I'm kind of looking forward to that and getting a 3DS now.Yeah, add all the power ups from New Super Mario Bros. and add some new ones also.
It'll be awhile for me though. (Buying Wii U)

I'm excited about it because it seems like another big title and a glimpse of the next generation's Mario game.
Also, it seems like the classic ones, which I like. (Sidescrolling Only)

The portables are capable of being phones.
The Vita has a messaging, party chat, Skype (I think it's possible.), and several social networking features, so I see this being possible without a problem pretty soon.
Don't hold me accountable for my words, but I believe so.
I can appreciate a pure gaming portable though, as many prefer that.

The PS Vita already has the option of using a 3G network.
I don't see why they couldn't make plans (like a phone) and add calling and texting to future handhelds.
Hopefully, people will do all of their calling, messaging, etc. through programs like Skype and Facebook in the future anyways.
(The PS Vita can run those programs.)
Also, it seems like a longshot at the moment but if all of those features could be put into one program with live updates to your device, any mobile device with internet access could be using a universal messaging and calling system.

Nintendo has another chance to lead the way in something revolutionary in the console world once again.
I know there are probably a few exceptions and all, but they can be the first of the three console companies to really dwell into the MMO area of console gaming.
That'd probably lure some customers into buying a Wii U.
It also adds lots of new opportunities for those working with Nintendo.
I'd really consider doing so.

^what joshua said, im sure all majore EA games, or all EA games in total will be on the wii u this autumn/winter. im pretty sure EA has a partnership that makes them have to put all key franchises on the wii u.

I hear this game is creepy as, without even trying.
It definitely has a strange vibe to it, although I think a lot of the creepy occurences were removed from the PS Store's version of the game.

It'd only be like Modnation Racers tracks. (Basically.)
I can kinda see create-a-kart working.
That or more customization.
