I plan to sell my 360 with a ton of games and 3 controllers and put the money towards the wii u maybe a week or 2 before the system comes out. Is anyone else planning on doing something like this?

Correction: 720p But I think it will be same-y, but harder. Music will just be added instruments, and items won't be too different.

yea im confused with this. Are the launch games in 720P? or whats the deal? Why is this not 1080P? I must have missed it and been living under a rock

i have already convinced many friends that are normal and not one sided of course lol.

its more powerful, it has nintendo games with most to all of ird party support, it will be just as powerful or even more powerful than the new xbox, the laucnh games have built in dlc that only will be released for wii u so its saving your money along the way, the touchscreen controller does so many new things its awesome.

btw the employee said its a 360 or ps3 with a new controller? LOL WHHHHHAAAAAT? lol

haha yea the guy was a real dink. He was so rude and basically threw the system under the bus. He just said the system is nintendos version of an hd system that's years behind with a tablet as a controller. He was pissing me off. :angry:

So, with the new 3DS Mario game coming out, I keep hearing lots of people complain about the game feeling and looking and sounding just like the other one created a few years back. Does anyone think they would do that with new super Mario brothers u? I know it will look MUCH more crisp in 1080P but, the music and the level screens, I hope they are different and this game has an original feel to it.

no we will get ports resembling games from the new systems, costs more to downgrade, costs more to upgrade too. that's why they usually look the same on all consoles

Thats what I figured but I just was not sure cause what if those 2 systems are a few steps ahead of the wii u? I just doubt 3rd party developers would create a game for ps4/720 and then one special for wii u. Who knows! We still have a little ways till that happens

I have started a few topics today; I am pretty bored and find myself just searching the web for WII U news like 20 times a day. So, Why not post some stuff. So, 2 weeks ago I went to GameStop with a buddy and saw all the WII U stuff and he had NO clue what this even was. I explained it and the sales guy did to. I went back with another buddy a few days later and another guy working basically told my friend this system is simply Nintendo’s version of the 360/ps3 with a tablet. I was not happy with that. Most of my friends don’t know much about this system and all they hear about is how the graphics are “on par” with what we see today. Not something that regular gamers really want to hear. If you were trying to sell this product to your friend and explain why this system will kicks ass, what would you say?? What makes this system the future and a MUST buy?

Well, Lets see. I just got like 4 grand back from my grants for school so I have some extra money to play along with this semester. So here is what I plan to get:

.Wii u system- I still cant decide black or white. Black might look a little better but white might seem more clean AND different from my 360 and direct TV box

. 1 extra controller- I want to show my friends how cool this system really is. I have not decided if it will be the pro controller or another game pad.

. New super Mario Brothers U- I love Mario. I just turned 24 and I still love playing any Mario game. AND finally in HD!? I am excited

. Block ops 2- I love zombie mode and since this will be my new system I use, I deff want Call of duty

. Madden 13- I love NFL and I cant wait for Madden next week but, I will end up getting it on the Wii U as well ( Even though they are taking stuff out

)

. Finally, maybe a game to show off what this controller is all about...I have not decided.

First, I am pumped for the announcement coming up. I was not happy with E3 but, after a few months, I have started to gain interest again with the Wii U. I started thinking about something today. We know right now, many 3^rd party games will be ports. So, they will be like the ps3 and 360 versions except with a little added bonus. It’s just how most will be for right now. Now, let’s say we get the 720 or ps4 or even both next year. Are we going to get a port that resembles a game for those systems or are we going to get ports of games that will still resemble the 360 and ps3 version? I am not trying to question the power of the system; I am questioning how 3^rd parties are going to do this? I just don’t want the Wii u to fall behind with 3^rd party games.

Well, I will give this a try :

November 18th release date

Price will be 299.99$

Will be available in black or white

Black ops 2 WILL be announced during this conference thing and Reggie will try and show once again that this system is for everyone. This will be a big part of this whole thing.

Pre orders will begin

There will be no special bundles upon release. You either get black or white and it simply comes with the system, hook ups and 1 game pad

Wii U game pads will cost 99.99 if you want to buy another one.

A special game will be included with the system like wii sports but it will NOT be Nintendo land. I bet they think they can make some bucks off that.

Nintendo network is free

Nothing much will be said about the pro controller but I see it at retail for 49.99 just like 360 and ps3 controllers.

I expect a full launch line up. We still don't know the exact games that will be out day 1 but I think we will after this.

there may be a very good chance more will be revealed, through a nintendo direct streaming or a meeting.

in other news, i feel like we need another wiiu info recap to remove confusion, ill get some nice post with everything we know by the 31'st

Really ?? no evidence? Have you not seen ANY of the screen shots or gameplay of any games being released on the wii u? I dont think anyone needs to come out and say that. Most games will just be ports of the ps3/360 version. Plus, when you have nintendo saying over and over again that their main focus is gameplay and not "whats inside the system" I think it says it all. If it had more power...dont you think they would have advertised that as a sellng point by now?

So, I was just at my local GameStop (Syracuse NY) and they had all the WII U stuff up and I started talking to all the guys that work there about the system and they were excited for it. They all seemed to think that this system will FLY off the shelves ASAP and will be just like the WII all over again. I brought up how the system is cool but won’t a lot of people see that the graphics are on par with ps3 and 360 and people won’t want to spend the money? They all said that all the people who shop there are not only ready for something new but, everyone loves the idea of playing not only your favorite Nintendo titles but now you can play ALL the games you like on one system. He also said that he has heard many times that the new Xbox and ps4 could have price tags from 500-700 bucks when they release next year so, more people will want the WII U instead because of price. The guys there plan to get 3 systems. Keep 1 and sell 2 on EBay because they will be sold out for a while.

Another thing they told me was that Nintendo is very hard to deal with. I guess they don’t ever tell companies when to take pre orders on stuff until like 3 days before hand. He also thought that the US system might be pushed back to December as well. Thought I would pass some of this information along.

This looks quite good actually. And this was a launch game.

Yea..madden 06 had great graphics. I bought that the year it came out and call of duty and it was WAY better in graphics than xbox. I was not expecting to be blown away by graphics...I was expecting more by 3rd party titles and not just ubisoft.

The rest of e3 was pretty bad. I thought sony just went from bad to worse. It was honestly boring and nothing great. They really didn't even need a conference to announce their garbage and while Microsoft was not as bad I still thought it was pretty bland. Nothing big. Nothing special. And your right they are not doomed haha. People will buy into wii u but I am just pretty letdown. After a year of reading up on stuff daily and hoping for something great I got a crap fest. I'm hoping the months leading up to launch will be better! By the way I do like the new controller and I like te online they have going on with miiverse. It looks promising.

So, I have been reading around and I think most people were not really happy with the turnout at E3. I am not a Nintendo guy. I have a 360. I am the type of person who likes shooters and sports games and power but, I was very excited about the WII U for the past year. I love the concept and who does not like a new system!? I have had a wii before simply to play Mario and some donkey Kong but that’s about it. I used to love the N64 and SNES so; I have had my share of fun with Nintendo in the past. Coming from someone who is not a diehard Nintendo guy, this is a bad start for them. Half of the 3rd party games look like they are either ment for kids or just some half ass game thrown together to use the new controller. Nintendo needed more time at E3. And what in god’s name was Nintendo land!? Really? Did they really need to spend a ton of time talking up a game that looks like its ment for a 12 year old? How do you end E3 on that? Where are all the big 3rd party franchises? Games like far cry? Or I don’t know... ANY EA sports games? How can you not talk about NHL or Madden or Fifa. Tons of people say these games are coming out for wii u but it’s not on that site with the list of launch titles. These games will all be released from august to October on 360 and ps3 so if Nintendo is planning on having these games on their system, how can you not mention it or have it released by xmas>? This system was supposed to appeal to casual gamers. What I saw today were games ment for kids or games that I could play on my 360 with the same graphics. And where is call of duty? I don’t care if you hate this game...How can you not release that game on this system? This just shows that Nintendo is not getting the picture. It’s not on that list of launch titles and again, if they plan on releasing it down the road why would I ever buy it on wii u when I can have the same game on my 360? To me, Nintendo is really not doing a great job. A year from now ps4 and 720 will be coming out and they will be steps ahead of Nintendo again. Nintendo should be getting MOST if not all games that are coming out for ps3 and 360 and having them released on the WII U. Some might say it’s unrealistic but in reality, it shouldn’t be. I am not saying it needs 75 games at launch but, this is not an impressive start

And I understand there are people on here who will strictly buy this because they love Nintendo and their 1st party titles and that’s awesome. I get that. But speaking from another audience of gamers........today was NOT the right step.

I want to see the WII U in action. I need to see that its not just a gimmick. I also want to see the graphics. I would like to see some 3rd party games running on the system so I can really see the power and what its like compared to what we have today. I want to see different functions of the controller and I would love to see some sports games on here and see how good it is. Then last, some fun 1st party titles. Mario and everything else

12pm for me. Too bad I work 8-4:30 Monday-Friday. Maybe I can somehow find a way to have a doctor's appointment that day or something lol. If it shows on television I will PVR it but I think it only get's streamed.

G4 shows each conference live. I taped them all last year and it was awesome
