I am new to the forums and have been very excited for the wii U since last June but, I am a little worried. I play lots of sports games and every game ever released on the PS3 and 360 are the same thing. Obv EA just uses the same port and releases it on each system making them not different at all. Same goes for Call of Duty and basically any game that is on both systems. Does anyone here think most game makers will simply just take the 360/ps3 version of a game and throw it on the WII U and maybe add a little bit with the new controller? Or is there a chance they could release a different version of these games with enhanced graphics and other stuff for the WII U?

I am Patrick and I am new here. New back to the whole Nintendo world really. I grew up loving the super Nintendo and the N64 but then jumped to the dark side. Xbox was cool but, since the announcement of the WII U, i have been excited. Waiting a year but well worth it. A system that can not only play HI DEF Madden and have mario is perfect for me!

Yea I just hope they at least do something a little different ya know? I love my mario and donkey kong games but, I hope the other games are at least enhanced or better than the 360/ps3 version. I need to show my friends up! haha :ph34r:

I like most people want to see some sort of new Mario game at launch and if its 2d..I hope a new 3D mario is released very very quick after. I lso hope COD is on there simply because it sells. The Wiiu needs this game to grab the attention of people who swear by ps3 and xbox. Also, Mdden. I hope madden 13 will be a launch title along with a few other sports games.

I dont know about any of you but, all my friends love ps3 and 360 and graphics have a lot to do with it. I admit game play is very important but if the Wii U wants to really grab that "hardcore" gamer then they need to step it up with the graphics. Mario and donkey kong and those games will be fine but any shooter or sports games, the graphics need to now only be better than the 360 and ps3 but they need to be on par with the next generation. I couldnt belive how awful madden and COD looked on the wii and I had to hear so many people laugh at the ps2 like graphics. Nintendo has a chance to get a real lead into the next gen war and they got to step it up! I mean...i know tons of people who would never drop 300 bucks on a new system that pretty much looks the same as the 360/ps3. I love nintendo and I have always wanted an HD machine that I can not only enjoy my Mario and zelda but also my sports and shooters.....I just hope this is it!!! Please Nintendo, go above and beyond and show those hardcore gamers that nintendo owns sony and microsoft.

I agree to the dreamcast thing. I would deff be ok with that. I member dreamcast came out and I just thought it was so cool. The graphics blew the n64 and ps1 out of the water. I would be happy with that

What are you talking about? When I say "hardcore gamer" I am talking about people who LOVE graphics and play stricly games like COD and Gears and would never touch a Mario gameor a nintendo 1st party game. I want this system to have it all for everyone. It will have the great nintendo games from Mario to SSB to Zelda and it will also have Ghost Recon and COD and it will look good to. Come on, the graphics on the Wii were terrible for any games aside from nintendo 1st party titles. Anyone can sit here and say" I dont care about graphics" and thats fine but when you play MLB 2k11 or COD on there it looks like a game made in 2003. I just dont want people playing these games 2 years from now in 2014 and say wow..these games look like 2007. This is the one key thing Nintendo lacked. They have a chance to fix it

I dont know about anyone else but I play madden ALL the time and I am a huge football fan. I know EA is on board with the Wii U and I have read madden 13 is coming out for the wii but I cant find anything about the Wii U yet. Maybe they are waiting for E3 to show what it could do? I really hope some sports games come to the Wii U this fall. Anyone else agree?

Yea I was thinking like you could draw up your plays on the controlle so the person your playing cant see which would be great because I know my friends cheat and watch me pick plays and like someone said....you could get different views and stuff. Man, E3 can not come soon enought

I love madden too I play madden 12 alot although I get fps drop and lag online which sucks alot any way I can't wait to see how they implament the tablet.

Me to. I love madden and I dont even care if it is a port. I plan on selling my modded 360 anyways around september to throw some extra cash towards the wii u so, I will be needing madden for my new toy!

MADDEN SUCKS.

The animation is terrible and the graphics are meh. They hadn't had a good game since 07. The physics are SUPER unrealistic and it's not fluid at all.

EA sports NFL monopoly contract will end in 2013, correct me if I'm wrong. Then 2k will have rights and run Madden down just like the beat EA Sports in basketbal

Please........I cant stand when people compare 2k5 to any madden game. You cant. Madden blows it out of the water. 2K sucks at making sports games. MLB blows and NBA is getting worse. I wish EA would just buy them out so we can get MVP Basbeball back. Madden 12 is 100 times better than a game that came out in 2004. And 2K will never run down madden...the name madden sells and always will. Look at all pro football..garbage. It was sad..the game looked like a game from 2004.

I am just wondering everyone’s opinion. I love the new touch screen controller and think it will be great and I understand allowing the original Wii remote being able to work on the Wii U. That’s all good but, do you think Nintendo should create some sort of "normal" like controller for the Wii U as well? For me, I don’t want to use a controller from an old system on my new system playing new games. Plus, there will be people who won’t like the new touch screen controller so maybe they should release some sort of regular controller so then EVERYONE can enjoy the new system and won’t have to make excuses that they don’t like the new touch screen and don’t want to use the old Wii Remote. What’s everyone think?

They didn't try on pro football because stupid EA Sports monopolized the NFL. NFL 2k5 beats the crap out of madden. Madden has crap physics ,imagine the 2k13 graphics today it will look as good as NBA 2k12. And 2k's NBA beat the carp out of Elite.
But, I agree with you about MVP that is better than 2k baseball. They should trade NFL and MLB rights.

So why do you think Madden is better. Because NFL 2k5 was better in all ways. It took them 7 years to get on par with 2k.

haha a fan boy? nah. Look..I just don’t like 2k sports. And nba 2k graphics are nothing special...A lot of players don’t look good at all and lots of glitches. Maddens graphics are pretty legit. As far as why I like madden better, well for starters I don’t like 2ks presentation in any of their games...it looks cartoonish and something that was made 8 years ago. I am taking about everything outside of the game play like the screens you seen when you put the game in. Whenever I throw in NBA or NHL I feel like I’m looking at something released years ago. Online is pretty bad on 2k still. I know madden could use improvement but 2k is bad. Tapping A for speed burst? Awful. It’s annoying. I hate it. I don’t like how the game play feels in 2k and to me it will always be that "other" football game that is not on the same level as madden. Just my opinion. I know lots of people agree with you to. But yes, MVP was awesome.

By the way I see I misspelled madden in the title of the post. Sorry! I am smooth haha

So, I know most people do not really care about this game but, I like black ops because of Zombies and I really feel it would be cool with new controller. Being able to see zombies coming from behind and other cool things but, I have read different reports that it might not be coming to the Wii U. This is a game that will make this system seem legit to casual gamers and has to be here.

“We understand that Activision has no plans to support Wii U, which means the biggest selling title of Call of Duty will be missing,” says Gibson.

I really hope this is wrong and it comes to the U!

What I really want is:

1. More footage of the controller and some new things that have been added to it and how its used with games.
2. Information on the system itself. I don’t expect specs But, I want to hear more than just "1080P"
3. Mario. I want a Mario at launch. This will sell!
4. LOTS of 3rd party support
5. Price and release date
6. I would like to hear from 3rd party developers on how they like working with the wii U and I want to hear them say how it’s better than 360/ps3

I am pretty sure you can pre-order the Wii U at GameStop. You are required to put down $20 down on it if you want to do this.

I am referring to GameStops in the US. Just wanted to clear that up.

Also, one more thing, you really should be more specific in the starting post of this thread. You didn't mention what system you even want to pre-order. (But this isn't that big of a deal, just look at the name o the forums and you will find out what system that post is referring to.)

Sorry, haha I figured it was a given cause it was in the Wii U forums. But I understand!
