They need to go ahead and announce NA dates. I want to know when I can get my hands on this.
Im guessing (hoping) a few months after the JP release in April.

Don't have time to search for it, it may not have been "official" or it was added too. The pdf is in the previous link but the supported titles seem fishy. The actual specs themselves though seem pretty accurate. Xenoblade wouldn't just need a faster CPU but RAM too, same would go for the OS as a whole is much faster from downloads to Miiverse etc.
Im pretty sure it is a doubling of the fcram, a cpu clock increase, and increase in the vram (should help 3d mode framerates considerably), though I dont think the ram increase was too much of a factor in xenoblades specific case considering the og 3ds has 128Mb fcram to wii's 86Mb total combined ram. I think Xenoblade is mostly a case of cpu bottlenecking. Too many draw calls, simultaneous ai scripts all doing their daily routine, executables like the weather routines that had to be selected and run to start weather changes, and the ai scripts that coincided.
Coupled with either a better battery, or a die shrink, or both to mitigate and even improve battery life despite the beefier cpu.

THIS is what Re re re re re re remake could have looked like, if capcom thought the non mobile gamers who made them what they are (were?) were worth anything more than crapping in their hands and smearing it across their faces.
But no. This is what capcom thinks you are worth:

No, seriously. There IS no hd remake.
Its just a port, of a gamecube game. Yes, THAT gamecube game.
No, it is not 3d. No, it is not re rendered background images, no, it is not the gamecube scenes re rendered for hd pre rendered back grounds.
Its the gamecubes 480x640 backgrounds, horribly, HORRIBLY upscaled to 1080x1920, and then zoomed in FURTHER to fake a 16x9 aspect ratio.
It looks like rainbow. REmake in dolphin blows it out of the water.
Oh, and 30fps.
Damn Capcom. Damn.

So now gamers are attacking reviews for not being positive enough? Jesus christ.
almost like theyve formed an entire hate movement around that concept something.
Metacritics not the only source of the problem, but its a huge part it, and it is the trigger for these unproportianately extreme responses. Its a cancer that has got to go.
I mean, its not like the guy even got anything hugely objectively wrong gameplay wise (looks at w101 reviews)
He was dissapointed with the lack of 'new', mainly reffering to not having a 'story' mode like sub space emmissary, something that i recall a great deal of people being upset about when it was announced, meaning this review would be a useful service to them.
It wasnt a great review, there several things he mentioned but never explained. He typoed online multiplayer instead of local.
But its not a great enough offense to warrant those responses. He really likes the adventure/sub space emmissary mode, it was removed, he dropped the score from 9 to 8. Its not like he raped a plush doll of Sonic the hedgehog or anything.

Loz: Windwaker
Great Zelda game. But one ive played many many times before. If you havent played it, its new to you! Remastered for HD with most tedious and irritating problems adressed. 10-15 hour game.
Pikmin 3
Great game, longer than pikmin, shorter than pikmin 2. Has challenge mode with high quality dlc levels. 20 hour game.
Wonderful 101
Esoteric. If you cant learn how to play high skill demand gameplay, to the point that you conciously and organically create your own combos and plan them on the fly, and in advance, while being able to respond to enemy attacks and switch plans on the fly... You will falsely find the game a frusterating, shallow, and unresponsive experience. If however, you can, you are in for dozens upon dozens upon dozens of hours of brain orgasms, across massive, MASSIVE amounts of content, in campaign and mission mode, tons of secrets, exploration, challenges, and incredible replayability, as the gameplay is fluid in dynamic, and no two fights ever need be the same. And on top of it all, is Platinums mind blowing presentation. 50-70 hour game+ Replayability for sheer joy of using the games mechanics to fight stuff.
Monster hunter ultimate: Also Esoteric. Similar explanation as w101, but less sheer volume of crazy moves to master... But level of skill demanded is still pretty consistant If, however, you are able to break the entry barrier, and begin to fundamentally gain an understanding of the game mechanics, you are in for hundreds upon hundreds of hours of action packed brain orgies, and immense feelings of comraderie and accomplishment. 100+ hour game+ Replaybilty just for the sheer joy of the hunt and teamwork.
All of these games are more than worth owning. More so than any other game on the list, and is literally a steal for free.

So the resolution of the 3DS looks better with 3D on or what?
The main reason I want the small 3DS more is due to the fact that games will visually look better on it than the XL due to the pixel density... you're the one that made me upsess over this lol XD
And well, they made it a bit bigger than the old 3DS in terms of screen sizes and stuff so that's fun too
Yes, the pixel density IS higher on the og 3ds, they are the same resolution screens, the OG 3ds and new 3ds, simply has smaller pixels, which raies the ppi, and makes the image look much cleaner, at the tradeoff of having a smaller screen.
However, both the 3ds and the 3dsxl DO get increases in effective resolution with the switch to 3d. Its because of the way the 3d works.
In 3d, the 3ds displays two images simultaneously, from slightly different angles, one for the left eye, and one for the right eye, and then sends one image to each eye, creating a 3d image.
well, the two images are interlaced with each other, so every even vertical line of pixels is for the right eye, and every odd line of vertical pixels is for the left eye.
When the game switches to 2d, it only uses ONE of those images, but that image by itself will only fill half the 3ds screen, so to fix that, the system simply doubles each vertical line of pixels, So when you are in 2d mode, you only see half of the image data you would see when in 3d mode. This is most easily identifiable by noticing you cant see as far to the left and the right in 2d as you could in 3d, for example, a crate you would be able to see at the far left of the screen in 3d, would be just off screen in 2d. The textures also lose definition in 2d mode, as you see a slightly different part of the texture with your left eye than you do your right eye, and putting them together gives you the whole texture, in 2d mode, you lose half of that visual information, and have it replaced by simply duplicating pixels.
EX: if a pixel is green, like say its from a grass texture, in 2d it simply copies that pixel, so the pixel to the right of it is made the exact shade of green, however, if the game was in 3d, that pixel would be for the other eye, and would be on a part of that grass texture that was shaded, and would be a darker shade of green, giving a better looking texture in 3d, than you would have in 2d.

I think the higher resolution screen is made up flim flam. If it were true though, I wouldnt feel so miffed about having to get an XL.
I do find the face tracking sweet spot matching tech fascinating though. What an absolutely wonderful and necessary breakthrough. I love the 3d effect, but having to stay within the sweet spot, or get headache inducing double vision is a pain. This makes using 3d a joy!
Although the screen resolution is the same, for players who can finally enjoy using the 3d, they may quickly find games suddenly look much better. Thats because 3ds games in 3d have twice as much image data as when in 2d mode. When your eyes put the two images together to form a single 3d image, you get an effectively higher resolution than you get in 2d mode, which just doubles neighbor pixels, basically, it picks one of the two 3ds images, and doubles the pixels to fill the screen. (effectively making a single double sized pixel) instead of rendering in 240X800.
Probably the first things they will notice when playing in 3d is how much more they can see on the sides, and how much better the textures look, this is because they are no longer losing out on half of the image data.
Its also why 2d 3ds screen shots look horrible.

When you say "he" who are you referring to?
Why would it be a problem that small characters aren't in the Wii U version?
The wii u runs at a higher resolution, with mote screen space, so you can actually have tje characters larger (camera more zoomed in) AND still see more of the screen/level.
Theres really nothing you can do about it on 3ds, because of screen size and resolution, but still a valid point considering not everyone will want to buy both and there is another option available.

What I was meant to imply was they named there games simply because they looked like an x and y. No real meaning to it. The rest of the series are just colours of the legendarys (excluding Red and Blue. which were names of the protagonist and rival) so Alpha and Omega isn't really a big deal.
Yeah, I agree with your posit.
The design decision behind the legendaries of X and Y was absolutely to make them look like an X and a Y respectively. Also the coloring of the letters also matched the respective legendaries. What manner of meaning beyond that were you all expecting?
We know Alpha and Omega is beginning and end.
I am not familiar with the pokemon games in general, let alone this specific one that is being remade to tell if that has any relevance. Do we use pokemon to destroy the world? I may be interested in getting this title now...

To me changing the main character of such a series is a big change.
Changing the gender less so but an actual main character change is massive imo
(Edit) looking back the way I phrased my first post made it seem like I had more of a problem with female link. That's not the case it's 4am and I'm tired so that's my excuse.
No, changing the main character is an irrelevent cosmetic detail. Games arent defined by game characters (unless they are marketing vehicles for crappy overhyped games) Game characters are defined by their games.
Changing the game into a level based shooter consisting of linear corridors with cutscenes every 20 ft is a massive change.
Besides, shes not the main character. Shes just not link. Remember that nintendo direct where anouma talked about things they wanted to shake up for zelda? The solitary single player only experience was on the list of things to change? Thats probably second player.
What does the gamepad player in zelda adventure use?

Xenoblades story is considerably deeper in that regaurd than either gears or. Well, gears, Saga fell flat on its face on that end, going for melodrama out the wazoo instead, but leaving the philosophy incredibly shallow.I'm imaging from what I know of Gears/Saga that it will go a lot more into the themes of religion and such. From what I know(Haven't played either game/Trilogy yet) the Xeno games prior Xenoblade were basically a philosophical guide on religion. In Comparison, Xenoblade's big themes feel like..baby content. Feel free to correct me, Ryudo, as I know nothing.
Xenogears, and to a lesser extent, saga, was a pretty straight forward and surface level use of Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche's philosophy works, hampered by the fact the game had to be translated, xenogears was only half finished, and saga was... Well, Namco bandai.
Xenoblade is based on several different philosophies, from actual old time philosophies, to theoretical metaphysics of the 16-17th century, to modern day computer functional programming, and of course, religion that all actually used the same word in a similar context: The monad.
The main basis was Gottfried Leibniz’s most famous work, 'The Monadology'. Ill just give a breif overview of relevent bits that will be familiar to players of Xenoblade:
Every element in existence is made up of a single substance, the simplest substance that can not be broken down any more. This single unit, is known as the monad. In Xenoblade its ether. Different arrangements of the monad within space comprise different elements.
He attempted to bring together the clashing ideals of Teleology, Mechanism philosophy. As youve likely already guessed, when you go to the wiki pages you will basically be looking at the philosophical versions of the bionis and the mechonis.
Philosophically, The Monadology arrived at several conclusions, that play heavy themes in Xenoblades story.
1. Idealism, since it denies things in themselves (besides monads) and multiplies them in different points of view. Monads are “perpetual living mirrors of the universe.” - You may be hearing faint echoes of several lines of dialouge after reading this, its ok, its normal.... I think.
2. Metaphysical optimism, through the principle of sufficient reason, developed as follows:
a) Everything exists according to a reason (by the axiom "Nothing arises from nothing");
c) Everything which exists is better than anything non-existent (by the first point: since it is more rational, it also has more reality), and, consequently, it is the best possible being in the best of all possible worlds (by the axiom: "That which contains more reality is better than that which contains less reality"). -Cue about a bazillion lines from Xenoblade that are now popping into your head.
But wait, theres more. Xenoblade also incorporates modern usage of the Monad, its use in functional programming.
'In functional programming, a monad is a structure that represents computations defined as sequences of steps: a type with a monad structure defines what it means to chain operations, or nest functions of that type together. This allows the programmer to build pipelines that process data in steps, in which each action is decorated with additional processing rules provided by the monad.[1] As such, monads have been described as "programmable semicolons"; a semicolon is the operator used to chain together individual statements in many imperative programming languages,[1] thus the expression implies that extra code will be executed between the statements in the pipeline. Monads have also been explained with a physical metaphor as assembly lines, where a conveyor belt transports data between functional units that transform it one step at a time.[2] They can also be seen as a functional design pattern to build generic types.[3]'
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monad_(functional_programming)
Basically, its the computer programming version of the concept of ether (The monad in greek philosophy/Leibniz's monadology)...
The Monado wasnt a sword, it was in I/O interface with the AI that could control the placement of, well, ether 'atoms' if you will. A spot in space with an ether atom was a 1, a spot without it was a 0, chaining/nesting these arrangements of these 1's and 0's determined the make up of the world. If you could see what ether was where, you could tell where it was soon going to be, and if you could edit them... Yes, this is exactly what alvis was talking about during the telethia intro fight.
Shulk wasnt able to weild the monado like no other on bionis because he was the chosen one. He was able to weild the monado because he was the only sentient bionis being who aquired the capacity to begin to comprehend functional computer programming logic.
Dunban was able to get as far as he did through sheer discipline and focus, but his lack of understanding likely began to, well, randomly edit his arm until it lost function.
Shulk seeing the future, was simply reading the code of the world zanza programmed, and seeing where it went. Shulk slicing things with the monado was literally editing them apart.
And perhaps most impressive of all, was that the concept of the monad/monadology, went beyond the story, dialogue, and plot. The gameplay itself was saturated with the concept.
The simplistic poo pooing of Xenoblades story looks like a cut and dry case of the Dunning-Kroger effect everytime I come across it. The detractors never demonstrate more than shallowest surface level comprehension of the story, or its themes.
http://en.wikipedia....g–Kruger_effect
Xenoblade, will be very, very, hard to top.

As I said, I knew jack all about the stuff that Saga/Gears covered. I knew some of the stuff from XBC's philosophy through your previous posts, and I wasn't intending to imply that Xenoblade was bad. I've just heard that Saga/Gears was more ..IDK,something deeper/more complex, due to the directors statement of Basic. Then again, if you look at some of the greatest works(LotR, Shawshank Redemption, Hamlet) there's an implied basicness about them. Doesn't mean it's not as deep as some other more complicated stuff.
Oh yeah, I got that you hadnt played them (though I would suggest giving gears a try if the oppUrtunity presents itself, still a fantastic game. Er, half a game).
I just run into the kinds of commenters you were talking about a lot. And basically, they link to a well worn article about Xengears philosophies and themes... And then completely fail to use the same thought process described in the article to approach an understanding of Xenoblade. Basically, they had to have gears spelled out for them, years after the fact and since no one did the same for blade, they assumed there was nothing there.
They often use out of context quotes from takahashi from a certain interview (dont know if its the one you are talking about) But conveniently leave out the part where he said his former overcomplicated melodrama style was a dead end for videogames, and that he was returning to basics to start a new foundation more suitable for interactive media with a small scale expirimental test (this turned out to be xenoblade)
His streamlining of plot and dialog did wonders for Xenoblade, especially in comparison to the mess that was saga, his return fo and improved focus on a creating a story and worldbuilding suited for interactive storytelling did wonders for blade, again, especially compared to saga, and his use of philisophical themes grew in sophistication, as he applied and grew in all directions for blade.
