As much as I love the idea of a female Link, I don't think this Link looks feminine enough to actually be. You would think they would give more visual cues.
Like this? ;p

Wait what? I don't get your response.
You asked why wouldn't you want any game to be max graphics, If every developer worked on that philosophy then every Wii U game would look amazing. The fact is very few developers do that

Also, they've never made a Zelda game that looked worse than its respective tech demo.
That was a tech demo built in a small area, unless there's going to be load screens every 30 seconds the new Zelda wont look that good. but I'm sure it'll come close with optimisation at 720p 30fps. Plus on top this game is hinted to be a HUGE living and breathing open world. I'm sure that while it wont look as amazing as that for a huge open world game it'll look as good as it can get for whatever art-style they choose.
I'm hoping for Smah Bros Link/Mario Kart 8 level of detail in character models (good but not PC game at max settings level of detail) and environments HOWEVER with advanced lighting, reflections, particle and fire effects to make things look even prettier. I'm not sure if I'm explaining it right here
In English I'm expecting Zelda U to look the best it can be given artstyle, size of game, size of each area before it has to load a new one and hardware limitations.
As I think when nintendo make a Zelda "the entire kingdom of Hyrule to be 20x larger than OOT, have excellent draw distance and no loading times AND I want an alternate dark world to be displayed on the gamepad etc etc" and the developer will have to optimise around it and make the game look the best it can given the extreme gameplay demands.
Oh and due to TP's size I do believe if they did a TP HD remake for Wii U in a couple of years they could optimise it to look as good if not better than the demo due to the possible smaller size of the game compared to what has been hinted for ZeldaU

wouldn't all the tech demos have been built in small spaces?
And why would you ever not want max graphics possible?
if everyone did, every Wii U game especially 3rd party ports would look incredible and immaculate. The only Wii U 1st party game I've seen not do as much as I knew it could do is Pikmin 3 in my minds eye. But i felt as it started its life on the Wii and they were getting used to how different HD was I can forgive it.
You can already see the progression on SM3DW and even from there to Mario Kart 8 and Smash Bros, I can't wait to see what they've been able to do with Zelda U
Especially when they had ages to experiment, so much that they decided to build Wind Waker HD which indicates that the Zelda team are definitely ready to max out the graphics and by the sound of it give us some really unique gamepad and online gameplay

Maybe we'll get Resident Evil 7 for Wii U too.
I'm not sure - I'd sacrifice Resident Evil 7* for a true-to-the-original full on Resident Evil 2 remake Wii U exclusive
* (because the series has gone far too downhill for me to buy it unless it's back to creepy rooms where you're anticipating what is around the corner I'm not interested, but I'm not sure about other Resi fans)

Mine is
- Zelda U: Open world, non linear (to a point), use of gamepad to view the dark world using your lens of truth, travel between worlds to complete dungeons etc. Online side quests such as "catch 30 of my golden cuckoos placed around the map" sidequests set and built by users for people to accept. Loftwing style creatures that enable you to travel around your world anywhere you want (ala Xenoblade Chronicles/X style)
- Hyrule Warriors
- Majora's Mask 3D
- Super Mario Galaxy 3 - 3DS/Wii U: Super Mario Galaxy 3 is the first NFP game allowing users to buy extra characters and perform your own remix including allowing Link into the universe. Two versions available one for 3/2DS the other for Wii U
- Pokemon Stadium: Pokemon Stadium U would allow you to choose Pokemon from over 300 species. Train them in battle against others online. Use the NFP Pokeballs to capture a pokemon. The physical copy comes with three free Pokeballs, if you want more pokemon to train and battle with then more Pokeballs can be purchased.
- NSMBU + SM3DW/L: NFP additions: Additional updates to NSMBU, SM3DW and SM3DL allows you to play multiple Mario Characters including DK in new (free) DLC
- Bayonetta 2
- "X"
-Yarn Yoshi
- Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem
- 3rd party showreel including Fast Racing Neo and Project CARS
- New Project Zero/Fatal Frame: Hoping for multi-region release
-----Now for requests I hope are in there, but I predict they wont-----------
- Metroid Teaser: Video with the development team talking about the game, a few glimpses of enemies, wireframe levels, and the Samus character model.
- Either StarFox or Kid Icarus U made by Platinum

Luigi's Mansion 3
Metroid Prime
Sonic Boom gameplay
Oh Yeah Sonic Boom, would definitely like to see more of that. I'm hoping for a Luigi's Mansion 2 HD ready for Halloween this year! AND I think if there IS a new Metroid: It'll be a November 2016 release date, in the meantime I'd like to see Metroid Prime Trilogy HD while we wait - like Nintendo did with Wind Waker HD. Reminding me of Wind Waker - I'd like some Wind Waker HD DLC - would be nice to have an expanded universe for Wind Waker - possibly in episodic. I also hope for Twilight Princess HD in 2016/2017 ^___^

RE7 is supposed to be returning to the series roots, so that's nice. They proved that they can make a competent classic RE game with the RE5 DLC and Revelations, we'll just have to wait and see if they stick to their word.
I don't know RE5 DLC just didn't feel scary, however Revelations was a step in the right direction, I can't trust Capcom after Resident Evil 6, not even Leon's scenario was scary. They need to look at EA's Dead Space, The Evil Within and Resident Evil Remake and combine them together. Maybe even set the next one in an underwater Bio-Lab designed for researching cures to bioweapons but then a virus leaks and you play an IT Technician who starts off with a screwdriver, can hack doors open (with time) and has barely any firearms in the game, he might even start of locking himself in a security cupboard during the outbreak, fall asleep and wake up and everyone's dead (but not for long
) then you spend your time getting to the last emergency escape pod on the other side of the facility. It might even have multiple endings, like there may be points where you have the opportunity to save people trapped and if you do they all take the emergency escape pod giving you a bittersweet ending of being stuck behind while they claim to go and get help, or if you choose to watch them die on the monitors you get the escape pod in knowledge that you let people die. No crazy conspiracy this time - no bad guys, just pure survival and horror (with tiny twists of action occasionally)

So now the quick launch has been installed, does it now seem loading times are now back to their original 20 second state? Or is there somethingwrong with my Wii U?

If Nintendo had two or three platforms next generation that would be great
1) A hardcore home console compatible with 9th gen handheld
2) A Hardcore handheld compatible with the 9th gen home console (or make a handheld-home hybrid console!)
3) A cheap, affordable Quality of Life Platform which relies of innovation over specs
This way Nintendo can go after casuals and core gamers by having more platforms available at different price ranges. This very well could be a return of Nintendo back on top form by not bundling its casual Wii Fit and Brain training packages with its game console - giving those who want Wii Fit a cheaper platform to purchase (let's say 9th gen Nintendo console is $400 (and be fully beefed up), and their handheld is $250 (again reasonably beefy), and their QOL platform could be $100 (be between DS and 3DS spec wise) make and sell like hotcakes. All with a decent profit margin.
Thoughts?

Great idea. Although I don't think Nintendo will price a handheld higher than $199 again.
I was also counting on the rate of inflation ![]()

I'd give it between an 8 and a 9 out of 10. There needs to be battle arenas, as local battle mode sucks hard. I'd like to see less or NO coin boxes, there's plenty of coins on the track! I'd like to see further improvements in the future with anti-aliasing and the addition of removing two player split screen. Give us player one on the TV and player 2 on the gamepad. Possibly extend this to 3 and four player mode. I prefer the old style split screen putting player one at the top and player two at the bottom if two player split screen can't be achieved on gamepad and TV (which is dumb since this is one of the cool reasons I support the idea of a gamepad!)
I also want to see Smash Kart DLC pack: Starting off with Kirby, Link, Samus and Captain Falcon all with their associated tracks and karts.
Double Dash Mode DLC: Player one on Pro/Wii Wheel) Player two with gamepad in first person mode firing the shells etc. Online and Two Player (Team) only to save the framerate from dying a hideous death.

Today I had my first day at work and I had to commute on a coach. i just so happened to have my Wii U with me with MK8, and I just so happened to sit in a seat with a wall socket. I plugged it in, and the coach powered the console, and of course the gamepad had enough battery life to last the 45 minute commute. Needless to say i'm very happy and thought I'd let you know that I presume due to the low power usage of the Wii U the coach wall sockets can handle a Wii U easily, and technically you can play off tv games out and about on long train and coach journeys - so long as there's a wall socket!

Oh completely, this is absolutely an idea that I don't see catching on, unless you're playing augmented laser tag in an arcade

I'm sorry to be the party pooper, but i think Miyamoto is losing his touch, I'm thoroughly disappointed by the motion controls. The games don't seem innovative enough for my standards, and they all look visually boring. I was expecting something so much better. I really wanted to rejoice, I really did but looks like the only thing that will be decent in this digital event is Zelda U :/
Who thought looking at security cameras would be a fun thing? Rock em sock em robots looks visually unpleasant and motion controls sound terrible and forced, and Starfox just looks boring. Just empty spaces and visually looks like a Wii game upscaled
I will reserve ultimate judgement for the Digital Event though

Btw nobody saw my previous thread, but Project Giant Robot and Project Guard are both StarFox gameplay demos for Giant Mecha levels and levels where you control multiple air wings!

The part where he talks about piloting a giant Robot from a helicopter, and talks about controlling multiple airwings finally sounds interesting!
