#95616 Nintendo has put themselves in a BAD situation

Posted by eugoreez on 25 July 2012 - 01:55 PM in Wii U Hardware

Nintendo really has put them selves in A bad position. Sony and Microsoft are making the screens optional so they can focus on power while still competing with nintendo and preventing them from stealing the audience, while nintendo is making the traditional controls optional so they can focus on gimmicks. Some people still think it's an add-on and not A full console. Nintendo's sealed for this next gen as A repeat if they don't make A Ps2 scenario. I know that i won't be getting it :P was going too but with all these rumours and risks i'd rather buy A different console and garauntee satisfaction with my purchases instead of taking pointless risks.

yeah, right. Don't be surprised if the nextbox come with the kinect built in and with a freakin AR glasses, have you been hearing rumors about that? of course you don't.

#95033 Wii U Multiplayer Idea

Posted by eugoreez on 23 July 2012 - 06:19 AM in Wii U Hardware

commander and soldier type game could nice.. commander plays on the wii u gamepad, soldier plays in the pro or nunchuck + wiimote... commander has control over reinforcement, airstrikes, overview maps... the soldier is on the ground, maybe with a command of a squad, plays on FPS view... commander view may sometimes be limited due to some factors, maybe a jammer.. so its up to the soldier to pinpoint where to send in airstrikes and what not...

damn, the possibilities...

#94854 Nintendo has put themselves in a BAD situation

and you are forgetting something... developers who push too much into graphics and forget gameplay, are bound to kill themselves... do you know a high end graphics game cost as much as a movie costs? just look how many developers had to close down because their game sales did not break even.. yes, it is not a main factor for a developer to close down, but it contributes..

#94632 A personally weird thought...

Posted by eugoreez on 20 July 2012 - 07:50 AM in General Gaming

if you don't like most of the exclusive that are on the ps3 right now.. I think you should just keep the money, and purchase a bunch of wii u games end of this year... i'm pretty sure there are tons of launch games..

ps3 exclusives mostly are shooters... FPS and TPS... one racing game Gran tourismo, which to me sucked compare to it's predecessor.. and demon soul.. though dark soul will come to PC later... soo, you aren't missing much.. chances are you'll get similar experience on the Wii U later...

#94630 Building a gaming PC. Take a look?

Posted by eugoreez on 20 July 2012 - 07:44 AM in General Gaming

I'm using that processor right now.. multitasking is the best... but gaming performance, I'm not sure... I can't really differentiate the performance with my old phenom II 555... either because I did not overclock the bulldozer to >4ghz yet or the games I play is not CPU demanding...

#94420 Is the Wii U Ultimately Doomed?

Posted by eugoreez on 19 July 2012 - 08:02 AM in Wii U Hardware

from what I see, no...

though I think this september conference will really determine whether it is doomed or not... the price, the full list of features, bundles, third party games... If these turn out disappointing... well, it's hard to say.. still I don't think it is doomed, though the chance for it to outsell ps4/nextbox will lower.. but then we still don't know how the ps4/next will turn out..

though, I still buy the wii u either way...

#94338 glasses free 3D gaming without angle problems

Posted by eugoreez on 18 July 2012 - 04:25 PM in General Gaming

3d without glasses have been around for some time... just different method... before 3ds was out, I remember seeing a video where it shows 3d effect without glasses, using face tracking... it was awesome, definitely can be captured on camera.. though might be not practical to use in gaming..

#94253 Ubisoft leakes that Wii U has an "O-Live" system?

Posted by eugoreez on 18 July 2012 - 02:31 AM in Wii U Hardware

if anyone had a ps3 and played demons soul series, you should have already experience the "massively online single player"... and it is awesome..

#94236 Ubisoft leakes that Wii U has an "O-Live" system?

yup.. related to the "massively online single player" thing.. probably through miiverse..

#94108 A personally weird thought...

Posted by eugoreez on 17 July 2012 - 04:33 PM in General Gaming

Time to, well...go against the consensus here.

There is a point to owning a PS3. Plenty of exclusives that won't be coming to the Wii U anytime soon, and then there's quite a few games which probably won't be getting a Wii U port due to them just being older games.

Xbox...eh, honestly, if you have a PS3/good gaming PC, Xbox isn't really worth having.

ha! +1

to OP... if you really have money to spare, get the ps3... I mean really really... just to get the taste of the exclusive games..

#93586 Micheal Patcher

Posted by eugoreez on 16 July 2012 - 09:20 AM in General Gaming

haha.. he also claims the $250 price point on the 3ds last year was really a bargain, that it'll fly off shelves and nintendo can't keep up with the production...

and of course, he is wrong

#93119 UNREAL 4 possible on Wii U

Posted by eugoreez on 12 July 2012 - 11:27 AM in Wii U Hardware

I'm not too happy about the fact he says they have "no intention to bring the engine to Wii U", however. I mean really, they're supporting it on phones, yet the Wii U is out of the question? And we still have to wonder whether these "ports" he talks about are going to be actually relatively equal to 720/PS4 versions or if they're just going to be downscaled to the point where it becomes an obviously inferior version...

Maybe I'm just pessimistic, but this doesn't exactly sound too good. I'm disappointed, Epic. -_-

you see.. Epic is trying to sell it's engine... they are trying to push everyone to buy the engine... so to use the engine, at high scale, it need good hardware.. it's not good if the hardware is too weak, it need to be scaled down so much, that its better to use unreal 3.. like some forummer here said, unreal 3.x can already achieve a batrainbow insane effects... I for one don't really care, but there are ppl who care and I respect that...

so why mobile phone? mobile phone become obsolete very fast... 100 times faster than console (exaggerating).. their hardware is continously changing.. apple bring out new device every year, with better hardware each release... as for android, there is always a new one almost everyday (exaggerating again, I know)! each with better hardware from before... so eventually, phones will be able to support better features of the engine.. so there is always increasing demand for better engines and graphics... not to mention the size of smartphone gaming market..

console on the other hand, stays on the same hardware for a long time... 6-10 years.. if the console can't use the engine, then Epic can't do anything.. the engine Epic build won't sell to the console developers... even so, there is always PC developers, why would Epic bother? I don't know.. I believe there are more developers for consoles rather than PC... even on PC, there isn't much games that use Unreal engine doesn't it? I don't know, please enlighten me on this..

so wii u is out, with not that much of a leap in hardware... of course Epic will be dissappointed... only Sony and microsoft is left.. from the rumor thats whirling about, microsoft may not pushing for that much better hardware too.. as for sony, who knows what is going on in their head... if you are on Epic side, I bet you'll be worried... I wonder how much profit did Epic gained from selling the engine.. I heard the price is 250k per licence.. well i don't know honestly...

there is one thing I hope, developers.. don't play on Epic's hand... high end graphics costs too much... you can see how many developers has died this gen... how many IP's has gone with it... simply because the break even sale point is just too high.. and ppl are very2 selective on a $60 games... just develop a with good enough graphics to suit the game setting, and good gameplay, and i'll be happy.. and I believe many would too...

this is my view on this... I could be wrong.. but, it's just seems too fishy... many developers died of high cost of game development.. but still they want to push it, making it even more costlier...

well that's it... turns out a long post

#93112 UNREAL 4 possible on Wii U

Posted by eugoreez on 12 July 2012 - 10:35 AM in Wii U Hardware

this is expected... ppl who are "if wii u can't run unreal 4, it's doomed for sure" is just paranoid or plain dumb... i've said before, engines can be tweaked/recode/changed etc to suit any device... scalable.. =_=

running the engine at full force might not be possible, hell, I think none of the next gen console will be able to... lets just wait n see...

#92965 WiiU is Very Easy to Develop and doesn't have many Limitations's

Posted by eugoreez on 11 July 2012 - 01:36 AM in Wii U Hardware

just read that... it makes me believe that namco is having difficulties due to different architecture rather than low clock speeds, even more...

#92831 E6760 is this the processor wiiu gpu is based on nintengen/metaldave

Posted by eugoreez on 10 July 2012 - 09:25 AM in Wii U Hardware

I'm still burnt by my Wii experience and a poor E3 2011 and 2012 not to buy a Wii U straight off unless I know it's future proof for third parties. In this financial climate I can probably only choose to buy one console, I need to know if it's likely that Nintendo can provide a decent enough spec to get ports of 3rd party 8th gen titles as well as high class 1st and 2nd party titles. Cause the only 1st party title(s) that I'm really interested in is Zelda (and possibly Metroid). Not sure if it'd shell out money for a console to play one or two games. Even if the Zelda franchise is one of the best games franchises of all time.

yeah.. can't argue with that..

but.. possibility is endless... I've posted a few weeks back, an article regarding current condition of gaming industry... it's bad, though we as a consumer don't see it... high end graphics game, just costs too much, for now.. it is not good for small developers... I bet there will be one period or generation, the graphics won't progress as much, or it'll come to a stall... maybe that period is now... the next box and ps wont feature a graphical leap, but experience.. and I believe the wii u is competing for that..

as an addon, there is a thread in neoGAF, discussing a leaked patent for xbox 8... it'll a feature literally 2 processor (well judging from the diagram, but may also meant 2 part in a processor doing 2 separate functions, I don't know) which are used for media consumption on one side and gaming from one side.. the thread also quotes and insider statements saying the next box may not feature that much better cpu and gpu for gaming, since the game will cater to whatever available to them ( I agree)... the next box will instead focus on added experience, like the kinect, AR, smartglass, bla3...

so yeah... I believe, it'll be a battle of experience next gen... gaming capabilities, graphics wise, may not be effected that much.. all 3 consoles will be able to compete in gaming nicely...

#92819 Wii U CPU confirmed (by respected game producer) As weak.

Posted by eugoreez on 10 July 2012 - 08:22 AM in Wii U Hardware

Then they're going to hate an 8-core processor running at 2Ghz for the Xbox 8, and Sony's 4 core APU running at 3.2hz :P

didn't the xbox 8 is rumored to have the similar IBM's processor? or is it the same as what you are saying? =_= I didn't pay attention to specs that much.. If so yeah, they will hate it

#92809 Wii U CPU confirmed (by respected game producer) As weak.

I dont know.. it seems to me namco had a bit of problem direct porting games to wii u, processor wise...

#92791 E6760 is this the processor wiiu gpu is based on nintengen/metaldave

Posted by eugoreez on 10 July 2012 - 05:24 AM in Wii U Hardware

I'm just going crazy that Nintendo doesn't just nip it in the bud and let us know the specs, we're still probably going to buy one, just denying the specs makes it look like Nintendo are being devious and might be selling us technology that isn't good value for money. AND it allows bad publicity to run riot without a confirmation on the specifications :(

in current age, its the content that determine the value... hardware to me, is just related to the cost... hell, if nintendo puts out vast superb content on the wii u and price it at $400 or above.. ill still buy it..
